My favorite scene is early in the video when mother is holding her baby and she has her hand on her head..she looks away and when she looks back the sun shines on her eyes..and for a small moment I could feel/see what Jane Goodall must see. Deep unimaginable beauty.💞

I think about that too. Genki seems fulfilled to be a mother but I still worry about her holding her head. Poor Gentaro , an older child, definitely needs more stimulation although it's great that he has his little brother to play with now. I'm glad they're safe but I wonder if it's worth it.

That's why he should never live a life in a rotten place like a zoo. Release them. They could have a great life in Africa even if they have to spend some time in a sanctury before being released.

Not for a good while yet. Gorillas can live to 60 years old in captivity. So lots more time to enjoy this magnificent family! (Momo is 20, Genki 34, Gentaro 9, Kintaro 2.)

Most zoos show them videos, you just don't get to see it. Before Genki came to Kyoto she was shown many videos of male gorillas, she indicated Momotaro was the one she liked.

Definitely, there are videos of him playing with Gentaro. I think he still plays with Gentaro, and Kintaro now too

Since I'm an Animal Lawyer who specializes in protecting primates here in the states I've come to really love this family of Momotaro and Genki. I have seen baby pictures of her and she is still a pretty lady and I've always said on different channels that "Genki is the matriarch of all matriarchs"

That's what father's do they protect their loved ones

Beautiful creatures. It made me wonder what evolution will make of them in years to come...perhaps a more peaceful version of human beings? The other thought I had was "How do they manage to have a better tyre to play with than I have on my car?" Haha

Gorillas can have shorter thumbs. But Orangutans have the shortest thumbs of all apes.

Favorite Animals: isn't there anything you can do to get some help for Genki? The majority of the time when I see a video of this family she is holding her head. She suffers from something or some sort of pain in her head. Could you please alert the authorities about this? It could save her life. They need to do something to help her and not just be collecting money exploiting her and her family.

I believe that there is something wrong with Genki because she holds her head very often almost like she suffers from headaches or something. I really think the zoo keepers should look into that and gave her check by a zoo doctor.

Go do research first before asking. It is normal and something she's done her whole life for some reason. Seems to be when it's cold but in general she just does it. She's fine

I dont like seeing gorillas in a cement enclosure they should be in the forest where they belong
