I think the game would have benifited from being styled like disco elysium, point and click adventure with no combat, it would have trimmed the fat and left more room for the characters and world building

I honestly really like the game. Its got plenty of issues with the marketing blowing things outta proportion and actual issues with the game on consoles and whatnot but the actual story is great. If you really just take it at face value and ignore the hype and lies, the game would've been considered really good if we weren't blue balled for a year with delays and overhyped marketing. But that's just my opinion.

1:11:03 The best response to friendly fire (which I haven't seen in modern games in ages) is when you attack your companion character, they get mad, and they start attacking you.

Zach isn’t actually working on smiling friends, anytime he tries to come in to record, Tomar runs at him with a large stick shouting obscenities at him. I work for Domino’s and I was delivering an order to them while this was happening, once Zach ran away, Tomar looked at me dead in the eye and said, “If you tell anybody about this I will take your wife and feed her to Chris.” I hope this helps anybody who was wondering where Zach is.

I deliver a lot of packages to his house, to the point where he knows my full name, and anytime I put a package on the wrong part of his porch, he comes out screaming at me. Every time he just talks about hanging my wife or crucifying her or whatever, it's always about my wife, but I don't think he's realized that I'm not even married. I think he's losing his mind since Chris found one of his emeralds.

I'm actually surprised this (out of all) wasn't the kind of playthrough that ended because the game exploded. Even more, most of the problems these guys had with the game were related to the concept of the game itself, and not its glitches, which probably says a lot.

The fact they got as far as they did without major crashes is amazing.

This game is the antithesis of Deus Ex:human revolution, where Adam Jensen "didn't ask for this" when he was turned into a cyborg but Tomar is literally committing vehicular assault, evading arrest and accepting ludicrous interest from the back alley robo doc. He truly has gone off the deep end since he stole a metal gear and sunk an entire submarine full of soldiers

In the state of California. He was kicked out of Portugal in the 70's for commiting over 200 crimes, all crimes were committed against a group of 4 people who tomar chose to torment for decades. It was 30 years of slow poisoning and torture before he was caught but he was so smart he fled the country before they could catch him, and now he bounces from city to city across the US taking advantage of the lack of uniformity with the us judicial system. Before long he will disappear from oney plays after he convinces all the kids watching to commit grand larceny in his name.

Also just so happens to be the year the world was nuked in Fallout, nuclear war as we all know has been implied by Tomar on numerous occasions to be his "last little surprise" when he "exhausts the world of every little morsel of entertainment value"

Kind of cringe of you to not read the rules on never being a hater ever. You can't even dislike things either, it's kinda cool

I know the dead horse has been beaten harder than a rat in Lyle's walls, but Chris is completely correct. Bugs are goddamn hilarious and an entire game experience can honestly be enhanced with the ensuing comedy. Though I understand that people get upset when they spend so much money on games that come out half-assed. That's completely justified, games should be finished, but a few bugs here or there aren't the end of the world if it ends up still being fun for you. But when the marketing blatantly lies and does not represent the games at all, and then you get horrible baseless shills telling you for years how perfect and immersive it's going to be, only to then rate and represent the game based off their preconceived idea of what they thought it would be is fucking bullshit. It sucks to be let down, but at least be honest, the people that rated this game well when it released were lying to everybody, including themselves. They overhyped it so much without actually experiencing it that it becomes a part of their identity, it's like a creepy religion that they can't see any wrong doing within. It's okay to get excited, it's okay to be disappointed, it's just natural human response, but fanboys of anything just stand in utter defiance of realistic expectations that they can't keep those expectations in check, and then they aren't pleasantly surprised with anything. Everything either lives up to fabricated hype and is a 10 out of 10, or it is the worst thing ever because it could have been better. I just wish people kept their expectations in check and were then honest about their experience afterward. I don't find it fun to talk about movies anymore for this reason, and I love movies more than anything. Marketing, fanboyism, and alleged corporate trickery is really annoying.

I think the main reason they got specifically Keanu Reeves for specifically this was because he's been in a lot of cyberpunk genre projects before. Johnny Mnemonic is basically just Cyberpunk: The Movie.

I think this game is really funny for the same reason the back to the future movies are (or any movie from the 80s and 90s that "predicted" the 2000s+ was). They fill it with all this crazy tech but they cant imagine anything beyond upgraded versions of what we already have, and the game itself feels limited by current possibilities. It's a game about the future that is hopelessly trapped in the present.

This is one of my favourite play throughs to watch from OneyPlays and it never fails to make me laugh at Zach and Chris thinking that a montage in a cutscene is a bug.

My first play through I got to the end of the arasaka heist and i could not for the life of me pick it up the next afternoon after work, in that moment i decided to take a page from fans of TW3 and shelve it till CDPR fixed the game, took 3 years for that 2.0 patch and a kickass DLC but I’ve been having the time of my life playing through this game, they truly flubbed up this launch

The one part I do hate is that no matter your choice when starting it doesn't really affect your choices massively or anything nor can you stay on that path fully, unless it was streetkid and maybe nomad, where not much changes.

Usually prosthetics are made to custom fit a very small range of sizes. A lot have adjustable straps to tighten or loosen but if you did lose too much weight you’d have to take your prosthetic in for an adjustment to make it fit comfortably again.

Whenever I have to say the current year in conversation, I do it in that dumb robot voice and it always puts a smile on people's faces.

For those wondering this series is what started Tomar's descent into contemplating the old rabbi that bit his infant foreskin off and sucked the blood. This descent spread randomly intp a few other series and continues to this day.

The fact that this is over an hr and a half and vice city was only 45 minutes is a sin.

This game also uses another great rpg mechanic where they drastically scale health up depending on what section of the game you're in. So yeah combo that alongside multiple headshots and you have the best combat on the planet

Something I just realized is that it’s really weird seeing a double barrel shotgun in a “futuristic” cyberpunk game

yeah that is a good point you made there never thought about that but yeah why is there a standard double barreled shotgun in 2077 like you would think by this time we would have advanced looking shit unless area 51 is hogging all of that 😉

Probably cheaper + can't kill the classics I mean if it shoots and has a good chance of killing, then it's a functional gun even if your opponent has steel skull.

I love how Chris gets mad at the hilarious randomized homunculi spawned by clicking the randomize option over and over again looking like randomized hot trash but not bothering to tell Tomar to repick the actual normal looking presets because he's too busy yelling lmao

It is amazing how well they did with the release of the Witcher 3 and yet ended up completely shattering their own successful image with this game. Even the Witcher 1 was rough but enjoyable and the Witcher 2 was an improvement. Really they should have not rushed the game out till it had more polish. Though I think they fell prey to investor expectations and demands. Which I have noticed is a cause of many companies destroying their reputation by pushing out rushed games or ones made by committee.
