The targaryen dynasty was epic, imagine finally seeing the throne your ancestor built hundreds of years before you, after all the pain and suffering and death, beautiful scene from an ugly season

whats even more sad is that not only she the last Targeryan to touch the throne after all this time, this whole time and she finally there and.... its just sad after all that to build her up then to see her like that.

While I sorta agree with you, I dont believe so. D&D had insight from George of whats happening last in the books also this is foreshadowed by the visions she has when looking for her baby dragons. Its the same. So shes most likely going to burn Kings landing for real and touching the throne and dying. Just hope George makes the «going mad» part make more sense etc. its just tragic tbh. I wish it had a happy ending where Dany and Jon rules together or something. That she goes mad and dies and Jon just gets sent back to the wall, it leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. As just going back to the start. And whatever happens to Drogon and Danys body? I want to know that. Would Drogon be able to reproduce? Maybe not… But it would be cool if dragons continued on. Man I could ramble about this all day.

That’s season 8 as a whole, especially the bells and the long night, those episodes on there own are masterful tv, perfect acting, direction, music, and sets, everything about it is so perfect, this is shit every other network should live up to, all of it except the writing, that one aspect makes all of it mean nothing.

This scene could've been powerful. It's the culmination of everything Dany had been working toward for 8 seasons. Even if the writers had given her madness arc room to develop, and she still ended up burning down King's Landing, I still would've felt a bit proud for her when she finally touched the throne, which is a testament to how well done the entire production was, especially the acting and the music. But alas, we got what we got because a couple of jackasses with inflated egos couldn't just hand the reins to someone else when they got tired of making the show.

This scene broke my heart. So metaphorical for me.

For a moment, she won. Her build up finally got her to the Iron Throne at a great cost, only for a moment. The music sends chills down my spine. This scene is the only good scene of the finale.

Such an amazing scene. The way it was shoot, the music and how Daenerys is when she finally gets to her ancestral family throne. The only thing I wish happened in this scene was that Daenerys actually got to sit on the Iron Throne. Let her sit in the dang throne. Thanks for uploading.

My only favorite scene from this episode. This was shot in the same way back in season 2 when she saw a vision of herself walking towards the throne and we assumed around her was snow. Only to later find it was ashes the entire time. Brilliant and very well thought out, this was def from GRRM and not D&D

@@liamcarrington7681 George told the ending of GoT to Dan and Dave incase he dies before the show ends. George himself even answered the question “is the ending of the show like the book” by saying “yes and no, no and yes.” I do believe the fate of Danaerys in the show would be similar to the books, but since the show left out a BUNCH of characters from the books then the events LEADING towards the ending would be totally different than what went down in the show. The books would at least make more sense on why Dany went mad and killed those people. Do you really think Dan&Dave would have the balls to write something like that? That was all George 100%.

Incredible how well they mirrored her Qarth vision. The music is absolutely haunting too.

Although I hate the final season there were moments in it that were truly great and memorable. This is one of them.

I think it is symbolic she just touched the iron throne but never sit on it...like she only was a winner for a moment and then we know the story...

She deserved that throne!!! There's no good or bad... there's just a common consensus on what that is. The dragon queen, the breaker of chains would always be my queen. You deserved a better end and this wasn't it.

But even villains who wants the love and support of the people wouldn’t do such stupid things like burning the city with thousands of innocent lives for no reason at all (She already won the war the moment she destroyed the Golden Company, Euron’s fleet and Lannister’s scorpions) and expecting everything and everyone to be happy about it. And of course her fascist speech about conquering the whole world to “free”humanity from their chains (A pathetic pretext for absolute domination), didn’t help at all.

If she wanted the Iron Throne and KEEP IT, she only had to order her soldiers to break into the Red Keep, kill only Lannister supporters who crossed in their way and then get Cersei and have her executed. Simple as that.

the musical background is amazing her expression after everything she's been through it is tragic how she died but she wasn't murdered, or killed in a gruesome way stabbed after a kiss. in a way Jon set her free she's with her people now. Not alone anymore not with a horrible burden. the Iron throne destroyed its like a curse has been broken.

One of the most epic sense in the series as well as television period.

There's something very surreal and satisfying when we see places like this. When established places are just up and destroyed, I love it

The saddest scene for me was when Drogon was trying to wake up Daenerys before realizing she was dead. It perfectly reflects the rollercoaster of emotions the audience is experiencing where we're in denial that this is actually happening and that her downfall was unexpected until we look back at all of the events leading up to it. * Mirri Maz Duur: "...you will see exactly what life is worth when all the rest is gone" (s1 ep.10). * Viserys being cast aside paralleling with Daenerys losing allies in Westeros. * Maester Aemon: "Love is the death of Duty"/ "A Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible thing". * Ser Jorah Mormont: "No one can survive in this world without help". (S2) And this why Drogon burns down the Iron Throne. He realizes that it was the Throne that caused the Targaryen's downfall and why dragons have gone nearly extinct and so he breaks the cycle, making Daenerys' death all the more heartbreaking because she became the very monster she swore to destroy in her quest to break the wheel.

GOT should have ended at this moment. Actually... the entire season 8 should have been this scene. The rest was just a very bad nightmare...

The soundtrack to this scene is still etched in my memory. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

1:14 yes the ending was awful but damn that mini orchestral rise when she touches the throne send shivers every time. Its the moment weve been waiting for all series and the soundtrack did it justice.

This is saddest scene in history of cinema for me and i watched alot,you can just see its the end,not only of Daenerys but u can see,hear and feel the Game of thrones is comming to end.

I wept while seeing this scene and cried after Jon stabbed her and killed. She struggled since her childhood to get the throne but she only touched it and died😢. I just recommended it to my Sabaro right now.😢

Drogon was guarding the only entrance

The way she dies is simply the worst in the show I have ever seen. She lost her father and brother, children, husband, and the man she loved, as well as the best friend she had. Not to mention, she was betrayed many times. Dany suffered so much to get here, and the people with her from the beginning will never turn their backs on her.

They both did their mythical parts fighting the war for the dawn. And unless there's another prophesy or winter to still come, they're only doubtfully further needed.

i pray martin gives her a proper ending.

Daenerys in this scene looks like she is reminiscing through the ruins of the Kingdom of Old Valyria while walking to the only thing she has truly wanted all her life... It doesn't even look like King's Landing. Her acting and the music absolutely killed it, i almost forgot how terrible the writing was for a moment. It's a shame it came to this

What a horrible ending. The reason we loved game of thrones was because it was real. Good guys died. Good guys won. Bad guys died. Bad guys won. What kept you were your actions. No way that she had the Dothraki, the Unsullied, and three dragons as well as the iron born and Dorne - not to mention the Tyrells and she lost. It’s just not realistic. Even for me Tyrion being her hand after it was painfully obvious that he was on his family side was silly. She saw the way John looked at her. Bullshit. Also the dragons can sense danger. We saw that in the earlier season where they tried and ambush her in the fighting pits. The minute he started screaming at her and was raising his aggression - drogon would of been there. He’s right outside. The same way he sensed she was immediately dead. Is the same way he would of sensed John because he’s also a targyrian and has a connection to the dragon. Just so much bad writing.

This is a truth that woman always like to wore a crown of this planet and the chair of hate and famousness, but ones if women would ever be succeeded in the real life ....then she found herself all alone and her companies "man" are nothing more but a bad dream which never makes her happy and she will found that this is now over ones she'll be on the crown ,and I m talking about this film or this scene , only the wise can understand what the hell is my meaning about.
