CYCLE TOUR WITH A ONE YR OLD. Ft. Burley D'Lite X Trailer - New Forest National Park, UK
We're back! It's been a while! Since our epic cross-Europe Eurovelo trip, we got married, moved out of London and had a baby - Flic - Who in this video is 22 months old and is her first taste of cycle touring, and overnight camping.
We had no idea how it was going to go, and also, Harriet is 25 weeks pregnant!
We hope this helps others who love cycle touring, but aren't sure if it's a good idea with a toddler. It's a mini cycle tour, to test out the Burley trailer and sleeping in a tent with a little one. We plan to get on much longer tours in the future, when the family is complete, and older!

Hi Mat, watched your vids on the Burley and as a result we have bought one for our grandson. Very happy with it! Also, we have just returned from our cycling holiday from London to Glasgow via Edinburgh. Magnificent trip and the English weather was amazing!! Looking forward to more of your adventures 👍

Oh thats so nice! We really recommend it and itll give your grandson and his parents a lot of good times! Congrats on the epic uk ride, we really want to do the length of uk sometime, perhaps when kids are a little older. Weather makes a huge difference, glad it was nice for you here..! This is the first video of yours I've watched since your London-to-Istanbul series. Funny how life has changed a lot for you, but then again, not that much. Looking forward to the day the whole family can go on a REALLY long bike tour and you share it with us. If you ever happen to find yourselves in the Boston area (US, not UK), I hope you'll look me up. (As John McClane said in "Die Hard": Don't ask me how; by then you'll know how.)

Yeh we always said we try to keep life the same once we had kids.. easier said than done though of course! As they grow older, we hope to do longer trips. And who knows, hopefully something in the States! We'll swing by for a cuppa :)

How old was she when shooting this video? My son is 18 months old and I am wondering whether he is old enough for the Burley

She was 2 that June and this was April, so about 21/22 months :) we did plenty of other rides from age of 12 months too. Its easier now shes 2.5 yrs as shes more engaged with it all but 18 months should be fine!

@@MatHallWe’re looking for a chariot and doubt between yours in double seater or the Thule Cross 2. Now your daughter is almost 3, does she have enough room for her legs? I’m afraid of lacking leg space. Would you appreciate the seat reclining more. Thanks for sharing part of your (real) life. ❤

@ivanaizpurua8090 hiya, we now have the double D Lite X with baby #2 involved and yes 3 year old Flic still has plenty of legroom to grow into. Would like more recline perhaps but actually in reality its not for sleeping in so its fine! We love it. So reliable too
