mistakes in Cybertruck that will render it useless for zombie apocalypses or chaos/war: 1. Acceleration 2.6s to 60mph = there is no tire on planet that can last more than 10k mi. on vehicle with that acceleration which is COSTLY. RWD has 6.5s but then locking differentials are useless when there is nothing to lock but rear wheels, and 17” ground clearance is absolutely POINTLESS because no RWD vehicle will EVER attempt off-roading! 2. No door handles = cannot be opened from outside in strong wind when wind is blowing from the front or the door side, odds are roughly 50% if u park vehicle at random angle to wind. 3. Electric sensor for opening door = cannot be opened in case of electric malfunction or battery depletion while any gas truck can be opened whenever they ran out of gas REMEMBER ITS MEANT TO BE FOR APOCALYPSES WHEN U PUSH THE LIMITS. 4. Standard tires = instead of improving and innovating tires tesla made 3-3.5 ton monster on feet of clay. anyone can stop it by puncturing tires. War in Ukraine shows how even the most luxurious SUV-s have become so vulnerable to tire puncturing due to small pieces of shrapnel on roads. 5. Bulletproof body = STUPID IDEA CAUSE TIRES AND GLASS ARE NOT BULLETPROOF! 6. Ethernet wiring = computers control EVERYTHING even STEERING meaning any chip malfunction could kill you, moreover this system cannot be protected from EMP or excessive solar radiation. Stock Toyota 70 for example outperforms this vehicle in all those features that’s why it is the most demanded rugged vehicle on Earth. 7. Great towing capacity: yes towing capacity is great cause the vehicle is overweight and friction induced on tires is way higher than friction on 2.5 ton truck tires: 3.5ton/4=0.875 ton/tire while 2.5ton/4=0.625 ton/tire just like 2x2=4. Not mentioning 4x more probability that it will get stuck in mud than the same size 2.5 ton vehicle. And when fully loaded it weighs 4.5 tons which is INSANELY STUPID for Apocalyptic roads… Not only 0 chance in mud but puncturing probability drastically increases when under 1.15ton pressure. So in rainy apocalyptic day, 0 chance moving unless on well maintained highway…. 8. Steering rectangle instead of wheel = accident guaranteed. 9. Ceiling gear shift = accident guaranteed. 10. Absence of battery heating system = 30-60% cold weather range drop =Gasoline truck-600 miles, Cybertruck-180miles 11. Price = they promised less than 40k for standard vehicle now its over 60k, while 95% of truck prices fall in

Towing with an electric truck is actually fine. It's distance that is the shortcoming. I say this because there is a distinct difference between someone towing a landscape trailer IN-TOWN and towing an RV trailer cross-country. It's important to observe that distinction. For IN-TOWN use, a Lightning or Cybertruck is more than capable of doing everything you'd want to do in a day. I have 2x Lightnings.

IDK about this so few people tow statistic, I just got off the road, I'm a CDL truck driver, and now I drive around town all day. and there are tons of people towing, people tow for work, tow landscaping equipment. tow their toys to go have fun every weekend, can this truck actually safely get down a boat launch ramp! some fools get too far into the water! One thing I always hated about seeing so many people towing, there are so many people who don't know HOW to tow!!! when you see a truck going down the Interstate at 70mph hauling it's toy trailer, but the rear is dipped down and sashaying down the Interstate, you have exceeded the tow capacity!!!

Yeah, the Ford lighting doesn't get the advertised mileage while towing a 5500lb toy hauler. The range is bearly 150miles. That's 75mile out & 75mile back. You better hope the lake, offroad site or campground you're headed to has EV charging or bring a gas generator BLABLABLA HAHAHA LMAO 😢😮😅😅😅😂 LOL

Delorean was a complicated car design, and there were many other issues that crushed it.

I'm awaiting when the public gets this truck and can do all sorts of tests, I need to see more. Hate the look of it but still curious about it. Thanks for editing down the presentation

Cars were not always 12 volt. They were 6 volt until 1956. Some were even positive ground, vs the standard negative ground now used.

And probably that range is from 100% to 0% not that good for the batteries, and not in the winter time.

I use it for carry things- several times a week, love the smooth ride in our city with nothing but potholes, and despise going to gas stations. love my Cybertruck!

One major reason other pick-up trucks have not changed their construction methods in 70 years is what that market represents to other makers. It is the same body on frame that cars used to be before safety bumper and roll over standards mandated for sedans were legislated. Light trucks were exempted and so were much more profitable to keep making. Selling the American public on pick-ups as a family car substitute by adding a second row of seats became the major advertising the other makers have pushed for decades. This created the market that the Cybertruck now exists to help fulfill.

The Cybertruck is not safe however. There's numerous design flaws that make it ESPECIALLY unsafe for children. Especially if you prefer your children to keep all their fingers. The collision tests also show that it has 4x the impact force of an F150. Tesla won't even release the entirety of the test dummy video because it clearly looks terrible just from what they have shown.

Wanted more range for less money, Unfortunately physics has butted heads with my unreasonable expectations. Want more range, put in the extender. As an engineer, I’m more than happy to accept the compromises and innovations - 48V and ethernet architecture, super strong body & glass, adjustable ground clearance, torque vectoring & 4 wheel steering, 11Kw of off board power, huge trunk with bed liner & cover, crazy acceleration and towing, no paint. Hmmm, maybe not so much compromising after all :-) If you don’t like it, get out of line so I can get mine sooner!! Thanks for the video!

Towing / workwise, the cybertruck is similar to a Ford F150 or a Ram 1500. It will tow a smaller horse trailer or a smaller skid steer or tractor. However, it is not going to tow a 5 ton CTL or mini-excavator. Lots of useful work and farming applications. The range is ok, especially with the extra range extender. Considering that the top of the line F150 is about $80,000, this is in the ballpark. I want one of these but do have an occasional need for towing larger equipment 100 miles or less -- for that I would buy a used diesel truck with a dump truck bed.

The battery extender belongs IN the Trailer/RV so it can Assist with the pull weight and by putting a Motor on a NoseWheel, the trailer can be moved around (unhitched) and used to power a House/Campsite/Jobsite, while you use CT for something else. Cheers

Imagine being able to pull a Trailer behind a Model 3, the Motorized NoseWheel with Regen Braking, would eliminate most of the effort. Cheers

@@CBR2200 Maybe China will simply Build E-Trailers (or the Sleds at least), because they control most of the Battery market they are cheaper for them to build, in lower quantities - very simple product for a 3rd tier supplier to make. The Idea of a "spare" pack is going to Showcase the Car Conversion, Retro Car, Tractor conversion Kits, etc. Cheers

it belongs to the main flat battery because towing your extra battery will just reduce your capabilities! you can very easily triple the range of your diesel truck which is already excpetional by putting an auxiliary fuel tank under the bed so no space is lost for example.

When you’re Towing its in the Trailer/RV to be used independently of your Truck. If you have a spare fuel Tank ~ 500 lbs - Same thing. You only add that weight when you’re going to Use it. You should just stick with your Diesel, you apparently have Zero experience with this F-350 Diesel destroyer called CyberTruck. Can your Diesel do Anything the CyberTruck can do with so much more Efficiently - NO it cannot. Superchargers are available in many areas and being added rapidly. Cheers

The introduction of 48v electrical system, bidirectional charging and steer by wire are massive overlooked innovations. As well as the use of stainless steel as a stressed load bearing element is a first too. I don’t think the price is too bad given the inflation the world is suffering and it’s clear that 4680 cell development and production has not gone as smoothly as expected. However, Tesla won’t stop innovation and iteration and will prevail. They will drive Dow costs as production ramps.

Yes!! Hot take, I think tesla will delay the "range extender" and will have some towing accessories!

It may me more easy to put the extender battery on or off than you think.If you have a travers the battery can hang down from, high enough when the truck is knebling so that the truck can reverse under it, then the truck raise again, and the battery can be unhooked from the traverse. The truck movements could even be automatic.

I use my truck exactly as you described for farm/ranch work and long road trips. It’s the primary mode of transportation on the ground. We have a 4 door Jeep for rougher travel, local run-about trips and general fun. It’s also a backup if the truck is in the shop for a few days. It is truly a pain when it’s down. I think I paid too much for it during the pandemic when my “cherry” truck was totaled in the parking lot, (long story not pertinent here), but even with that, is the vehicle of choice. A Tesla truck with the current performance capabilities is a good choice for some limited uses, but is not yet capable of the wide variety 100+ years of vehicle progress has given us with the internal combustion engine. I can see it for the uses you noted. Also, for those with a need that’s occasional you mentioned the percentages, well, that’s a good candidate and then you can cruise Rodeo Drive or the Boulevard and look good. It says you either have a lot of money or most of your wealth is tied up in a vehicle………so you get the best of the practical utility during the day and the ego boost at night. In time, if the EV idea continues to grow, then these issues will resolve themselves. If it does not then we still have the existing capabilities. Either way, likely won’t matter to me as I’m retired and have little need to change. I’ll let the younger generation solve those problems. My generation solved theirs, and I suspect this will follow a similar path. Patience and attention to detail will win the day.

I would buy the dual motor version if I could afford it. As the 4680 chemistry improves (v3 maybe), hopefully they'll increase more power into the main battery pack footprint. Powering my house with the truck in an emergency would be amazing and put my mind at ease for situations like this.

Just to be clear - the original Cybertruck glass was never claimed to be bulletproof. They called it armored glass or something like that, but the bulletproof claim was for the stainless steel body.

I love it. I want it. It’s perfect for hauling plants home from the nursery, my bike and my dog. Plus, I live on an island so its maximum range is not an issue. The only question I have is about the voltage tolerance. We have a lot of voltage sags in Hawaii, despite what the utility claims.

That’s a good question for Tesla. So, go get the data that shows all the power sags, fluctuations, and ask them if this unreliability is a problem for charging up. Tesla should have a good answer for you, so you can make the best decision for your situation. What island?

Because of the poor electrical service in Hawaii (I’m on Oahu), I am now using the Ting sensor by Whisker Labs, in addition to a whole home surge protector. The Ting sensor monitors daily average, high and low voltages. There are frequent voltage sags beyond the NEC 5% parameter. Just horrible. So, yes, good idea. I’ll inquire with Tesla about their battery recharging tolerance.

I was bound and determined to get the 500 mile range model, because I use my truck mostly for towing my RV, but frankly, I nearly always tow my RV where some form of power is available. With that in mind, the dual motor without the extender will be my choice as I would not want to lose any trunk bed space... I would rather spend 30 minutes or so for one recharge stop. Thanks for the great analysis.

I think I would choose the same. If I owned and operated a small towing company specializing in towing heavy loads long distances all day every day, I would still consider diesel as an option. Or if I was towing often in northern Canada, Sahara or Siberia. It seems like diesel will be for rare edge cases in a few years. (Gasoline will be for collector's cars.) Give that a good decade for most of the vehicles already on the road to be retired. Then everything becomes an expedition, because where are you going to get fuel? Charging will be everywhere, but liquid fuel pumps will not be installed in new locations and many old location will close down.

The issue is you will have to find a place to park and disconnect your camper before charging at a power station. So now it will take much longer than just the 30 minutes for the charging.

@@GravityKillsYou That can be an issue. Tesla (and a few others) are installing some pull-through chargers for this. Gas stations replacing their pumps with chargers is one example. Some inconvenience must be expected along with the obvious awesomeness.

The combination of the super car level body stiffness, steering by wire, rear wheel steering and computer control suspension make this thing drive like a sport car. The ideas of a separate range extender is brilliant if it can be remove and use as home power wall and hook it back into the truck for long trips

No vehicle that weighs as much as this thing does handles like a sports car. It might handle good for a wanna be truck but it doesn't handle like a sports car , not a true sports car anyway. Take it to the track with that 911 see how many times the 911 laps you in an hour of track time.

The range is disappointing, but like you said.. the tech is what it is.. they could wait.. but then it wouldn't be here this soon.. so some concessions had to be made. Also, it now is a real product, and range will improve as the technology improves. I love it though. Kudos to Tesla for delivering. Great video.

@@eal1yep in 2027 they might be something I would consider performance wise. Still hate the tesla interiors though, not enough analog controls. The future is not touch screen only, its a balance of touch screen for rarely used/ unimportant controls and physical switches(buttons, knobs, toggles etc) for most often used and critical controls.

I have a res too... I'm bummed about the mileage, but will probably keep my reservation also. I wish the extended battery was longer and shallower, or it could of replaced the in bed trunk. I would have preferred that.

I want to see a cyber truck do "Hell's Revenge" in Moab and some of the other trails. How about competing in Matt's Recovery Off Road Games next year.

Canceled mine. Lots of things to like but at the same time a few things I didn't. Bumping the price so much more than promised was a starter, and back seat Interior space is cramped compared to my crew cab. Then the reduce range killed it for me, my crew cab gets me 400-440 miles on 26 gallons. Now the Ram Charger is scheduled to be released before my pre order CT can get to me and the RC has up to 690 miles on a 26 gallon tank. Will reconsider the cybertruck when it gets more appealing.

Impressive performance data, except for a few details kinda not mentioned: 1) Time required to refuel, 2) Range on a fuel charge, 3) Sub-zero temperature performance or lack of, 4) Problem of Lithium batteries exploding or bursting into white-hot flames. 5) Non-competitive cost(initial and continuing maintenance).

Drag coefficient for the F150 Lightning is 0.44 and the Rivian is 0.3 which is quite impressive. The Cyber truck is 0.335 which is still amazing

I have a reservation but about 700k in line. Hopefully they honor the 7k FSD. After the reveal I would likely go for the dual motor over the tri-motor if they allow that change. Primary reason if dual motor will qualify for tax credit, and I think now has more range than tri-motor. Which after they revealed that both have same size battery that isn’t to be unexpected. Wonder if you will go with dual motor as well.

I’m at 344k for Tri-motor and will also do for dual motor. Range is why I opted for Tri. I have a 2018 M3D, when I ordered charging was still sparse and trips could get sketchy. Having 500 range would make any route we looked at possible. Charging is way better now, but range is key. If I can, I will also switch to Dual and hope they honor the FSD price.

To my mind, this is an outstanding vehicle. It isn’t perfect but it will improve over time. The technology in this vehicle is next level. There is no competition as yet tech wise. It won’t be used for “work” by most people but it is more than capable for most tradies. It needs to gain a foothold in the market and then once they ramp production the prices will come down. The battery will improve quite quickly if planned dev of the 4680 is implemented . Overall, I love it! The future is here at last.

I can taste the tears already, Tesla will definitely lower the price just like they did with the S and X. Probably 10k less by the end of next year. The current price is probably just enough to break even during the ramp up.

what i don't understand is why would buy this if not for work? but a model S. it drives better, is more comfortable and goes faster. literally makes no sense to buy a pickup truck to use as a regular car.

Honestly, as a lifelong opponent of fossil fuel, I feel like the best "range extender" for any electric truck over the next 10 years until batteries *actually* get here, would be a cleaner gas generator used as the Volt does. Or for the $17,000 they want for the range extender, a trailer base w/batteries and the smallest motor Tesla makes. Tesla could make an entire business just selling mobile battery trailers. Look at Lightship.

A smaller battery with a range extender is the way to go. Reasonably priced PHEV’s would decisively cut liquid carbon fuel usage, far more decisively than very expensive EV’s.

Great summary Mr Da Vinci. Cybertruck does have pros and cons. One thing I would like to point out is the drag race with the Porsche 911. That seems kind of unfair because it was not really designed for drag racing. But it is great marketing so show it the way they did. The cybertruck may not be for everyone but at least there are more choices now and it will push other companies to innovate more.

I'm honestly not sure if you are being sarcastic or not. I'll give you the benefit of a doubt and assume sarcasm. It's a big, overly heavy, ridiculously non aerodyamic EV pick up truck that looks like what we thought looked futuristic when Musk himself was a child, which is how you know he mandated its ridiculous design. A willfully non aerodynamic design in an EV is just the epitome of stupid.

I like the look of the cybertruck, and it might be a truck to get me around the town and to work. I am still worried about the function in cold weather. Would like to see information on that.

Cold weather lowers EV performance significantly. Why would someone need a car this large to get around town? Wouldn't an AWD gas or hybrid crossover be superior?

I disagree on one point, Ricky. I think this truck could be huge in the commercial blue collar construction and service markets. It checks all the boxes. Why am I certain? Because I was a commercial carpenter, mostly heavy structural concrete projects. This truck is perfect for individuals' ownership AND commercial company fleets. Most people analyzing the markets for this truck are ignoring this factor. Take it to the bank: it may take a little time for adoption in the work place but the CT IS a work truck! And it will prove itself as such in the not too distant future. Elon needs to be ready for the demand!

I agree, it provides quite a bit of capability that saves from having to haul a generator around... some people need to transport ladders, a roof rack is coming. For contractor work within a hundred miles CT will be compelling. It might not fit the long range freelance transporter role too well, maybe with 2 range extenders installed? Might be better to consider semi if thats your thing.

Stainless steel bed that you can dump gravel straight into and won’t rust out from scratched paint. The shell is thick enough to weld to so if you need mounts for anything you can do that. Other trucks can do this but not with such a big battery, it can power your tools without running a small ICE generator. Seriously, no trade tows long distance. They would lose money if they tried. So what advantage do ICEVs offer to trades vs Cybertruck?

Hey Ricky, good breakdown of the CT, yes I have an order in from Aus and don't expect to see it for a number of years and as long as $TSLA at least doubles in this time I will take the Beast, having said that the dual motor version has been seriously stepped up to match trimotor in almost every spec except acceleration. 2 Questions-1 no mention of water tight boat mode for deep water crossings, 2. There is no Air outlet for pneumatic tools. And no mention on either of those questions. I can understand lrg air compressor takes up space, but the boat mode needs discussion for those people who may choose to do deep water crossings and find out the hard way.

I think the CT is amazing - true innovation. One problem for offroading is the weight - a very heavy truck is more likely to get stuck in the mud ...

Great Video. Thank you for putting out the towing and off roading percentages. None of the other KZreadrs are even considering how many people don't use their trucks for anything other than transport. Bravo - I just subscribed to your channel.

thats is actually terrible because in a world where we are trying to use our ressources more efficiently and more renewables people continues with the stupid mentality of buying big cars to not use to their full potential! there are 30 years old+ trucks out there that works super hard in third world countries to move people and goods daily on very harsch environments while beeing overloaded to the max.

Thank you so much for the best and smartest Cybertruck information! I see beat up trucks used for actual work and the rest are owned by people that flip out if their $100,000 US dollar truck gets scratched at all, so off roading to them is driving to the cabin in Tahoe or Aspen on the weekends.

36 gallons at $4 per gallon = $144 to fill up for that ICE truck, same range for the CyberTruck $30, Is the extra 30 minutes you spend filling up with $110 or would you be happy making $220 per hour equivalent. This is a big financial decision for many businesses that will decide which vehicle to buy.

I reserved Cybertruck in November of 2019 and I think it’s pretty good but I also got an email from Tesla saying I’m in the line, but I should check out a Model Y while I wait. That implies a year, or more likely two years while almost as good Lightnings are sitting on dealer lots with discounts and I’m assuming the new 2025 Ford, Ram and GM trucks will roll out about the same time as the Cybertruck line gets into full production. I figure once Cybertruck demand slows, they will probably drop the price significantly and the others won’t be able to and still be profitable, but that’s my shareholder side thinking. My car purchaser side wants a truck now, but doesn’t want to pay $70-80k and recognizes that the Model Y can handle the three trailers in my yard, but not necessarily a newer heavier version of my travel trailer. The utility trailer and the boat only go on short trips

@@paulbrowne6087 You're not entirely wrong. I'm still hopeful for the Tesla 2 to ever come out, but meanwhile I bought a JAC E10X last year. People should buy the vehicle they need when they need it, and I was holding out but my clunker expired on me and I couldn't wait any longer. And now I need my JAC to expire before I get a Model 2, probably next decade (the JAC has a LFP battery, so degradation should take a while). Besides, due to the exterior panels of the Cybertruck being an origami nightmare rather than a 10 second date with a stamping machine, it will take years before production ramps up. That should be more than enough time for common problems on the production version to get ironed out.

It would be great to see that range extender on a short term lease or rental program for road trips.

unfortunately the installation time and effort is probably going to be too high to make this practical. In addition to the weight we have to consider the voltage that's going to be traveling through this thing. It's going to be a near permanently mounted fixture that is hard wired in, not a modular component that a user is likely able to work with.

48vdc is about as high as you would want to go for the "low voltage" system for safety. The advantage is that the current for a given load at 48v is much lower than it would be at 12v. That means wires can be thinner/lighter, etc.

@@avsystem3142 48v would be really convenient for the Mild Hybrid cars (EU thing mainly) because the hybrid battery is 48v. On my Hyundai i30 I used to have a 12v system with a 12v battery for the lights and electronics, a 48v battery for the hybrid assistance and a 48v starter generator for normal operation and then a 12v starter for starting the car when the 48v was depleated. Of course, after all that, a turbocharged petrol engine with an electronic clutch for a manual gearbox. So yeah, 48v for ICE cars would be really nice.

I don't know if you mentioned it, but this is the first Tesla using the 4680 battery. A lot of the technology developed for the CyberTruck is going to be used in the next model, like the steer by wire, 800 volt architecture, and 48 volt low power architecture.

Some Model Y's have 4680 but some of the 4680 features at battery day are not implemented yet like Si in the cathode which improves the energy density. Thats going to be needed for a true 500 mile CT

I think the 48V architecture is the most important advance of the CyberTruck, it's starting a standard that all other brands will adopt and Tesla will be the only initial source in the supply chain. No one else has dared to be the first. Every time Tesla struggles to achieve something like 4680, initial Model 3 manufacturing problems, reusable rockets exploding, FSD etc, I know they're on track to something great. When Elon said "We dug our own grave with the Cybertruck" I was happy to hear, for me it basically meant they're digging yet another moat.

So once the extender is put on, you are just good to go with extra range and no other hoops to jump through when charging?? The severe excess weight of the extender I would think would mess with the range also, or is that already factored in??

Question is did they maxed the room for cells in the truck or still room for 170kwh? 170kwh is what I was expecting for tri motor!

Removing the turn stalks and overhead rear view mirror/screen because...they'll make their safety rating some other way. Don't worry about it, it just a few low speed crashes and money saved for the company, get with the program!

I was disappointed at first when i saw that the range was going to be 340 miles on the dual motor which i have reservation for. However, my current Tundra is only 317 miles on GOOD gas and barely 290 miles on E85 which i drive 95% of the time. The Tesla Superchargers are going to save us on long towing trips even WITHOUT the range extender battery pack. I can build my own 30kwh pack for about $10k. The range extender pack is about $16k plus labor to put in back of CyberTruck bed.

I watched all the reviews and this one may be the best one out there. I was disappointed with the price and range. I would have loved to have seen a dual motor 500 mile truck for $57,500. That being said I liked your realism for why that is not possible right now. Also liked how you differentiated groups that would be interested in buying one, it was an interesting take I have not heard from others. Nice Job....

I just want this truck for my camping escapades. that 6 foot bed sounds really good for a nice cosy bed and other camping items.

i have a reservation and will buy the three motor model when it comes up. I'm a contractor and this will be the first electric truck in my fleet of trucks that work 5 days a week.The main feature that I'm excited about is the maintenance or lack thereof. Fleet maintenance is a huge part of owning working trucks. I'm also hoping that it will be able to tow 8 to 10K for 100 + miles. Your presentation is the best I have seen thanks; however like I said the relatively maintence free design of an electric truck is going to be very attractive to fleet owners. Thanks again for the great presentation.

8:56 That doesn't look like a lot of deformation, so that means most of the force is going to be going to the passengers instead of deforming the car. A car that doesn't break much in these kind of impacts is bad news for the passengers.

Thanks Ricky for the informative video. I have a reservation and intend to keep it. The range is less than I wanted, but otherwise the Cybertruck lived up to or exceeded my expectations. I agree with your point that it will cater for 95% of my use cases. I want to know more about the range extender for when I go on long road trips to the backcountry. Honestly, a gas generator might be my range extender.

He starts out selling the expensive model then when he can't sell those high profit models he'll go to the cheaper versions. He knows what he's doing. Why? If you fill the bed with batteries and pull a trailer of batteries you might as well drive a car because you won't have any room left for anything else.

If your primary purpose of needing a range extender was to tow things, having it in the trailer will mean you are only carrying the extender when you need it. A ranger extender trailer could also be a platform for a camping trailing where the battery would have dual purpose (extend the range and/or power the camping). If you used the sled of a Y, you could have an 85kw battery under a trailer with thousands of pounds of capacity.

@@TSLApilot Yeah it's going to have to work for now. By the time you have a range extender in the bed and the spare tire in the bed there's no more room left for stuff. When I go on hunting trips the spare tire is under the truck bed and no battery taking up space in the back so I can fit my things. Maybe one day the electric truck could work for me but not yet.

I'll probably follow through with my Day 1 CT order, but I'm really disappointed with the range. Bottom line, I'll keep my diesel pickup.

Cybertruck is going to be a hard sell for people that want to tow for any distance. I was counting on 400-500 mile range. Primarily because my model 3 long range never got the amount they estimated. At best you get about 2/3 the estimated amount of miles. And so you can imagine what you will actually get if the estimate is 340. And on top of that if you’re towing 10,000 pounds you will be lucky to get 130 miles. And I can’t imagine charging with a trailer on an 6 hour treck into remotes parts of the country for hunting. Overall it’s sad because other than the jacked up prices it sounds like an incredible truck. They should have made the range extender 4 by 6 so it would lay flat in the bed and you could still carry plywood. Poor design on the range extender

@@dannydaw59 sure. But the comparison definitely favors a regular truck as of now. F150 hold 23 gallons and gets 24 mpg on highway. This gives you a range of 552 miles. No more needs to be said, but pulling my flat bed with a mule and some other supplies I used to get 15 mpg. So my range pulling a trailer was 345. And when I stop I don’t have to disconnect my trailer to charge. I just pull up and refuel and in 7-8 minutes I’m back on the road. Again Teslas estimated range are terribly on the high side. At least it’s been the case in my model 3. I therefore expect the same on Teslas other vehicles. So I strongly doubt the cybertruck will get 340. I suspect it will likely be around 300. Then when you tow it will probably be 100-150 miles per charge. I hope it’s better but doubtful. Now my hope is the improve the range over time. I love my model 3. And I wanted the truck too. The problem with towing with an electric vehicle isn’t how much weight, it’s how much range

I am so stoked about all the functionality of the car. Drive-by-wire, all the general tech., tech. with driving what comes to variable traction/ etc. etc. What I've read it truly has great technology. CT is coming to Europe but I fear what the pricing will be here.

@@lulumink0 It is just general knowledge. Based on the treaties between our blocks (EU and the US) all products outside agriculture are free to be sold here in Europe. CyberTruck, as a product, will have some European particulars. For example in Finland and in various EU conutries you might need a driving license that includes you to have 'truck driving knowledge'. Also the truck might have to have a mark in the license plate. Otherwise there is no reason why it can't be sold here. It might come later to the market here in Europe, though, if it can't be manufactured fast enough. But as the steel alloy/plating is manufactured here in Finland, I have a feeling it's coming to Europe relatively fast.
