After all these years, her faith in the Lord has not diminished but is more firm through the storms that she has weathered in the public eye. I am in awe of God’s grace, power and love in using us as partners for the gospel. Listening to GEM’s current tour, she is really using her music to help direct us to God and His light.

上个月的评论真有意思，抛开艺人不谈，这首歌的词作者创造了远超歌曲中长度的词句。整个词是讲述爱情，进而讲述活着即是赞美，赞美生命和主。

In the previous year, she had lost her grandmother, and so, when the verse of "She tied you to the kitchen chair, She broke your throne and cut your hair, From your lips she drew the Hallelujah." It cut very deep. That's why she is the perfect voice for this song

I think I have found a gem. I like Lucy Thomas’s version, her voice is amazing. But I like GEM’s version more, she sang with so much emotion. Hope she found peace and comfort in God. I am trying to do the same. God Bless.

She's saying she's thankful for her religion that she was able to move on with her struggles. She tried going on vacation and avoiding the media but none of the methods work. At the end it was her faith in Christianity that saved her. That's why she was really emotional during her performance.

She lost her grandmother, who taught her how to sing in the previous year, on Oct 12, 2012 I believe. She tried everything, went on vacation to New York, tried to get over the loss of her own grandmother. Started drinking in her house (because she didn't want paparazzi finding her in clubs), invited friends and played the music as loud as possible. When police came, she would then mute the music. She struggled with this. She tried everything, but none could work. But then, she found that her music, and her fans are the only things that are the ones that kept her going. This happened way before the concerts in 2013, where all her Hong Kong concerts were sold out, that's why the sadness, because her grandmother never saw the success. In the music, she cried because she loved her grandmother so much, and love the Lord more than anything
