Exactly, the "american" ones don't have silk sacs or venom glands; meaning, not poisonous and/or can spin webbing. Also, only have 2 eyes.

Don’t be afraid of cellar spiders, they’re free pest control. I’ve had one in my apartment for like 2 1/2 years and he’s taken plenty of nats and I’m sure some other small bugs as well. He chills in his ceiling corner above my PC 👌

well, there are two kinds of arachnids that are called "daddy longlegs", the first one is harvestman, which cannot produce silk, doesnt have any sort of venom, and they dont have the visible "waist" that spiders have. the second type is the Cellar Spider (likely the one in the video), cellar spiders are true spiders and do the typical spider stuff like produce silk and inject prey with venom

well, there are two kinds of arachnids that are called "daddy longlegs", the first one is harvestman, which cannot produce silk, doesnt have any sort of venom, and they dont have the visible "waist" that spiders have. the second type is the Cellar Spider (likely the one in the video), cellar spiders are true spiders and do the typical spider stuff like produce silk and inject prey with venom

The fun part is, both are harmless to humans! ...Except when harvestmen do that thing where they cluster together so thick it looks like shaggy fur, and then you touch it and the pile explodes into a swarm of legs (⊙_⊙') Yeah, that'll cause psychological trauma
