CYCLING EVENT GOES HORRIBLY WRONG!
Спорт
EPISODE #139
I'm off to take on the famous "Hell Of The Ashdown 2024" sportive over in Kent, UK. This is (hence the name) a hellish event, with a HELL of a lot of climbing on some treacherous roads at this time of the year... oh and its was freezing and wet too, just to add to the mix.
I don't end up having a lot of luck and pick up more punctures in one ride than I ever have, amongst other bike failures... it certainly made this already difficult ride even harder.
Don't let this put you off... definitely go check out this sportive if you get a chance, its a great day out... I just hope you get better luck than me if you do!

Hope your luck turns around soon, love the channel 👍. Everything is easier in hindsight, but I do like the mantra “fail to prepare, prepare to fail” 😂
One of these days... Last year I had a double puncture. And a good soul saved me at that time, gifting a spare tube. Lesson learned from this was: 2x CO2 cartridges + spare + valve extender + a tool to remove the valve + patches (normal and TPU). Tube patches weight nothing and can fit to any saddlebag but are invaluable in case of a double or triple puncture. Cheers 👍

A valve extender for tubes with non removable valves is also a good option!
Time to go tubeless Thomas...! 😎Oh, and some fast all-seasons tyres too. And get tyre inserts to give you run-flat capability. Done properly, there's no messing around with valve extenders either.

On my old bontragers never had an issue on my newer carbon hoops every time I have to re-seat the tyre I can write off 2-3 hours of pure frustration. yes I was even using a tyre blaster and know what I am doing.
This is when you say hell with inner tube and go tubeless. You will thank yourself for switching.
you have to be really careful putting those TPU tubes in because they can get caught between the rim and tire and puncture whilst you're pumping
