This is the first video I've seen on changing out CZ 457 barrels that even mentions, let alone demonstrates, the metal space in the action and how it interacts with the barrel.

Metal "spacer" is same for all the calibers. Only thing that matters is plastic spacer in magazine well. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PUT METAL SPACER OUT OF THE ACTION. IT IS RECOMENDED TO LOOSEN REAR MAGAZINE WELL SCREW SO THE METAL SPACER DOES NOT PUT PRESSURE TO THE BARREL WHEN REMOVING. AFTER BARREL INSTALATION JUST SLIGHTLY TIGHTEN THE REAR MAGAZIE WELL SCREW SO THE SPACER IS TIGHT AGAINST THE BARRREL.

I really appreciate you making this video. I just ordered the .17 HMR barrel for my CZ 457 and wasn't sure how to swap it. Also, how quiet will the .17 HMR be with a suppressor, and is it even worth it?

obviously it won't get the subsonic quietness like a standard velocity 22 since it's a high velocity round, but it will tame the volume quite a bit and direct the sound downrange more

Hi Chris, really helpful video - thank you. I’ve swapped the original HMR barrel for the .22 LRP barrel on mine. Didn’t realise there was a metal spacer inside the action. I didn’t get a different one with my LRP miniset - does that matter? Should the spacer stay put regardless of which caliber and barrel I’m using?
