Vuelta a Espana 2000
The 55th Vuelta a España (Tour of Spain), a long-distance bicycle stage race and one of the three grand tours, was held from 26 August to 17 September 2000. It consisted of 21 stages covering a total of 2,904 km (1,804 mi), and was won by Roberto Heras of the Kelme-Costa Blanca cycling team. The defending champion, Jan Ullrich, withdrew after the 12th stage while sitting in fourth place to prepare for the Olympic Road Race.
