Cyberpunk Red has become one of my top-3 systems. Less swing than d20 games, skill-based characters instead of power combo "builds", sensible attack rolls and SUPERB armor rules, truly impactful criticals, and of course improved netrunning rules. I use it for all sorts of near-future sci-fi genres. :D Re: book flipping. CPR has the best GM screen I've ever owned! You can practically run the whole game from it.

CP:Red looks like a book full of tables made in the 1980's. I was not at all convinced by the changes they made to the setting. I gave the starter box a go and it was just a bit meh.

Do you mean you don't like the timeline & milieu ? Agree with you there about the tables. One of my issues is the repetition of cyberwear & gear in the front half & again in the back; totally unnecessary. Other things could have been done with those pages! Another is the 3 method character creation' you just don't need 3 methods FFS. I think the rules are generally better than 2020 apart from cover which I still struggle with having run some Red in 2022. My favourite parts are the timeline & how it became near apocalypse; feels a bit Mad Max & old west which I personally love; the rise of the Nomads as the supply chain, the LAN aspect of the Net & the fact that role abilities are much expanded & improved & you can switch role abilities.

@@princealiaps3751 Yes, I do not like what Mike did with the world building. I get that he wanted to shake things up, but mostly it just seemed silly.
