@@YourLocalPal666 it’s very easy,you get the same attention as a qb or linebacker ,you don’t have to worry about who’s going to throw to you ,you have a play to make right in front of you which is what I loved ,I got my ass kicked left and right at edge until I got better over camp and off season ,if you want some advice bro I’d say for offseason go to 7v7 camps because you have to learn to cover not saying you don’t but if they change formations you have to keep your spot I’ve had retarded coaches who act like they know what an edge is have tried having db’s play my spot and actual linebackers but they need edge rushers that’s why they have 2 linebackers at inside and one of them has to be faster than outside and middle ,try track 200’s they get you fast on your get off and motor try for distance too if you’d like ,go to the weight room everyday ,go to pass rushing camps as well they are fun and teach you better combos
I'm a freshman in high school and during the last game of our season, our defensive coordinator decided to put me at weak-side edge rusher, and I got a tackle that kept the ballcarrier out of the endzone.

Why does nobody talk about the 4 point stance
@-LadiesMan217-
4 жыл бұрын
Thomas Cohn the four point is good when taught right, but it can put you into a bad habit of having too much weight on your hands and putting you off balance. The minute you create a disadvantage, especially coming out of your stance, it can be bad if the O-lineman sees that and k ones he can just handle you.
@KingWillDog32
4 жыл бұрын
4 point is really good -, 1 and 8 technique in a 4 man front. If the D End is fast and long enough 4 point is pretty good too. The downside is it takes away a free hand to battle with.
@-LadiesMan217-
4 жыл бұрын
King Willdog I completely agree, once a good base for attack is set up. Your absolutely right about the free hand being taken away too, because it is vital in keeping enough space between you and the O-liner. The use of the 3 point stance becomes even more of an advantage when the lineman is in a two point stance. This creates amazing separation, which is why the two point is almost never taught because it takes away most of the offenses momentum and only being practical in pass situations.
@-LadiesMan217-
4 жыл бұрын
King Willdog if by the 8 technique you are also referring to the 9 as well, then yes I would say be a track star and take off as fast as possible whether it be one hand or two. As long as you are getting to the QB like your Girdle and cleats are on fire.
@KingWillDog32
4 жыл бұрын
@@-LadiesMan217- you're correct the 8 and the 9 tech need to be fast regardless of stance and you described it the best way possible. In the end it all comes down to the athlete. I prefer 3 point for all the points you have made. Leverage, hand fight, strength, techniques, play call and front called the 3 point gives the athlete the opportunity to make a play whether he makes the tackle or not
I had 10 tackles and 5 sacks and this is my first year I think I like it
I think another thing you can do at 6:21 is use your arm you have down once the ball is snapped, you use that arm to hold off the O Lineman, using your other arm to push him aside and get to the ball.
