This is the only traditionalist song I really like. And I’m a progressive, I like it because I agree with the economic parts of it, people should own land and start families if they want. A bit hazy on the sexual side of the song ( people though-out history slept around, just watch Barry Lydon, or read your average Civil War solider’s memoirs) but the part I really love is the ending versus. It just sort of shows that people are people we all have something in common, we love to party

Classical Progressive. You pick and choose what part of history you like and you ignore the rest. You take examples out of extreme exceptions and make it the norm. Barry Lydon is a Hollywood movie. It is not historical truth. And how many memoirs of the Civil War have you read? Out of the 3 million men who served, you have the information and knowledge available to draw an average? Considering the fact that you take Barry Lydon and anything Hollywood does as historical truth, I very much doubt you do. Before penicillin and antibiotics. Before the condom. Before HIV medication. Sexuality was extremely chaste for the average person, especially with women. Across Europe from the Early Middle Ages to the start of the Industrial Revolution, the average age for first intercourse was 25. And the overwhelming majority would only ever have one partner, unless separated by death obviously. Yes you had outliers. But they were just that, outliers. Progressives are people with no knowledge, no context, and with no morals. I humbly suggest you escape that cult.
