Mhm. I think they're just masochists. They love the painful endings. I don't get why though. Real life is already depressing enough. Don't need what I do in my free time to have the same effect. I play games to have fun and get away from reality not immerse myself in it some more. Oh well.

Also happy Judy got the better life she wanted (from what i could tell) and keeps the door somewhat open to a friendship. Great to hear from mitch too, though Panam's reaction should not be a suprise. It implies that the companions and friends without V making an impact in their lives through an OG ending and simply disappearing for 2 years will result in everyone either moving on or ending up for the worse. Think the story's is trying to say to make the most with the time you have left and go out while your on top, the life of a merc is a quick bright spark, either that or you become like everyone else and blend into the crowd, just another name, another NPC. Silverhand whether V likes it or not pushed them to become a legend of night city, without him theyre just another dead merc in the trash heap. They need each other.

Even if they have some stability in life now, to some a desk job will simply never fulfill them, and they’ll always be empty. I feel like that applies to V, every friend they made is gone, every connection severed. V’s lovers have move on and clearly don’t want to stay in contact, and their only 2 friends who they remained on good terms with are leaving the city. Well, there’s still hope. A safe and stable job with good income isn’t the worst situation (especially in cyberpunk) to be in. V could very well settle down, find love, and start anew as a regular person, but I just don’t think V’s going to be able to do that.

They choose to break the cycle and stop trying to take from night city. Also the Nomad ending has V living a fairly happy life with friends, and potentially girlfriend too. Whereas this new one just seems very bittersweet as they basically lose everyone. So yeah, I would still advocate for the Nomad one overall as it at least ends on a much happier note compared to this new one. (Not trying to say its terrible by any means, don't get me wrong)

V got to do some amazing shit during the game and should be proud of that, and gets to have a safe and stable job alongside their new friend Reed + most of V's friends are alive and have moved on. Sure they ALL have regrets but it's not the end of the world (Except for River lol). Yeah i get it this ending isn't supposed to be sunshine and rainbows but they really wanted to make it feel like the worst one for some reason. There is also the connections he still had especially that with Reed V could live a comfortable life in NUSA or take the job in Langley . This is what I’m saying😂 people over here talking about “no chrome means you can’t do anything”… like V couldn’t pick up a gun and shoot anyone? There’s plenty of tech to allow V to be as deadly as before, even if they were a Netrunner, V can still use one of the old style cyber decks that looked like a tablet. Becoming a Fixer would be hella easy for V as well, they have all the connects and the reputation to carey them for two life times. People are just defeatists I guess. This ending is the best, although they wrote V as someone that sort of gives up at the end even though this would simply mean that V has to adapt, which is what V has been doing since the start of the whole story.

@@narutomaster500 I agree. At least with the Star ending, I like to think that V realizes how much Night City tries to take away from you, and chooses to leave for a better life, even if it’s a short one. It’s bittersweet, but way less depressing than the new ending. Though I’d say the Sun ending is the most badass. If you’re gonna die soon, may as well go out with a bang.

I want to say I liked this ending because V lives (which was the whole narrative goal of the game) but I just find it really bitter. I get it's soppsed to be the theme of cyberpunk nothing good happens blah blah blah life is meaningless in future but honestly I don't care for multiple endings that just end all on bleak notes like. For me it just takes away from the feeling of a choice. I literally said f it when in my first play through as V and handed the body to Jhonny and all that do was give him depression. I whould have liked if at least one writer on the team wasn't going through a divorce to have written an ending.

The ending left me feeling empty inside. But it made me realize that Dexter DeShawn’s quote in the beginning about dying in the blaze of glory or dying in peace, old and smelling urine was actually the key message of the story. People like V don’t get to live long. They die in the blaze of glory, but they are always young. If they wanna live until they are old, they would have to give up their life and live like normal people. One of the best stories I’ve seen in the genre.

This ending is in my opinion the best one and in my opinion the canon ending if they every make a sequel. It also hurts the most. It feels like the game developers said “ You want an ending we’re V is guaranteed to live? Sure and all you have left is your reward”. It makes the story horribly similar to real life, where tough life choices and sometimes there is no easy solution or happy ending.

@@Deathpool_04 the reason V did’t die in the story was because the Relic, not the implants. In the world of Cyberpunk there are no happy endings. Blaze of glory or fading away. Or in this case, fading away either working as a Fed or being eventually enslaved as a Corpo, either way, it's dystopian either way you choose.

Well, it's the best V ending thus far. As hopeful and romantic as the Aldecaldos ending was, odds are V doesn't make it. Kinda bites that in just 2 years all V's friends are gone or done in, but there's some solid hope to be found here, just seen through the filter of realism. In the end, the only way forward is out of Night City. Now, if only it wasn't sold seperately as DLC. 🙄

Eh, one could argue that living for 6 months with the Aldecado’s surrounded by loved ones is the better option. 6 months of happiness could be more fulfilling than a lifetime of depression and regret. Based on V’s character, I don’t think they’d every find “true” happiness In Langley working a desk job. Stability? Sure. But I imagine V ending like some irl veterans, depressed with, feelings of loneliness, PTSD, depression, boredom, and regret, and suicidal thoughts. But if V can properly adjust to the life of a normal person, they could very will live a full and happy life. I think it unlikely though.

@@personperson8563 "True Happiness" is a legend just as fantastic as the legends recorded in the Afterlife's drink menu. Even if you find yours, the moment doesn't last. Most people don't realize it, but Jackie got what he wanted right at the start. V also became a legend in their own right and got to live, which was the goal from the start, and Johnny even got his original dying wish, albeit another 2 years later. Still not convinced? Lemmie explain in more detail. Jackie got his wish from the Konpeki Plaza Heist: he went out in a blaze of glory, became an Afterlife legend, and got his drink on the menu. V rescued the chuffing president of the NUSA, and became both an NUSA legend and an Afterlife legend in the process, when all they really wanted was to live. Yorinobu always intended to burn Arasaka down from the inside, and without our intervention he succeded, as the radio broadcast in this ending shows, so Johnny got his dying wish. With this ending, everything that needed to be done, was done. The best part is, nobody we know or care about died unnecessarily. The only people in-universe particularly upset by this ending are: Panam, because she wanted to be the one to "fix" you, and was upset you found an alternative solution. It sucks, but that's how it is sometimes. Songbird, because she betrayed and lashed out at everyone while trying to destroy herself, even betraying V while she still actively needed V's help. 🤦‍♀️ and Johnny, who was hoping for a second life he didn't earn and never intended to earn. Credit where due, he handled being told "no" with dignity rather than trying to forcibly take control, like he did on night 1.

@@danielortega4084 Yep, it's the only ending that actually achieves the win condition the game set out. If there were NO "V lives a full life" endings at least we could continue to say "it's a cyberpunk themed commentary on life struggles", but now you can BUY a winning ending that narrative suddenly comes with the asterisk "unless someone else buys you victory". 😡
