The Shader-Kai has long been on of my favorite playable races. In my current campaign, Shader-Kai Warlock has a Pit Fiend patron. The mix of Shadowfell and Nine Hells lore make it a really fun really dark build. It's currently help to drive the antagonists portion of our game as the patron is chaotic evil but the character is chaotic neutral. Keep up the good work my friend. Really looking forward to the other Liches videos too. ^_^

It has to be intimidating starting a channel in a crowded subject like D&D. I think you will do well. Your videos are informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to seeing the channel grow.

YES BLOOD WAR....I have a sort of obsession with it, 2/3 of my DnD collection is just fiends, way too many to use for a DnD game but still not enough to fuel the Blood War!
Always like pit fiends, just the very idea of them is super interesting to me!
My only experience with a Pit Fiend was in high school, sophomore year, AD&D (1st edition). A newbie DM partnered with the one kid fully invested in the game. The newbie was vengeful because his favorite PC died in a scenario I ran. We were told we were entering a Red Dragon’s lair. We found what we thought was a sleeping dragon when it was an illusion masking the presence of the Pit Fiend. The exit closed preventing escape. Our goose was cooked. My elven fighter/magic user was max levels 8/11 if memory suits me. I took it in stride while the freshman brat laughed uproariously. If ever there were a fiend I think it sat across the table from me. 1e Pit Fiends were brutal because the magic resistance then was wicked. All or nothing percentage.

Great story... the fiends are about as close to an ultimate single enemy as you can get before jumping into "deity and devil" territory. Thanks for sharing!

Storyteller, you speak of interesting things. You just earned a listener. As a 5e DM of several years i really appreciate this boosted version of the Pit Fiend, and i Love DPS-Auras. This gave me a bit of a spark for 5e. Please keep it up with these heavily CR boosted Devils, Demons and anything really. This Maxxed Out version with LA is more like what the OG should have been to actually be a CR21, because 5e CR-system suuux. Good job. Keep em coming 🍻

Hearing a listener say they gained a spark is the PRIMARY reason I created this channel... thank you for listening and the kind words... and yes the CR 5e system has "issues" :)
Also if you want to keep consistent with the Baator related fluff, hellfire's fire damage isn't reduced by fire resistance, and immunity only halves it.

Not in the first 500 subs but just got in at 647. I enjoy the content so far, especially the lich series that's been released so far. I just started playing dnd with in the past year, and I'm trying to avoid too many spoilers, but when it comes to lore, I always loved learning more about fantasy worlds that we play in. Just wanted to say thanks for the videos you produced, even if I can't watch anything to specific when it's in my games (happy most of it is custom world and only used the rules, mobs, and dragons from the books which I know already, and they implemented minor changes to fit their world)

Excellent suggestion. I only briefly touched on the Balor in the Pit Fiend video... so definitely putting this on the list! Thank you!

Pit fiends can be very versatile in a game. They can be lower level bosses and dangerous mini bosses or special minions for higher level adventuring parties.

So who wins between a pit fiend and a balor?
@RichesandLiches
Жыл бұрын
Without running the sim... in my mind the Balor, just thats just a top of the head guess. Maybe we can do a video on that one... if pit fiend burn out has not set in. :) What do you think?
If you're a hero and think hell is the best place for a fair fight..... .... then you're obviously a thick skulled barbarian. Hell should never be a place anyone seeks to go for any reason. Just being in that place should be quickly fatal if not for serious magical and spiritual protection.
I think people are getting the feel of at the first of the nine hells wrong. Think less Dante and think more first half of Full Metal Jacket. Having gone through it, I always thought Hell was basic training and the more I think about the more I think Avernus is Camp Lejeune.

In my game, 10,000 mortals wouldn't be able to touch ONE of these in combat. Demons & deities are so far beyond any adventurer's capabilities, to suggest otherwise is laughable.

I agree. As a DM even the weak undead in my game were very dangerous (very, very rare) and had negative energy that could scorch life to some degree. Mere skeletons and zombies left foot prints on our plane that could be followed the next day. Their negative energy could not be tolerated here and it left scars. It made priests that much more necessary. But being in hell? The magic needed for 10 minutes of survival here (without a fight) should be impressive. The environment should be natural for a demon or devil but deadly to humans. Breathing and normal sight should be impossible. It should be like walking into an oven with random attacks from falling lava rocks, rising pillars of flame, breaking puddles of magma, random swirling clouds of black, hot ash.... Movement for a human should be dangerous at best. No hero would even want to listen to the screams of torment from this plane of evil. The concept of hell should not be just fire and hot. It should be an evil, spiritually wicked kind of hot energy. Draining on the body, mind and soul. The thought should cause terror, anguish and possible madness. Only a most evil being would open a gate to this place and connect it to ours.

@@firesniperbullet2 - I would think the environment would be dangerous enough for them. Being in that kind of place alone should be dangerous to your body, mind and soul. Imagine creatures that are native to darkness, negative energy, fire, smoke, ash and their normal state is one of hate and murder? Imagine just trying to see thru that? The ground would be like walking on hot lava at times, maybe breaking thru? Attacked by their native birds, bugs? I think it is unimaginable honestly. On our world things are relatively calm most of the time. We're DESIGNED for this place. That place would be a passive hostile energy constantly attacking us from every angle, sucking our life force every moment.
@redfaux74

Warren Bartlett - And an actual deity? 🤣🤣🤣 I didn't think about that part of your comment. One who doesn't NEED to breathe, eat, dependent upon gravity for your, motion, blood flow, senses? The minor attacks a deity could throw at you would be so disorienting as to make you useless in so many ways. How do you attack if you cannot see, stand, move, breathe, detect colors, sense direction, depth? You couldn't even defend yourself at all. When the wind, ground is your enemy..... give it up.
