    As a vray user it still feels plasticy, but the software has come a long way. Most firm now use Enscape, or D5 because the entry barrier is so small and can produce good enough results. Higher end firms still outsource to big studios for the main images.

  • @silvercoloredlens

    @silvercoloredlens

    10 ай бұрын

    Yes, the entry barrier for the software is actually almost non-existent. If companies want to dish out quick renders or animations, D5 is up for the job. And yes, you're right. They have come a long way (and pretty fast updates, in my opinion), and I won't be surprised to see huge improvements from them very soon. 🙂

    Chaos V-Ray does not produce higher quality renders than D5 when you consider apples-to-apples timeframes (and among advanced rendering solutions with similar capabilities, it's all about the amount of time/ray iterations). Escape isn't close and shouldn't be considered in the same sentence as the other two. FWIW, I'm a software developer that's written ray-trace algorithms.
