    Unfortunately anyone but the caster goes right through it, which could be even better for wrestling since you can pretend to swing without them knowing it can do that, then as it lands through them you can grapple with advantage.

    Your metal folding chair is as anachronistic as the chairs described by the cantrip's author, so at least you're entering into the spirit of the thing.

    Summon a chair as a bonus action and then cast catapult as your action on the chair. Also seems how the cantrip is called summoned chair that means you're just summoning someone's chair throwing it at something and then it gets sent back as a broken chair... If a player of a mine did this often then I will start having them notice broken chairs in the world

    Clever. I would presume it could, as it's still your hand. I would think you'd have to throw the hand at the target, or else hope it somehow doesn't notice the hand slowly crawling up to them. The problem is, there isn't enough information about what the hand can do, whether it can move under its own power, etc. I'm having a hard time imagining ways to actually use this spell. I mean, I doubt it can climb or carry things, so wherever you place it it's just going to be _a hand on a surface._ And keep in mind you can't SEE through your hand -- so if you're not in the same room actively watching it, it would essentially be like fumbling around in the dark with your fingers, not knowing where it is or what's going on.

    The summon chair cantrip. It says that it is rooted to the spot where it is cast. So if I could make the couch and I had an immovable rod... Would I be able to make an invisible seat in thw air? (I said couch because the other chairs are three legged and wouldn't be able to attach to the rod.) Also would it create a small platform that only you can stand on? And to make it so they can't grab the rod you could cast grease on the rod?

    I would modify the samurai to deal 1 point of slashing damage being the equivalent of a paper cut. So having 5 of them active at a time could maybe deal 5 points of damage. And instead have the dog point towards the nearest creature of a specific type within 120 feet and if you want you can choose to have it of walking towards it. If it reaches the position of the creature even if invisible/hidden the dog barks. I would modify the Violet card to cause disadvantage on the next attack or saving throw. That would be more in line with cantrip level abilities. Because blinded is too powerful since it grants advantage against your as well as you having disadvantage.

    I can totally see a version of card throw being made and used by Wild Magic Sorcerers. Maybe something like: Mote of Discord Components: S, M (A small cup or bowl) Range: 30 ft. Damage dice: 2d4 (3d4, 4d4, 5d4) You create a tiny bead of chaotic energy that changes colors rapidly and dissipates quickly once its been cast. Make an attack roll against target creature, if it hits, roll for damage accordingly. Once you have done so, choose one result from those dice and use it to determine the damage type according to the following: 1: Fire 2: Cold 3: Lightning 4: Acid If any of the dice match, add 1 damage for each die that matches. (For example: if I were level 11 and rolled 4d4 and the results were 4 4 4 2, I could choose to have the cantrip deal either Acid or Cold damage, and the bonus damage would be 3, due to there being three total 4s among the results.)

  • @0Fyrebrand0

    @0Fyrebrand0

    4 жыл бұрын

    The spell dictates that the water must be "in an open container," which is not how I would describe a living body. But I would also argue that the "water" in someone's body is not pure water, but rather a chemically-bonded compound from which the water cannot be separated. Just like how "Heat Metal" doesn't affect the iron in one's bloodstream, nor does "Speak With Animals" allow you to understand a foreign language a humanoid is speaking just because people are scientifically classified as "animals."

    my opinion: 1st: even if only 1 at a time is allowed, the effect is to strong to have ALL THESE from 1 cantrip. just the samurai alone is worth its own cantrip. 2nd: the ability modifier makes it badly scaling. Having it do a d8 would be more balanced out between the levels (but stil d4 for violet). It might also be cool to make it d6 and give the ability to choose damage type, giving it versatility like no other cantrip, yet also the lowest die. 3rd: I see no problem with bees, but it's like a reskinned poison spray? 4th: aquabolt is good, it should totally exist. The d6 compensates for the extra control, so wel done. 5th: it has its uses, but I doubt many people would take it since the weapons aren't magical. 6th: it isn't flashed out yet, but from how you proces this it is either just about the trickery clerics channel divinity feature, or it is almost useles. As written no movement is specified, meaning no movement? 7th: this is a genious cantrip. It has useful level scaling , yet it isn't to strong to be a cantrip. 8th: there's currently no concentration cantrips, but for what it does it seems balanced. It only works on creatures that rely on sight and only on you, enough restrictions for this stealth ability. I do think that arcane tricksters will like it though. 9th: summon chair is a funny flavor one. I would probably have it on a tavern brawler eldritch knight, where he summons the chair in order to beat people with it as if he were a wwe fighter. to bad the chair doesn't work like that though. 10th: not being able to slip is 1 thing, but not being able to be pushed/fall over is something entirely else. It singlehandedly counters the main advantage from the grease spell, so it's to strong as is.

  • @stm7810

    @stm7810

    3 жыл бұрын

    I'd rule that grease or even a wet floor would prevent this as it is a liquid layer between the person and surface, though also I think it should only be for balance, not for avoiding external forces like a push.
