My dad has three sons, i am the middle one. People told me when my younger brother was born, my dad was very much disappointed, he was expecting the last to be a girl atleast, i'd figured would be like the same as the man in video. Grandma says when he was younger, he always dreamt of having a daughter. The disappointment he had when he had all three sons hahahaha. He finally had to accept it was not what life intended for him.

It's okay to be disappointed. It's not okay to make a scene and ruin it for others.

My dad and mom were blessed with total 5 daughters including me. I know they must have wanted at least one boy, but they never ever made us daughters feel like we were not enough or not as good as a son would’ve been, and they loved us (still love us) unconditionally. I’m so blessed to have them as my parents. I hope they get to have many many loving grandchildren - both boys and girls! 💖

Not only that, we all know boys love their mothers. When I found out I was having another boy, I was happy. I'll be honest, I was kind of hoping for a girl at first with my second because then I would have one of each but to me all that mattered was a healthy baby. I remember when the technician told me that I was having a boy. I had to go to the ER because I fell and I wanted to make sure the baby was okay. She told me that I was about 18 weeks and that she was not supposed to tell me what the gender was. She said that they may have read it out in the front but that she couldn't tell me. We got to talkin and I remember asking her if I was far enough along that she could tell what I was having and she said yes, it's a boy. I was happy that she told me and I told her that if they told me up front I would act surprised.

My father was so excited when he learned mother was pregnant that he bought an expensive train set for me. Back then you did not know which sex a baby would be until it was born. I imagine he might have been a little disappointed but he was a wonderful father and now at age 94 years he told me he could not imagine having a better child. I care for him 24/7 and feel honored to do so.

I was the last born out of 6 kids. I was the only girl. To my parents they only ever had 5 sons. I was their cinderella, i was starved and abused. I will forever have physical and mental health issues because of them. If i could have kids i would cherish them no matter what

I knew a mother who gave birth, when the doctor said “ it’s a boy”, she sobbed in disappointment. Her husband actually went out and bought extravagant gifts she wanted to make her happy. That baby boy passed away at a very young age. BE THANKFUL because you don’t know how long you’ll have someone and you don’t want to regret not showing them love. I really think this Dad will love his baby girl! He just wanted a son.

Tell me how 90% off Americans make less then $2600 a month, and can somehow support 3 children? I’ve always wanted a niece but right now I have 5 nephews and I’ve got to admit I’ve cried with disappointment at most of their gender reveals. But I love all of them so much and wouldn’t change a thing.

I totally agree!!.. I’m a 3rd child to my parents and my entire family wanted a boy, including my grandparents, who’s 5 son’s have only girls!.. So finally I was born and I turned out to be a girl!.. my mom cried, my dad was disappointed, my grandma sat with her hands on her hands and god knows my grandpa’s reaction!.. But honestly, when I heard about this years later, I just burst into laughter 😂🤣😂 I found it too too amusing!.. I actually turned out to be the favourite of all, especially my dad 👹 Just cause a parent has a moments disappointment, doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t love their child!.. It’s a natural desire to have a different gender for a 3rd baby.. I tease my mom till date, for crying when I was born 😂🤣😂 And Truth be told, I’m her biggest support and she calls me her “Rock of Gibraltar” ❤

My dad had 4 girls . He was excited every time the doctor came out and said , " it's another girl " . The doctor told everyone in town this story . He'd say " you'd think Charles had a team of boys at home " . My dad was no fool ." His girl's" gave him oodles of grandkids , male and female . He never spent a holiday or sick day alone . He died , surrounded by ALL that female life he created . 💞💕💗

My aunt had 4 boys. Her 5th pregnancy they couldn’t tell if it was a girl or boy because the baby’s legs were crossed. She cried all the way home. Her mother my grandmother told her to stop crying it’s a girl. She asked how did she know. “Because ladies cross their legs”. My aunt finally had a daughter.

My father felt bummed that I wasn't a son, but he accepted it and he still loves me. I find disappointing gender reveals laughable because I could relate, but don't even try making a scene by cussing in front of your children. Maybe the daughter might laugh at this but it's still rude.

I wouldn't have come to my husband's defense in this situation. I would have blasted him on social media too! What disgusting behavior.

Yep. I’m 47. My father wanted boys and got 3 girls. We grew up knowing this and it was evident in our upbringing. He never went to see any of our sport games, no parent/teacher interviews, never played with us. We tried to please him and get close to him by enjoying fishing and camping etc - but he always took us and taught us things under sufferance. He’s now in his mid 70’s and none of us girls like seeing or speaking to him. He will be the elderly person in the nursing home that never gets visitors and people & staff will wonder why. That’s why, Dad. You never should have been a father.

My grandma kept my dad out of my life allegedly. My mom married another dude a few years later who hated me. That turd was in my life for eight years too long. I went looking for my real dad; who I only met once before, about five years ago. My cousin said he was real sad in life over not being able to have a relationship with me; although he put on the tough role. Anyway, my dad died alone. It didn't have to be that way. Forgive him. Better for your soul. 💓 He was there at least. I'm in my late 40s, as well.

@@vh4478 He wasn't incapable. She said that he took them fishing and camping; but she seems to feel it wasn't enough that he tried and remained in the home. Nobody's perfect. I wonder if he worked long hours. That makes a difference, as well. One of my first jobs was at a hospice center where at least three fourths of my patients never had visits from their family. But these same people would fight over life insurance and property. Sad...

I have three boys and I’m forever grateful. It shouldn’t matter the gender as long as they’re healthy.

I was like this on my second baby girl. I really wanted a son more than anything in the world. My mom came immediately and straightened me out, reminding me how much my first babygirl had saved my life. I wouldn't trade it for the world, being a girl dad is amazing. And when you have two girls already I guess it's kind of understandable if you want a son and for some people including myself I want a son too now if I have a girl I'll still love her the same and everything but I want to send to my family name could live on as well as being able to do Kick-Ass guy stuff with my son.

I’m glad that back when I had my kids (mid 70’s) they didn’t do ultrasounds that revealed gender. We found out at the moment of birth and if there was a moment of disappointment it was rapidly overshadowed by the overwhelming love we felt for this little human who had just entered our lives.

My brother and I were born in the 80s, and my parents chose not to find out. I was first, and I was expected in late 1983. My mom had a younger sister who was 7 at the time (she was a later-in-life surprise baby for my grandparents). My mom and her mom stood in line for a Cabbage Patch Kid in the August heat with my mom very pregnant. My mom knew she wanted the doll because she could have a girl. I asked her what would have happened if I had been a boy. She told me she would have saved it for the next baby. If she had had all boys, she would have given it to someone with a daughter. I was a girl, I got that CPK doll. I wasn't allowed to play with it. There was one photo of it laying next to me for my first Christmas, and that doll went on the shelf and stayed there throughout my childhood. My brother was born 2 years later, and we both were given a preemie CPK doll. He got a boy, and I got a girl. We were allowed to play with those. Back then, they advertised a lot of dolls for boys and girls. Shoot, My Buddy doll was made for boys and the girl doll (Kid Sister) came later.

Good parents lose sleep (and years of life expectancy) over their child's safety and well-being every minute of the day regardless of whether the kid is male, female, three or thirty years old. When I was born, my dad was so proud. According to my mom, he walked around the maternity ward like he owned the place (more like swaggered), and he crowed about it to everyone who would listen. It also helped that I was the first granddaughter born on both my mom’s and dad’s side of my family, and the only girl born to my paternal grandparents. From what I understand, the dad truly loves his daughters, and girl number 3 is going to be much loved as well.

Im the only girl of 4 children. When I found out my mom was having another boy, I was so disappointed and hid under the table to cry! Could you tell I was hoping for a sister? lol But that didn't stop me from loving my little brother and now we're the closest duo in our family. Its okay to be disappointed at a gender reveal. It stops being okay when you take it out on the child and dont love them as they deserve to be loved. (EDIT: I understand that it wasn't the best reaction to show infront of his daughters as a grown man. The cursing and walking off can be taken negatively. Though if the family says he's a great loving father, im sure he celebrated with them after he calmed down as this is only a clip of the entire event. Disappointment can be hard to suppress sometimes - it makes him human. I can only hope that his future daughter understands.)

The difference is he's expressing open disappointment and every experience he desires with a boy he could be sharing with his daughters. What if his youngest daughter sees this? Not so funny.

What a jerk that Dad is. He should be happy if it's a girl and healthy too. Shame on him.

I'm not even close to being a parent, but shouldn't all that matters be the fact that the child is healthy and the mother is safe?

It's understandable to be disappointed, but reacting like that in front of his girls sends them a message. You may think they're too young to understand, but they're absorbing everything like a sponge at this age.

The biggest problem with this is that they recorded it. His daughter will now watch this one day and feel terrible. (Edit: Yes the girl MAY grow up with thick skin, but it's also very possible she will be a sensitive child. They wouldn't have to worry about assuming the best or the worst if they never recorded it in the first place or at least not posted)

Maybe or she might just laugh it off, who knows? Don’t have to assume the worst… maybe she has thick skin and by the time she sees this she will have been raised by her dad and will know he loves her

@@sophritoh Was coming to say the exact same thing. I knew my dad didn't actually claim me when I was born but I don't feel terrible because he's in my life, fully claims me now and actually tries. If he's a good dad, she'll probably be alright

That just shows a few seconds of disappointment compared to the years he will probably spend raising her and showing her he loves her. I don’t think she will care too much if he’s a good dad to her.

She'd feel worse if he pretended to be happy, but then found out he didn't want a girl.

You can't prevent yourself from feeling disappointed, but did he really have to express it in front of everyone? His daughter's going to see this in the future and wonder if she's a disappointment.
