CYCLING 140KM UP A MOUNTAIN ON A SINGLE SPEED!
The question is, can you cycle up the Atlas Mountains on a £100 single speed city bike?

I started filming stuff in April 2016. Now we're travelling the world and filming it, I'd forget what I've done otherwise.

Guys! You NEED to put your ratio in the inform text when you are posting singlespeed vids, please. Is it 48/16, 47/17 or what...people want to know...
As Eddy said! don't buy upgrades, ride up grades...... Not sure he meant on a single speed..... Hope the legs still functioned today.. Epic scenery as per.....
Well done! Both on riding the singlespeed and filming great as usual.
I've got a single speed, I get these shitty comments off cyclists all the time. The truth, they're just pissed off because they couldn't ride one, but seriously the simplicity of them is awesome. There's really something about them that super relaxing
This is bonkers! Well done Francis!
Been wanting to comment for a long while. Your videos are excellent (mate) your perspective is fresh and original. The videos are a much about the people in your community as the diverse cycling community. Just keep shooting.. Have google mapped some of your local Cafes (love London) Keep up with your shooting. Would like to share your wheel with you and you all sometime. (much like most of your audience would) Cheers from California!
Yesss Francis you totally nailed it !
Another great video..looks amazing there
You are an animal, riding your single speed up a mountain is just insane. However it reminds me of when I use to ride my track bike around San Francisco back in my younger days of cycling. So I tip my hat to you, by the way the view looks great and good to see that you all are having a great time.
Just discovered your channel. Goddamn! I’ve been digging your videos. Keep it up, Francis! I subs.
These vlogs kinda get my mood back up on a bad day
From start to finish ,An Epic Vlog and not even a guitar solo! Great ride How do I sign up!?
That gearing. Respect.
What happened to the bike with the lefty fork from Sigma sport?
What ratio was it ?
so for years I've not cycled with a helmet (i know, i know)..I've now decided to do the right thing and get a lid but im not sure what im looking for. I ride everyday and often go on longer rides on the weekends. I'd really prefer a light weight and very low profile helmet. Can anyone give me some recommendations? Cheers chaps!
Why didnt you take the chain off for the descend?
what was the gear ratio?
Light work for you that mate ;)
Great video! I would love more people to try out a single speed/fixed. I ride 60:18 everywhere, 1 gear is plenty :)

Hi there fellow cyclists! I'm considering buying a single speed bike... but I'm a broke ass student. Any idea where I could buy a cheap fixie? And what should I pay attention at when purchasing? Thx for your help :)
Sweet!! Great job Francis on a fixed gear! Can’t wait til Tomorrow
GO IAN GO!

Hey guys, I have a question about pedal thread size. So are pedal threads standardized like the same for mtb and road?
@robbyrne4651

Karlo Matić - yeah, they’re standard between road and mtb but they differ between USA and Europe. Europe use metric (10mm x 1mm) and USA generally use something called SAE (9/16" x 20 tpi).

Rob Byrne thank god I just bought pedals and shoes co convert ma mtb to roadie. It already has drop bars and thin tires. Thank you for replaying! Couldn’t find it anywhere.
Insane.
What ratio you using Francis? Have tried climbing with 48x16 and could not get anywhere.

I wanted to know what he is using too. So the 48x16 is too hard I was considering getting that, is it just climbing or hard on the flats as well?
@epexlinux

greeneking77 Is good on the flats as I find the bike really pulls but really hard up steep hills. Some people can do it tho. I am using 48x18 now and is abit easier but not as fast on flats.
Glucose network style powerful single speed hill climb!!!
Madness 🚲
Surprised you didn't wear your tights.
Something I'd try to do, and probably fail cause in NYC we have almost no climbs.

@Akif Rodriguez those are not climbs, they're baby sprints uphill
TIL bikes are cheaper in Morocco
Getting high as a kite in Morocco
Still surprised cyclist with multi-gear when they see singlespeed riders :-)
guess that comment b4 me says 1st!
Climbing on a fixed gear bike is good fun, climbing on narrow flat bars is not.
