for me, it's not only that, it's also thanks to the massive amount of formerly-modern-and-new, now-very-old-and-obscure references! for example, the guy with the fedora and red-and-black combo, at the 3rd left row, is cosplaying as Shotaro Hidari, a main character in Kamen Rider W, which got a new anime (FUUTO PI) made as its sequel! the gal (or guy? the video is too low res for me to see clearly) next to him is cosplaying as Yowane Haku, a fan-made (that actually turned into an official) derivative/spin-off of Hatsune Miku!

Ace Edge anyone can learn a dance if its already made, like people say "mm white boi cant dance" but in fact they can if they learn the proper moves to the dance haha, it may take a while, or maybe you arent as fit as everyone (same lmao) so you might take a little longer or you dont have much time in a day or something. but trust me if you put solid time into learning a dance you will. look up tutorials on the dance you want to learn even, thats how im getting down "matroyshka" by miku and gumi

This dance is SO difficult and most of the time the people participating in this kind of flash mob or dance group were NOT trained dancers AT ALL, just a bunch of fans who decided to do something cool together. This is crazy how old gen z is getting. Ive never been to Japan but i remember weeb culture (back then it was an insult) in the late 00s and early 2010s, it was the birth of non comic related cosplay. If you cosplayed outside of japan you were labelled harshly, flash mobs like this didnt even exisr in the States. I think it's so fucking cool how millennial make all the things people are embarassed about more natural. Body and culture positivities and every aesthetic is welcomed. Now gen z has adopted it and is expressing themselves how THEY want. I love our generations ♡
