He was just going a tad too fast, as is most crashes on the Nurburgring. you cant underestimate this track at all, even a slight misstep will result in a bad accident. I just hope he's ok.

The driver of the Porsche copped a 3000 euro fine for it. I never actually saw the crash, but it’s hard as f..k to overtake on the Nord, at night, you guess which way to go and hope the guy you’re overtaking sees you and adjusts accordingly

Dabei hat der Dacia 180 PS, was bei dem Gewicht auch nicht gerade wenig ist, der Porsche hat sich verschätzt, wer vorne ist hat ein Recht auf seine Linie, er fährt ja schließlich auch ein Rennen.

Maybe its time to mandate minimum qualifying times to prevent these rolling roadbloacks to cause havoc during the race

@@doggo5635 Basically the Dacia is/was a beater that barely met the minimum competing requirements. But it kept with the spirit of the 24H races, where everyone is free to compete in their own right. The Dacia had become a cult classic after all these years.

The last time a Logan's career was ended this brutally, he went in a Forrest to film dead people.

@Jay ja das stimmt wohl da is doch was mehr konkurenzverhalten als gesund wäre klar passieren fehler aber man muss ja auch sagen ich finde es auch was schwierig so viele verschiedene Klassen zusammen zu würfeln ...finde das ist unnötiger Frust der sich da aufbaut und solche Probleme könnten dadurch beseitigt werden wenn das getrennt wird

I had never made an effort to watch this particular event before and it was interesting to get caught up on the "storyline" with some of the fan favorites here. This was admittedly pretty sad, as this team seemed to be REALLY well liked and even venerated by a few people. Gotta' say though, all the in-car footage from the night was intensely engrossing. This circuit certainly lives up to its infamous reputation!

Ich hoffe, dass Fans und die Dacia Firma ermöglichen, dem Team ein baugleichen Dacia zusammenzustellen... Auch wenn dieser Motor nicht mehr hergestellt wird, gibt es bestimmt irgendeine Möglichkeit einen gut erhalten motor aus solch einem Modell zu bekommen...

Die haben meine ich gesagt, dass sie nicht mehr antreten werden mit solch einem langsamen Auto da es einfach zu gefährlich ist durch den Geschwindigkeit unterschied. An der Stelle sind das mal eben so 80km/h

@@chrisp7048 Ist eigentlich sowieso schon heftig dass die damit überhaupt zugelassen werden, je nachdem an welcher Stelle der Strecke du bist, ist ein überrundender GT3 halt 100-130 kmh schneller, eigentlich ne tickende Zeitbombe, grade auf ner Strecke wie der Nordschleife

​@@Law0fRevenge Ja, was aber oft vergessen wird, dass es ein Amateurrennen mit 330 Profifahrzeugen ist, nicht umgekehrt. Wenn man mit der Logik heran tritt müssten viele andere Fahrzeuge auch weg (Manta, etc.) Das macht aber gerade die 24h am Nürburgring aus.

@@chrisp7048 mit derselben Logik wurden ja schon vor Jahren die SP1 und andere kleinere Klassen aussortiert. Wird eher Zeit den GT3 da ihr eigenens Rennen zu geben, und dem Breitensport sein 24h zu lassen, ohne GT3-Aerobomber. GT2 und GT4 könnte eher funktionieren.

People here act like the difference in speed between these cars is anything new. I remember watching the 24h as a kid (when it was still interesting) and the grid was full of 90's Golfs, as well as 318IS', Civics and other privateers. Back then we already had absolute monsters in the SP7 class. Sure the gap in speeds may have widened a bit, but it hasn't gotten THAT much bigger. The mindset of the racers is what has changed.

is this a joke or poor attempt and revisionism? speed difference in the 90's where mostly group N cars was competing and it was more of an amateurish race is nowhere close to the modern SP9 class that are 4 minutes a lap faster than the potato dacia. Also compared to the old SP7 you are talking about modern cars , tyres, aero, drivers are so much more advanced, professional and more importantly faster now but the backward German ADAC STILL allow rolling road blocks to race.. they need to use some of their so called German logic and mandate a minimum qualifying time for slow cars

I'm talking about the era between like 2006 and 2012 or so, where we did see Porsche RSR's, Aston Martins, R8's and other cars alongside slow privateers. But it's fine. Dacia & Manta only cars that I really appreciate seeing every year we travel from the UK to see this race. The GT3s are great to watch, but I feel they should show a little more respect to the slower cars when the speed difference is so great. So many of the faster cars take real hard risks to overtake slow movers. The Dacia was well off racing line in this and is absolutely not at fault! RIP Dacia, I wish the team the best of luck in rebuilding and returning for next year! ❤️

And even so, does a racing line even exist in this race? I fully blame the driver of the Porsche for this. Yes you’re not racing the Dacia, but you should still show absolute respect to that driver & team who have put in so much effort to be here. Pure pain

Thats what i never understood I understand there can be multiclass racing but not with significantly slower cars on the track that are well under the pace Its like going on the highway n everyone has to dodge the grandma going 35mph I still have respect tor the dacia

You have to have balls of steel to enter this race in the Dacia or his class mates, like the Opel Mantra. Especially knowing how reckless the GT3 drive. They don't lift for a second.

The Mantra is closer to the GT3 cars then the Dacia to the Mantra. Its not compareable.

The GT3s actually lift a lot, the problem is that lifting isn't nearly enough on this track when you're going a good 100 kph faster than the car in front of you

@@plisskenationbackfromthede3657 The Manta drives 10:10 times. SP9 drives 8:10. Logan drives 12+ SP9 cars in NLS are dríving significantly slower then they could, their BOP aims at 510-520 horse power.

Ich denke es ist ein Zusammenspiel mehrerer Faktoren. Der Dacia ist viel zu langsam, obwohl ich solche Teams über alles mag. Die besitzen mehr Herzblut als manches Werksteam. Andererseits ist das Ego gewisser Fahrer einfach zu gross. Zum Glück sind alle lebend davongekommen, das ist das wichtigste!

Weniger Ego eher einfach Geschwindigkeit falsch eingeschätzt. 80km/h unterschied sind nicht gerade wenig, besonders im dunkeln.

Da gibt es keinen Zusammenspiel. Der Porschefahrer hat am Crash schuld. Das wurde mittlerweile auch vom Fahrer selbst bestätigt. Es gibt bei sowas nun mal mehrere Klassen. Da kann man nicht einfach blind und rücksichtslos rumdüsen.

Still could be worst

The Ferrari team drivers had to back off several times for drivers blocking them ...not intentionally...they just had no place to go on track where they were...in a bad spot on a corner, etc....damn shame to see such a great effort end this way.

I was watching through the night when the #72 had it's spin. From the onboard i saw the Logan shooting by, happy it was still running. The BMW then limped along and 20 sec. later it passed the "explosion site" with the badly mangled Logan, totally surreal. They never showed the Elantra onboard then, i'm glad i found it here, gives me a bit closure. RIP Logan.

Winner of the hearts. :(

100% Porsche fault, those are claiming about too slow cars, have you seen what about with #3? It was a Cayman , way way faster than a Dacia, and it was 100% his fault

Who's to blame ? Clearly the organizers to accept such a difference in top speeds, which leads to inevitable crashes... or the Porsche driver who just wasn't able to avoid this mobile chicane... The Dacia driver couldn't be held responsible for any other faster cars coming up in the mirrors, who have to check whether they can overtake safely enough ; which wasn't the case, obviously. Don't blame the slower one...

I drove this car for like 2 years. In India it is termed as Renault/Mahindra Logan. Never knew it was used in racing.

Like in the stream, there was a replay of the spin from I think it was Max Hesse when this crash happened. And in this replay, the first car that they pass is the Junior BMW with the puncture

Der Dacia muss an Stellen, die man nicht einsehen kann, damit rechnen dass dann von hinten ein GT 3 Bolide angeflogen kommt und darf dann keinesfall, wenn er die Stelle passiert hat, auf der Ideallinie bzw. wie hier mitten auf der Strecke fahren. Und dann noch im Dunkeln. Da konnte keiner mehr reagieren. Das ist dann auch kein Rennen mehr, wenn man 24 Stunden wie im Schützengraben in Deckung gehen muss weil von hinten die Granaten fliegen. 🪖

Der Dacia war schon viele Sekunden vorher deutlich zu sehen. Da hat sich der Porsche verschätzt. Zu dem Entschluss ist auch die Rennleitung gekommen. Wenn man sich die Reifenspuren auch mal genau ansieht - Bild für Bild - sieht man, dass der Porsche ziemlich genau auf der Mitte der Fahrbahn war, als es zum Unfall kam.

Poor thing didn't stand a chance. Must have been terrifying driving it just waiting for something like this to happen though.

Eventually it had to happen. This is such a narrow track to drive a car that much slower than the rest.

Das ist ein wirklich trauriger Tag gewesen für den Motorsport als echten Breitensport in Deutschland. Der letzte echte Volkswagen ist von uns gegangen. Autos wie der kleine tapfere Dacia waren mal das Herz und die Seele dieser Veranstaltung, doch mittlerweile ist diese komplett zu einem Spielplatz für Millionäre geworden. Mit dem Ende vom Dacia ist auch das letzte bisschen "Breitensport" beim 24 Stunden Rennen zu einem Ende gekommen. Einfach nur Traurig..
