12 million £ for a by-pass segment is a good park Resort upgrade trade off for another coaster installation year.

When I see the massive JCB building on the way to Alton Towers, I start getting excited because I’m nearly there 😂

We were meant to be going in March but the opening was delayed. It’s sad since we were really looking forward to it

That's why I love going to Alton Towers to see the scenery on the way and the little towns and places on the way makes the journey so satisfying and going up that huge hill towards Alton Towers is amazing

i havnt been to alton towers for at least two years. Watching this video really brought back some great memories!

Used to love going with school and going through the village brought back alot of memories seeing all the landmarks and knowing that we were close to the park 😂😂 I can not wait to get back

I have been to Alton towers many times. One time was on a school trip and once was when I won the junior chef competition at the rollercoaster restaurant. Even watching the parts where it is getting closer makes me feel excited for when I can go back

Amazing !! I live 4 hours away in a car, Alton Towers has always been my favourite theme park and we're so lucky to have it in the UK.

Living in London, I have so many fond memories of our yearly trips to Alton tower. The excitement after sitting in the car for 4 hours when you see the digger.

I love that since my family usually stay in uttoxeter when we go to alton towers so that was basically the same route we always take to get there

I pass a JCB when driving from Kings Island up north to Columbus thank you for sharing that about the company very fascinating!

Omg this makes me wanna go back sooo bad, hurry up and open again alton towers! As soon as we hit alton I always say the same thing "we're home!" Love it absolutely love it

Georgia Hollows for me it is 6 hours so I leave at like 3 am to make it before opening. I like the park and wished I lived next to it too. (Well close)

I live about four hours away, and I usually get to go every other year (was meant to go in June this year). We usually get a hotel for two nights and spend one day at Alton Towers and one at Drayton Manor. Wish I lived closer, my closest theme park is Paultons Park and that’s not thrilling enough for me and I’ve been there too many times!

Such a beautiful ride there. I enjoyed every minute of your ride and seeing the beautiful sights. The Village of Alton is the most beautiful!

I've never been to Alton Towers so it was particularly interesting seeing the surrounding area! You'd never know that a Theme Park was hiding behind all those Trees. Really enjoyed it!

Visited alton towers last year and stayed in Uttoxeter, was great and this was such a familiar route that we went to get to the theme park the 2 days we went.

Such a beautiful route, I miss a lot of this when driving there, so it’s nice to see.

Honestly this was so peaceful to watch, especially with the weather being as nice as it is. Keep safe Shawn and lovely video.

I drive to Alton Towers from the Midlands and takes around 1 hour 30 mins and it's such a beautiful drive 👌🏻 windows down, music up and just enjoy the surroundings 🤘🏻

It’s amazing how I recognise every single road 😂 I don’t pay much attention to the road while my dad drives but since we went to Alton Towers so often before lockdown I know most of the roads by sight. Missing it so much

that is a awsome video loved the facts about l certain land marks when i ever go to Alton towers i will be keeping my eye out for any of the land marks what you described in this video

Great video! I miss that route! I first took my future wife to Alton Towers back in 1997. It was our first trip away together. We’ve been going back there every year since as it’s our special place. We’ve been married for 16 years now and we still love the place! We always stay in the Premier Inn in Uttoxeter so we take that precise route when we visit the park. Thank you for your content. You’re always so upbeat which is exactly what we need right now!

I live in Derbyshire and last year I travelled around that area cleaning holiday cottages. I recognized Alton. Beautiful little village. Has a certain feel about it, if you get what I mean. Great video with lots of interesting facts. Thank you!

That was a nice change Shawn. What a lovely route. We always consider the JCB factory and the roundhouse as two important waymarkers. It was so sad to see the closed gates. Let’s hope it won’t be too long before we’re allowed back in.

I remember a school trip to Alton Castle, we did trekking and i could just see the most southern point of Galactica

It’s so interesting to see approaching Alton towers from the village of Alton itself, I come from East Yorkshire so I always travel from the north via Ashbourne
