Cycling Across Europe | Bikepacking Czech Republic & Austria
Are we BIKEPACKING, CYCLE TOURING or BIKE TOURING?
Who knows. Who cares? Either way, this is our new favourite way to travel!
Having never really been on bikes since we were kids we came across some videos on KZread of people bike packing and cycle touring.
Bernardo Bacalhau, Giant Cheerio, Martijn Doolaard & On Her Own by Wiebke Lühmann were our main inspirations.
So, we decided to swap vanlife, boatlife & backpacking for a new method of slow travel… CYCLING!
Our first adventure - two weeks through the heart of Europe. One week along the south of the Czech Republic. Through vineyards, wineries, rural villages and mediaeval cities. And then back through the north of Austria following the Euro 6 Danube Route along the second largest river in Europe as it meanders through some spectacular and ever changing landscapes.

From one cyclist to another it looks like hard work. If you can, go more slowly as the scenery gets more beautiful. You may only pass through that way once. Happy Anniversary to you both and have fun 😊

Nothing better than bicycling around Moravia. Looks like Vendy has purchased the best bicycling snack ever. Mam rad brambůrky hořčice!! 🥔🍟 80 km per day fully loaded is plenty💪 , especially considering it's your third day. Great video. By the way, on my channel, I often refer to this activity as , "Bike Packing Trekking Touring". Try saying that three times fast🤣 Hope to run into you both someday soon. Hezký den!

Haha 😆 Yeah it's an awesome place to cycle! And plenty of wine about too 👍 Yeah we did end up averaging between 60 and 80 kms each day for the 2 weeks 👍🚲
Beautiful and good job! As a Moravian cyclist I have many memories od cycling through these places)

It would be helpful to see a map of your ride at the beginning of the video. We cycled part of this route in 2022 (Iron Curtain Trail) and plan on cycling Moravské vinarské stezky in the future. We are from Australia 🇦🇺

Yeah I'm still trying to work out how to make a nice animated map of our route. In Part 2 I did add a map later in the episode 👍 kzread.info/dash/bejne/iaGfsLhml6mZhMo.html . The Moravian wine region is really nice, we've spent quite a bit of time there on previous trips 😄
Have been planning a 150 day Europe bike tour, could you make a video perhaps on your equipment, bike type, and other necessities please 🙏
