DA hopes for speedy conclusion of coalition talks
DA spokesperson Solly Malatsi says the party is doing everything in
its power to ensure that by Friday June 14 there's an outcome on the
status of the negotiations on coalitions.
Malatsi says the announcement of the date of the start of the seventh
parliament by Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has shortened the amount of
time left for negotiations.

But what you fail to understand is that people are turning to crime because of the dire economic situation. If that can be fixed a lot more people won't have a reason to become criminals. What the president of whatever country says is irrelevant because South Africa is not that country. Our demographics, history and economy are unique and therefore we can't just do what other countries are doing for the heck of it. This gives the same vibes as people who say the taxi industry should be dissolved when 2/3 of the country rely on taxis to move around.

@@skanaraki2161 the taxi industry prevents government from applying cheaper, safer modes of transport for the masses by extortion, corruption and blackmail. Those that lose their jobs in the taxi industry can get jobs in the new transport industries. And without proper policing and rule of law, the economy can never progress. Law and order leads to improved economic growth in a capatilistic society.

We need policy alignment before considering a GNU. Policy alignment should dictate government formation. If we reject the radical policy ideas emanating from the EFF and MK, those parties must be left in the cold. The ANC got us into this mess. Therefore, many of their policies must be ditched, too, and replaced with policies that are progrowth.

The key address bt Pres Rhamaphosa accepted that what they had been doing did not work and South Africas have decided what they want. Non Racial, Non Sexist, economic growth and fightng crime were key in the address.
