Great video, thank you. The info on gems was valuable, but what was also really valuable on the terminology used in D4. I learnt what several things were, or what type of damage or status is meant by that term. Do you have a video on explaining the terminology of D4? Cheers!

Rubies on my armour have been better feeling than barrier generation

I use Sapphire (Blue) as Blizzard/Ice Mage. I make my opponents vulnerable sometimes. But I always do CC. Chill, freeze, push them away, slow them down etc.

I like to use Sapphires in my armor on my Druid. He spends most of his time with the Unstoppable buff (Earthen Bulwark, Trample, Grizzly Rage) up so isn't worried about CC as much and has so many sources of Fortify that the damage reduction while fortified is the best bang for the buck defense wise for him. He also goes for the Exploit glyph in his first paragon board so he can reliably proc Vulnerable, and uses Emeralds in his weapon as a result. Before that he used Rubies for the Overpower damage.

My Blood, Reaper Skelly nerco has been going Emeralds in armour for thorns, getting to 50. Though topaz or rubies may be needed in WT3.

Does server lag count as crowd control?

What’s the diff in the colored sockets? Malignant, brutal, vicious, infested etc.. do certain gems need to latch color? And what are cages hearts and malignant hearts?

Sapphires in armor for Barbs is godly as well as they almost always have fortify going

Does the diamond "increase ultimate damage" on weapon work with werewolf/ werebear? It seems like it would be good if it did cuz you'd have 12+ seconds of uptime. But i don't know how it would work since the ultimate itself transforms you instead of attacking as most ults do. I hope/ assume it applies to attacks done after transforming. I was gonna test it but i went on an upgrading spree and I'm broke. If you see this or anyone knows and can help then thank you in advance.

Does over power gem make more sense with banish lord talisman ?

How many gems can I have in one handed weapons, gloves, and boots?

What about skulls on weapons for survivability (like for HC characters)? Or is the effect to weak to be worth it?

problem with skull on weapons is it only gives life back when you kill enemies, so really only effective against trash mobs. useless against most bosses

Yeah gems need a change. They are way too specific. No general crit chance or damage but only on enemies with affects applied. Hopefully that changes with the expansion.

How about emeralds in armor for thorns build ?

When you get higher world tier do the gems drop higher? Or is the only way to get m max lvl at the jeweler?

Most world bosses are vulnerable when fighting and can’t get frozen then emerald comes more handy 💪🏾👑🐍

What's the difference between crowed controlled enemies and vulnerable enemies? When my barbarian stomps and stuns the group are they vulnerable or CC?

Once they become vulnerable, they become crowd controlled

Only exception I have is: My rogue is a girl, and I put diamonds in all slots because diamonds are a girls best friend.

Dot build what’s a dot ?

So, I’m playing a Barb and not seeing a ton of crits. Is the Barb more centered around a bleed build or something over a crit build? Like, is a crit build any good on Barb? Or would a bleed build be stronger?

there are pretty decent sources of crit chances on the tree. like the one where you gain crit chance to crowd controlled enemies, to enhance it massively, look for an amulet that gives 2 levels of it and when you max it it'll give 3 levels insted. I'm a HotA barb and i have pretty decent crit chance, 55% - 62%

Only if they slow or stun the enemy, or if you have passives somewhere else that cause poison to slow the enemy

I like life steal on weapons because it just keeps me alive. I appreciate my life being topped off as a wolf druid I'm in the thick of it getting hit a lot

So basically, don't use diamonds

dots = damage over time for the annoyed. if you know the acronym, you probably aren't watching this video.👎

As somebody who played d2 when it released. The only thing that diablo 2 was better at than 4, was the item system. I think 4 will fix that, hopefully anyways. We need much, much more build diversity.
