You really are an incredible teacher. It seems that everything that you teach is extremely relative to what I am learning. Your content is excellent as it relates the differences between English and French. I am trying to learn French in a number of different ways. One of those is with a friend who only speaks French. That may sound great but it sure would be nice if she simple stated the meaning in English. I enjoy your lessons and wanted to thank you for creating such useful content.

Hi Dylane - Possibly this is explained elsewhere, but I'm not sure why in one of the examples "encore " comes after the pas, but "toujours" comes before the pas? Il n'a pas encore fini vs Il n'a toujours pas fini I thought the adverb always comes after the first verb. (And thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful videos!)

Very good question Stephen! Here they are a part of the negation and will keep this order. Ne ... pas encore = not yet Ne .. toujours pas = still not if the order changes, the meaning changes as well. Il ne comprend pas toujours ses leçons = He doesn't always understand his lessons. Merci! J'ai une question sur "encore" et "encore mieux que." Est-ce que ça veut dire, on peut utiliser "encore pire que" ? Et, "encore", il va avec "encore ... que"? I'm struggling to ask in French, but it's probably easier to ask in English. Is it safe to assume that the combination of ENCORE ... QUE creates the meaning of "even" in this case for encore? In other words, there needs to be a comparison for encore to be translated to mean "even." As always, your lessons are very helpful.

David that's a great question! Yes in this case it will translate to even. "Even ... that" Encore mieux que = even better that Encore pire que = Even worse that

Madame Dylane, Why the sentences : il n'a pas encore fini and il n'a toujours pas fini, have different structure ? Why not il n'a pas toujours fini ? I am confused.

There is no specific explanation, it's just how it is, one of those exceptions that doesn't make sense :(

Just to get things straight. If were to ask the question "Tu as jamais vu ce film ?", with the meaning "Have you never seen this movie?" You would have to add the n' also in spoken french?

Lukas if you want to keep the TU in spoken French, it's better if you keep the n' = Tu n'as jamais vu ce film ? But if you want to speak faster and remove the n', you should shorten tu to t' = t'as jamais vu ce film ? I hope it helps :)
