True. I don’t play games often, but something made cyberpunk very interesting. I played a few days almost all my waking hours. The characters and the city feel alive. RTX Overdrive and the proper HDR settings will lock you into the game, I wasn’t controlling V.. I WAS V.

I love what Mike Pondsmith did. He combined the old west company towns, the story of vegas, and some (somewhat accurate) ideas about where society and technology was headed, even some superhero stuff (especially Batman), and made an RPG out of it all. Total legend.

Seriously. I am in awe of what he has been able to accomplish!! It truly is an under appreciated world - even though it is getting some love. On the wider scale of things, the world of Cyberpunk to me is as good if not better than a lot of what is out there currently.

@@oldylad the vegas thing is more about how the mob ran so much of the city through their front businesses and money laundering - it’s more about the gang stuff than the structural design stuff. Think clouds, and some of the more extreme stuff around XBDs and what have you. It’s turned up to 11, of course! Epcot is a good analogy for how stuff in Night City is designed, you’re probably right about that!

Night City is a Dark, desolate, but intriguing setting. Mike Pondsmith and R. Talsorian Games created a legendary work of art. ❤

This game is like a spiritual successor to the Red Dead games. In those games, the bad guys beat the good guys because the bad guys had structure, protocol, government, chains of command, departments, all of it. Now, those bad guys have built their perfect world. Where the good guys have next to nothing, while they continue to consume and consume and consume. The luxury they live in is unbelievable. Arthur says, “America is designed to induce apathy in people.” Take one fucking look at night city, and you’ll see that’s clear as day. Imagine living in a place where all you do is make someone who has more money than you, EVEN MORE MONEY. Oh wait…we don’t need to imagine, do we?

I’d say Singapore has gotten as close as close gets, they’re full of corporate and corrupt interests yet they are the most heavily enforced nation on the earth when it comes to crime, their cities are always clean and advanced, but therein lies the difference, Singapore is able to enforce order on a full scale, much unlike night city, but otherwise, I’d say it’s pretty similar, at least if you distill bc down to its intended ideals

I hope that we are able to live a cyberpunk type life in the real world you’d be pretty much immortal cause take a look at rouge she and Johnny were in there 30s when they hit Arisaka tower and it’s been 50 years where we play as V meanin that rouge would atleast be in her 80s along with Kerry and others who were alive at this time and they all still look as if they haven’t aged also to help prove this could happen we already have the ability to make fully functionin cybernetic limbs for those who are missin there limbs it’s only a matter of time until it’s mass produced where everyone under the suns doin it to fit in oh and also we can’t forget bout that Nerochip that Elon is makin thatll ba put inside our heads givin us access to the internet and shot like that
