    Thanks for the update John - the Dabbsson looks an amazing bit of kit, and great to see how such integrated power options are rapidly improving and dropping (relatively) in price.👍 On that note, I am pleased to see Jackery FINALLY offering LiPO4, which hopefully will increase competition over time, and bring prices down further...

    wow John it doesn’t seem two minutes ago that the AFERIY Portable Power Station 2400W was the dogs nuts. Technology is marching on but I’d still like to see how these units sit between the front seats or in front of them when swivelled. I’ve just come back from eleven weeks in the Alps 🏂 and this is where such a unit would sit for me and no doubt others. Cheers Michael.

    A great video - you've convinced me to bin my Ecoflow (poor 12v outlet options). Being somewhat of a novice - if you use the Dabbsson Anderson 30amp outlet to a fused 12v supply panel - would you suggest also running a negative earth point to the van chassis or would it be sufficient running to the negative Anderson point on the DBS2300? I've just purchased the same unit, as like you I need the app control due to it's final location.

  • @GadgetJohn

    They are more efficient overall but not that common in leisure vehicle setups. Cabling is better on 48v and batteries are smaller & lighter. I’m not aware of anywhere near the same number of product options though.

    Hi John, sorry for what might seem like a negative comment but just wanted to say that if your little outlet there is rated at 30A then irrespective of what the individual loads are you need to make sure that the cable you are using is also rated above 30A. I can’t quite gauge off the video what size cable you are using although it does look like a flexible cable. I think you would probably need a 4mm cable to be safe

  • @GadgetJohn

    @GadgetJohn

    It’s not a negative comment, but the cable rating is suitable for the load over the distance of the cable. I’ve got a video all about cable rating and how to calculate it.

(Leisure battery to fuse to split charger then to any power hungry appliance DC or AC via inverter.

    Sorry - i know this is likely a stupid question 😫 i have a tyre inflator which runs off my car cigarette lighter no probs. I thought it would be able to power it off my ecoflow delta mini cigarette lighter - but there isnt enough power being fed to it 😫 any ideas because my van cigarette lighter is far to far away to use the inlfator if i ever need to inflate a rear tyre!

  • @GadgetJohn

    @GadgetJohn

    3 ай бұрын

    Not all power stations have enough power going to the 12v cig socket, some say 10 amps but most are 8 amps and that's not enough for a tyre inflator as the internal compressor motor will surge as it starts.

    John. Good vid. May i ask which one has hit all the buttons for powerstations. Youve reviewed and used, allpowers s2000, bluetti recently and i know youve had ecowflow delta and the bigger Gear with crap after service, which actually put me of ecoflow, so you saved my pocket. Im curious to know your answer, i do appreciate that the answer may change, because products are improving iber months these days. Lifepo4 is the current best on the market, Id not touch jackery due to low availabe power plus their price and functionality. Allpowers are good but limited app functions to monitor. Also it may not be approprite for your system, im considering tapping a 13amp power lead to the back of shore power inlet, with plug into my s2000 AP. I belieeve that theres no conflict because the van is more than, capable of being powered by a normal shore power cable direct to any power station. Do you consider this a value project or do you envisage a tech issue. The cable would plug directly into 230 socket but when not in.use into a dud, socket housing. I want eliminate the need for a camping shore power cable. Your opinion and answers are appreciated and i wish Mandy our very best. Chin up to you at this dificult time

    So far the DBS2300 is by far the best for what you get in this small package. I don't see any issues wiring the mains cable directly to a hookup outlet on the outside of your van and then connecting the hookup on campsites would recharge the power station and would provide 240v from the campsite through the DBS2300 sockets.

    Hi John, If you were to build your own power station, do you think it would be more efficient and less expensive than ready-made ones? What components would you use? (e.g., inverter watt capacity, charge controller Amps size, battery capacity, and solar panel wattage) It would be an interesting and informative guide if you made a video about it, considering your gadget experience and the number of systems you've installed and tested.

  • @GadgetJohn

    @GadgetJohn

    The 12v full system in my campervan cost around £2.5k and the power station is currently half that cost with 95% of the power of my 12v system. So there’s no chance you can build your own power station for less.
