Hopefully I'm not telling you something you already know, but if you lift the bolt handle up, hold it, pull the trigger while lowering it, you can decock it without destroying your firing pin. Besides the pain I felt every time you did that the detail you went into in this video was great.

Thanks for the comparison. I'm looking at getting one of these as my first rifle and it was good to see this vid.

I have a 452 American, 457 Lux and 457 Varmint. I do like the 457 safety and bolt throw better, but the 452 is the most accurate so far. Nice review. Subscribed.

Two very nice rifles. I'm looking to purchase my first CZ .22lr I'm leaning towards the 457 American, although there's a certain charm to the Lux I keep going back to. . Thanks for for review.

Thanks for this. I am considering a 457 in 17hmr. My 455 22lr is factory threaded 1/2x20 and has rubber butt stock.

CZ makes good rimfire rifles. I suggest them to anyone wanting an affordable, accurate bolt gun. Having the barrel swap out for other caliber ones without a bolt change is also an awesome feature. Even the 452 and 453 were great guns.

What that's sweet I didn't know you could do that. I'm looking at this as a first rifle and was going to buy a bigger cz for bigger game hunting but maybe I can do it all with the one rifle and barrel swap.

@@mckricks1 both the 455 and 457 have swappable barrels within the rimfire category. They use the exact same barrels and barrel swap system. So 22lr, 17hmr, and 22wmr. The new cz 600 line was supposed to also allow this feature. But was recalled and had their barrels epoxied in place due to safety concerns with it not being swapped right.

Have the 455 and the 457 varmints. Both great guns. The safety on the 457 is a big improvement in ease of use. 455 safety is still stiff after 1500 rounds. No difference in accuracy.

My 455 is dark walnut in color and with its heavy barrel this is a very accurate rifle. The 457 has some upgrades that are nice but for the price I’ll stick with my 455.

I like the 455 with my optisan viper scope. It is simply right on target.

I have a 455 Varmint and prefer its almost-Mauser style safety and its rear receiver appearance. For accuracy, my 455 is almost as accurate as my Sako 75 Varmint in .222 - from five shots at 100 yards it will make a single ragged hole.

For accuracy and handling I'd take the 457, but for beauty I'd take the old BRNO 2E.

I actually prefer the plainer stocks of the 455, but I think I will suck that up for the sake of the improvements in the 457, despite being relatively minor.

In my opinion the 455 is a much more robust action ... definitely much more my liking ... grew up with a 455 action 22lr.

Just for the sake of comparison, ( not arguing with you mind ) I find all my CZ rifles to be very accurate,..opps, let me clarify this, I only have two 455's in .22 and .one 455 22 Mag. and a 457' in .17 HMR. I think it depends a lot on the brand and type of ammunition we use. I really enjoy shooting with my CZ's.
