Work at a large privately owned gun store in Pennsylvania.... I've seen more 22s than I can count.... The 457 is my absolute favorite rimfire hands down.... No competition. I'd sell my kidney before I'd sell mine. (457 American with a striped grain Turkish walnut stock.) Looks as good as it shoots.

If I heard him correctly he said the threads are 1/2 x 20. We are 1/2x28 for our small caliber threads. Do you know if the synthetic comes here in 1/2x28?

Have one in 16” with a Hawke caliber specific scope and scirocco moderator . It’s a great little rifle for rabbits and squirrels and I love it !

Well purchased this week, tried Ruger and Sako. Stuck with CZ. Zeroed to 50 yards with a basic Hawke scope, a bog standard silencer with subsonics it is a real tack driver. I tried a hundred and was getting two inch grouping straight away, need to fiddle with the scope a wee bit. Very pleased and for the price, and future options for "pimping" up, it is the best value rimfire out there imo.

Probably this is one of the most accurate 22lr rifle.

Excellent review. I bought a CZ 457 Royal and I love the gun, but it is a bit too pretty for me to hunt with on rainy or snowy days, living in coastal Alaska that is most days. I think I will buy the synthetic version so I have something to take out in poor conditions guilt free.

Hi Chris What scope rings do you use on the CZ 457 with the Element Helix scope?

I would be interested in knowing the height of the scope mounts and the brand (Hawke Scope mounts in "high" or "medium" height)???

Actually - if you use a torque wrench and torque the screw the same every time - the return to zero is spot on. Tested it many times on my own cz457 synthetic

Just goes to show, you don't need to fork out Anschutz money to get a tack driver, 👍

Enjoyed your video. I am looking for a light weight dedicated squirrel hunting rifle, how is the accuracy of this rifle straight out of the box without the silencer? I understand silencers can affect the harmonics of the barrel just like tuners and do not want to start that debate but would truly like to know the 457 synthetic's thinner barrel accuracy straight out of the box. I like the weight of the rifle and synthetic stock for use in adverse weather conditions but accuracy is my key objective. I'm a little concerned with the thin barrel profile's accuracy but do not want a heavy bull barrel while carrying in the woods. Thanks in advance.

Your rings are installed incorrectly. Those are Warne 3/8 - 11mm rings. The dot on the side clamp indicates whether you have it set to 3/8 or 11mm. Your rear ring, dot pointing down, is set to 11mm while the front ring, dot pointing up, is set to 3/8.

Is there a reason to go with heavy varmint barrel or to stick with this one?

I have the same but in 22 Mag. It shoot an inch at 100, when I can. It's my truck gun, barrel has about 40 rds. Through it, it will get better

so looking at the accuracy of this synthetic version there is really no need to get the varmint heavy barrel?

Very good review. I am turning my interest from airguns to cal 22 Lr very recently so I am looking for a rifle accurate but not too expensive. Is the CZ 457 a good option?

Do yourself a favour. Get a CZ 457 Royal. Faultless. I opted for .22 with a 16” barrel. Great looking gun too!

Yes I’m debating between the two. However I’m also unsure on if to get the 20” barrel or 16” as I’ll be out in the field at night shooting rabbits

@@michaelbrown17 Hi Michael, well just to let you know I went to my local gun store which had both the CZ457 & the T1X in stock. I ended up buying the CZ457 Synthetic 20" as it felt much more comfortable to hold in my hands. I just think the 20" barrel just looks better. I now have a Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 scope & Wildcat panther moderator. £25 bipod and £16 sling both from Amazon which does the job. The CZ bolt action and trigger are fantastic. It is very accurate at the range. I have yet to go hunting yet, but will do by end of this month. I think you cant go wrong with either rifle, but I ❣my CZ, best buy ever...

Maybe a stupid question, but can you just fire outside (on targets or rabits) in the UK with this rifle?

Is this CZ 457 Synthetic Rimfire Rifle a good alternative to the Tikka T1X MTR, or is the latter still a better rifle for target shooting due to the thicker barrel? The barrel in the CZ 457 Synthetic seems rather thin compared to the ones that come with the CZ 457 Varmint or CZ 457 Varmint MTR.

If you buy the cz you’ll always wish you’d bought the Tikka. Buy a Tikka and don’t look back unless you pass a Bergara B14r...then buy the Bergara.
