Cyclone Rake Z10 for my Kubota BX2360. Delivery, assembly, quality, building a hitch, & MDA mounting

I just purchased a Cyclone Rake Z-10 for behind my Kubota BX-2360 to replace a pull type sweeper that I previously used. This is a video about the delivery, assembly of the unit, issues with the powder coating, building a custom hitch for my BX, and building a mount for the MDA to fit my deck. I could find no videos about how it was assembled before purchasing one so I made this to share.

Hard to believe but 6 yrs later this is probably still the best instructional video for the cyclone rake!

This is without a doubt the most comprehensive and informative video on the net concerning the Cyclone Rake. I am not anywhere near being mechanically inclined and have used your video every step of the way. Thanks very much for making it as well as your other one complimenting customer support. Really good stuff.!!

Generally made for picking up leaves in the fall but damn, that's some nice looking grass. 👍

Great video, I'm saving up for one for next fall. I hope you let the company know they need to do a better job packing.

They have added a lot of steps to this. I got mine 5 years ago and didn't have to assemble the latch brackets. I got the upgrade on the spreaders to hold the extra hose and rake on top. There is a pin on the bottom of the bracket as well. I did't have any issues with bad powder coat or nicked paint like you got. This was one of my biggest purchases other than my mower. There is a definite learning curve using this thing. The MDA is the worst part of the whole thing, it's a huge pain removing the grass deflector each time to attach the MDA.

I purchased my Cyclone Rake to pull behind my Gravely Zero-turn mower but found the information here very pertinent. I don't have the tools to build these types of connections, but we'll see when I put it together how well things go.

I sure hope that they have improved their shipping procedures by now. Just ordered the Z10 today and they haven't shipped it out yet. Think I'll inform them that if it comes damaged that they're going to get it back if it's all messed up. The cost of this machine as you mentioned, should have better shipping protection.

i have a 20 year old Cyclone rake the 200 gallon model mainly the chrome parts are getting surface rust on them. so far had to replace the caster wheels, rear collector brace, the collector bag as the zipper broke, as well as the engine from the tired Tecumseh to the Chonquing ratio power mfg. harbor freight predator honda clone 212cc motor. as i needed the shaft adapter to fit the 3'4 shaft to the cyclone rake's 1 inch impeller. but its cheaper than its proper Briggs & Stratton repower. as now briggs and stratton their quality went through the hayside. on engines. as the muffler on the predator engine the pipe had to be cut and modified to clear the blower housing but higher so it clears the blower housing and the spark plug access. but its now got more vacuum power with this motor. mine is a 2000 model when they had the early caster pads. from the single pin wheels they had then.

i have a cyclone rake commercial was from 2000 was pre 2006 originally had a underpowered Tecumseh engine it was got used. originally had a zipper collector bag and was a non tapered collector bag as at the time when it was made the jet path vacuum system and the xl and z10 models did not come out. as the cyclone rake from 1996-early 2000 had tecumseh engines the caster wheels were a smooth tread and a welded bar that inserted into the chassis secured to the bearings by pins was 2000 they used caster pads but casters by an outside mfg the ones on mine i had to replace both casters whth the cyclone rake made parts next was replacing the collector bag to the classic model specs, then the engine was replaced to a predator 212cc with a 3/4 to 1 inch shaft adapter and heck yeah has more power than the tecumseh. as of 2020 had to replace the impeller it was shot the original early 4 blade miracle impeller was replaced to their 5 blade hi flow miracle impeller further boosted the vacuum power. the machine is 20 years old and Woodland power products still makes parts but purchasing a new model they need to pack more carefully.

Thanks for the vid- what a pain in the ass. I wanted one of these but it makes the mower so cumbersome since it doesn't pivot

This guy is brilliant. "Rather than spend an extra $50 for a hitch adaptor I saved that burdensome added cost by making one on my own using my personal plasma table and welding machine that cost me thousands and thousands."
