Dad & the boys build an Epic Playhouse (Part 1 of 2)
This summer, we decided to build our 2 sons a playhouse that will last us for many years! I was able to build in my spare time, and the boys would come home and help where they could!

Love what you said about teaching children to learn to build with their hands.
I have four grandsons. I am building a playhouse for them. Your work is very useful and inspiring for me. It's a really great job. Congratulations and thank you.
I love seeing on this video, that real men/fathers still exist. Way to many parents (mothers and fathers), concentrate on themselves and have no time for their children. Good job! Your kids will remember their playhouse, and how their father built it for them.

Thank you! I’m by far not the perfect parent, but I try. I give them my time.
Well done sir! Involving the boys so much will be some cool memories for them as well as their appreciation for the treehouse itself!
"Up in the air??" I love the look of amazement as they realize how big its going to be and how high up. It's so great they're getting to be involved so much with making things. Fantastic!

This is great! You look like you have construction experience, I'm a newbie, but hoping to build and learn from my mistakes along the way!
Great job mate.
I have no idea why this doesn't have more likes! Amazing build fella. Your kids are very lucky. Here in the UK we would need planning permission for something that tell but lots of good practice tips we can take from your build. Thanks!!

Amazing build A+ Dad. I built my kids loft Beds because of our small home and things here and there to make a small space useful. But this is amazing and inspiring! I’m drafting up my build today for my kids backyard fort.

Absolutely awesome! I think you’re being a good man! What town are you all in?
Great job and really inspiring. Thank you. I'm about to start a similar project for my daughter in 4 weeks time during the Summer holidays over here. Can you please provide some details on size of lumber for the supporting posts, distances apart, lumber for the joist etc. Sorry for these silly questions but I want to make it safe for her - and she'll (11 years old) be checking me at every step in any case. One final question (and thanks in advance) I'm reasonably fit but had unexpected heart by pass surgery last year - this is why I want to do this now - so my question is can this project be undertaken provided you take it easy ? What I mean that there is nothing really heavy involved (more than say 30kg bags of sand to shift).
Top man respect to you
Very very cool man I’m encouraged to do my own for my boy but I want to attach it to the patio of our house

Any update on the plans for this build? I'd like to build this for my granddaughters.
Wow - after seeing all his tools, equipment, powered vehicles, etc, I feel that building the 6x8 playhouse with covered porch and deck for my kids with a handsaw, drill/driver and hammer was a little bit ambitious…
What are the dimensions of the deck and about how much u have put into it
Great playhouse, Justin. Looks pretty sturdy. Are your beams and joists all 2"X6"? Just working out a plan for an 8' X 12' playhouse here.
@dietrichnsons

Jonathan Miller yes I did all 2x6, ledgers and joists. Kept the spans short and should last longer than me🤠

Can you put the measurements in inches of the wooden boards you use for the base of the house (posts and braces) as well as the structure of the walls? Thanks

About $1500 in material. Which if you go and buy the big playhouses at a box store, that’s what they cost, plus you have to assemble them. Definitely more work involved for me here, but I feel like it was worth it🤠
Id say maybe tell how you’re doing it to help other dads.
Ya built a deck
