Great video - I am doing a SF to LA trip at the end of the month so you're very inspirational to me.

I come from Germany and ride exactly this way. It was so great. But…. With no rain …..😊

Thanks for posting . Good video to share to friends so they can see what I was able to do on 2019 from Washington to San Diego. Why did they call it Legget my friend asked as we walked our bikes up the steep road. I said, I guess because you have to "leg-it" 😜. Tail winds!!

@@johnwelch557 Sounds like a good plan! Hop on the Southern Tier route for a bit? There is a loop in Austin (Texas Hill Country Loop) that looks like it could be a fun mini trip.

It was worth the hike there!

My inspiration for the day. Sitting on the couch THINKING I should go for a ride, I'll just watch a couple of youtubes until it warms up enough. It is one of those "unsettled" days, showing everything happening. Rain, lightning, sunshine whatever. Rad bike is on, cool. Now I WANT to ride. So heading out now. Thanks R&D the helping to get my fat ___ out the door.

@@radbikeadventure Just local, got down to the highway by the sea and got about 30 km on. Beat the rain drops, yeah! I just wanted to get out riding. Our weather has been rain lately, with wind so I have been hiding inside. Good weather is coming in a few days, I will get back to my 50 to 80 km a day then. Looking forward to that. So, any hints on where the future tour will be? Inquiring minds want to know. LOL You should come back to BC and see some more.

Yes definitely, having a good mindset on days like that is key! Rain will always pass and usually brings wonderfully clear days. Do you skip rainy days or push through when you are riding?

@@radbikeadventure When I cycled through center europe in 2017, It rained every day. I looked for hotels to stay at but camped about 50% of the time. At least at the hotels I could dry out. Cycled from Krakaw to the Rhine River in Germany about 2000km. thanks for posting your videos again

@@radbikeadventure A friend of mine was going to come over and have a drink with me, in the garden, but changed his mind even though we were going to keep distance from each other,, so spending it on my own with a few drinks and the T. V. for company. Thanks for the birthday wishes 😀

From Las vegas, many years ago,rode this route,passed thru these towns on a motorcycle during the summer.....,"spur of the moment" thing than....

There reason you couldn't drink the water at Standish is probably because no staff was on site to operate the water treatment system

Seems like the consensus is that going south down PCH is a bit... better? than going northward? Anyone gone northbound?

I did north and south. First north up to Legget from Fort Bragg, and foolishly thinking I'd simply take an Uber back from Leggett to Fort Bragg - got stuck in Leggett, found a motel, and next morning at the crack of dawn hit that mountain one more time going south back to Fort Bragg. It was an amazing 90 mile 2 day turnaround.

I don't have an affiliate for Kona, though that would be nice! Thank you for asking. Which bike are you looking at? Test rides are always great if you can find a shop that stocks them. Also always good to build a relationship with a local bike shop and buying a bike from them is a great way to do that!

Ya we were able to find them in Canada, NZ, and Australia, not sure on europe, since we were able to find delicious treats everywhere there and didnt need to stock up as much! Im not a big fan of tuna , but the mixed kind is quite tasty and is such a cheap alternative to prepackaged outdoor meals.

👆 Darin isn’t a big fan of tuna but I’ve forced it upon her lol. Can’t beat the protein and convenience factor! Even a tin can of the stuff ain’t so bad on weight once it’s empty...
