I think that’s a very interesting question. You know that Phil has an obsession with Gloria which has been a recurring plot line in his character throughout the show? One of several traits I haven’t liked about him. However, to answer your question, I think that Phil is too naive to even realise that he would/could cheat without knowing it. Another recurring trope for him to be picking up or having women flirt with and want him without knowing or realising it. Back in the first season, his old high school girlfriend, Denise visited him and his family, Claire thought she’d been messaging him on Facebook because she was trying to woo him, Phil didn’t believe it, but then it turned out Claire was right.
