I love Cyndi lauper she's real she speaks what she feels you can tell she's not fake I've been listening to her music my whole life and I think she's funny too she makes me laugh

I'll say this, the girl CAN SING!

Yeah, except what period of her life are you talking about? Because I actually haven't seen her wear black in years. She didn't wear it much in the 90s. I think that was like the mid-2000s where she wore lots of black. Weird.

@Screaming Mimi's I follow her on Instagram and have seen lots of her interviews, concert footage, etc. From what I have seen, she has had lots of interesting outfits and hair colors in more recent years as well as in the past. I do get what you're saying about her in the 90's, and I agree that Cyndi is a superb artist who doesn't get enough respect. I also think that not being a megastar may have freed her up to experiment more with different genres--blues, standards, country and even writing the Tony-winning score for Kinky Boots! Not to mention her charitable work with True Colors. I think Cyndi is a legend, and I'm glad she was inducted into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame. I fear she'll never be included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a singer, and that's a terrible shame, but I don't think it's on her. She went her own way and has produced quality work for decades.

You were great in 1984 and you still are.

Her book was truly fascinating and you could feel her fun vibe. I highly recommend it!

I get that she doesn't want to be labeled as old, but some things that aren't broken don't need to be fixed. Singing it the same old way doesn't mean she's a has been, it just means that her voice is timeless. At least that's how I see her.

Incredible Memoir, wish I could go back in time and make all the bad stuff go away that hurt her.... but that might change the wonderful person she was and has become... such a conflict to my soul... she is so inspiring and I cannot wait to see her in just a few weeks! A childhood crush and a mid-life love, an eternal tattoo on my heart she will remain.

I didn’t either. I also somehow had missed she’d gotten married and had a kiddo. The fact some don’t know about her private life probably speaks volumes about her. She’s not been involved in scandal that draws attention. Love her.

I've always loved Cyndi Lauper. Always have Always will. Girls just wanna have fun is my favorite song of hers.

It's nice to see she is beautiful inside and out. Just a good person. I am truly a fan.

She was the epitomy of pop rock. She is the color of the 80s. She shines the colors. And the 80's was the best decade for music video and sound changes that ever existed! And I was never more alive than when I was out listening to all the one hit wonders and the coming of pure talent from every direction. It was MAGICAL! Every moment. And will always be the best days of freind's, life and family!

"How many people live in the past, and are successful in the present?!" This is why I'm so proud to be Gen X. This was what I grew up with. The people I listened to weren't just talented, they weren't just intelligent, some of these people were absolutely brilliant who can be quoted for saying epic things. Another off the top of my head is Pete Burns. Pop music started and died in the 80s. What we even then saw as disposable garbage music is absolute GOLD that will go down in history forever, and I am so proud of my generation's contributions to this world.

If you grew up with it then it wasn’t your generation that made it, it was the ones before.

The song Little Boxes was what Cyndi broke away from. I loved it when she said I don't care what anybody thinks of me anymore. Such a cool gem!

I’ve been a fan since I was 4 years old. At that age I was drawn to her for her voice, colors and knew that she was just amazing.

God bless Cyndi 🌟 she was a role model for my break away from corporate life & slide into the creative field. I’m a lucky bastard , too 💋

@Screaming Mimi's Where did you hear that? Nobody keeps their style of dress the same forever. A lot of things that were fresh and unusual aren’t, when you keep doing exactly the same thing. How many rockers do you see in their exact ‘80s style now?

Thank you for being. Strong. Selfless when important to be that, and honoring the women who helped make you formidable. We all need that, and you’ve made a difference.

Cyndi is beyond awesome. Great sister love and her mom looks amazing. I love how shes just real. I like at the start shes not thinking of the money. She is a little quirky,,,,,lol I love quirky so pure. Personally I think my favorite song is True colors. So much passion when she sang it. I only know now as an adult and because of youtube what that song is about.. Still my favorite though I like them all,lol

I absolutely adore Cyndi! I grew up in NY, late 70's so I relate to her character. I have a huge framed poster with her laying on a chase sofa hanging on my wall. I think it's a record promo for "True Colors" album, 1986. She's so uniquely creative & gifted with increadable vocal skills! Such a brilliant artist with mega rock star qualities. It would be awesome if she did something with Pink.
