☆。*。☆。。 I'am french and I'am back from vacation in Normandy, and I took pictures of Omaha beach, Utha beach, D-Day landing beaches etc....how emotional it was...so sad...many thanks to these soldiers, these young soldiers who came to set us free, they sacrifice themselves for my country ▶ My friendships and my all gratitude from a Frenchwoman.◀ GOD BLESS YOU ☆。*。☆。。

I am watching this as we are locked down due to COVID - 19 in the UK, I have to say having been to the beaches now for the last 5 years and the memories we take each time we go this video has given us a really different perspective on the scale and the layout of the areas. The Point Du Hoc footage is incredible. I hope you get a chance to more of this amazing work and share it with the world. Because the world should know the pain and sacrifice young men had to go through in securing the freedoms we have today. If watching this film does not inspire anyone to go and visit these sites I don't know what will. Looking forward to seeing more footage from your channel.

My dad was with the 147th combat engineers. He landed on omaha beach the early morning of june 6th. I'm looking through a photo album of his from WW2, I see a pic of a pillbox and he wrote a caption that says "we landed 100 yrds from here". I can't discern which pillbox it is in the video tho. My dad passed 4-1-13. Damn, i miss you dad. Thanks for everything.

Thank you for this. A long film? A worthy film. A worthy film. Some of my uncles fought on this beach. Because I am of Mexican descent, I would have been considered a "racial inferior" by the filthy Nazi regime. They would have either let me starve to death, worked me to death or experimented on me to death. I am free because of men, women and even children who fought against the Nazi. I am free because of them. I am free.

When I lived in Pennsylvania there was a guy in Columbus New Jersey he had a farm or a lot of land he had a hundred times more then what you see in this video he had B-52's... he had fighter planes, tanks he had half tracks, jeeps the list goes on forever plus he had a 12 fence around his property you could only see these things from the road I guess he got them there by taking them apart as far as the huge planes and putting them on a truck and dropping them on his huge property...Was like WW2 in his back yard truly amazing...After he died everything was sold off they wanted $10 to walk in the gate...Not sure what things sold for but I heard he got them all there after WW2 was over they had people with walkie talkies surrounding his whole property to make sure nobody got in free or took anything... people would come in with flatbeds and take away half tracks makes you Wonder where a life time of hard work went....🤔🤔

Watched this video in horror at what they've done to the Normandy invasion front, I've been there 4 time's in the 90's and everywhere was original, how it was during the fighting, practically untouched, the original Pegasas Bridge was still in place, but now for the sake of tourism there are carparks, buildings, gift shops, cafés, concrete paths everywhere, metal railings on bunker roofs, they have dececrated the whole area.

Very well done, soft unobstructive music. For those who asked, yes these are craters from bombs.. Many more of them fell there but these exploded at the right depth I guess, I wish you could correct the spelling of “POINTE du Hoc” not ponte du Hoc. You could delete and re-upload your video, to me it seems worthwhile especially because it is in your title. Yes, the walk paths are too clean now ! I made my own video in 2010 and it still looked relatively unchanged by the passage of time. Thank you for your efforts. I was in France at that time !...15 yrs old !

It's a wonderful video, especially in showcasing the sacrifice of the Americans liberating Europe. However, as is so common in American and French accounts, the British and the rest of the Commonwealth barely exist. Their graves remain unknown, unvisited (though wonderfully cared for). Their contribution to victory remains implicit only in those sinking caissons of the Mulberry Harbours.

Exactly. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about the draft-dodging Trump pushing America toward a Nazi-style fascist regime. How close we came to Hitler's Germany makes me shudder to think. The January 6th assault on the joint session of Congress was America's burning of the Reichstag. Democracy held by a thread that day.
