No strangles? Does that include compressing the windpipe, or just compressing the arteries?

No strangles of any sort, in CWA catch matches. However, some other Catch organizations include strangles.

At first I was introduced to Catch-Wrestling as a martial art, but I'm growing to appreciate it as a sport. Curran is top-notch !

@@dondawati4345 it's about better technique but also technique selection. Going toe toe to toe, strength vs strength likely won't work in your favour. So you use angles to always ensure you have a mechanical advantage that negates their power advantage. Then you use either your speed advantage or endurance advantage to wear them out, using techniques that avoid coming at them straight on. A couple examples are ankle picks, low singles, or sweep singles that help you avoid getting stuffed under their hips or trapped in a chest to chest clinch. Once on the ground use of lots of transitions, and running scrambles will tire them out and help break their will.
