CW01 Aluminum Chassis Install

Ойын-сауық

It's only been about 35 years or so, I think it's time for a chassis upgrade, it's about time, eh?
Holy Cannoli! Option #1 makes an aluminum chassis for the CW01? Well slap me silly and call me Betty! Let's giv'er a rip, boys!
As my best pal, Ace Ventura says, it fits: "like a glove" -- Just watch me screw those holes!
If you're looking for your very own chassis, go to eBay, punch in "aluminum CW01 chassis" and the rest is history.
Oh, and be excellent to each other, eh!

Now I'm interested in the whole kit to make a steet racer. For Offroad I prefeer plastic. Thanks for showing and the value informations👍 My opinion is let the front braces in place. It sure does. They're the exact same chassis, so parts are interchangeable. 👍🏻

Have you tried the metal battery tray? Trying to find out what batteries will fit.

    No I haven't, I didn't want the added weight. 👊

Is it much heavier now?? What lipos do you use that fit?? It's frustrating they haven't updated their battery trays. Also, that front end section looks weak. A couple good lawn darts might bend it. Id say no to taking off the supports.

@@s13kuminachu yeah it's definitely heavier now, one viewer said he weighed his and it's exactly 2x the weight of the plastic chassis. I can fit a standard 2S square pack in, just have to loosen the battery tray screws a tad to make the space. Alternatively, I use round 2S lipos I found online, I have a video on them too.

Did you consider putting double wish bone on this rig? Ampro I think makes it

I've considered it a few times, but never pulled the trigger. I think I will now, though. I need to get the Pumpkin out for another rip! 😉

I currently can’t stop buying the tamiya line . I think it has to do with when I was little going to the hobby shop and not being able to afford them. So now I’m going down the list and just buying them and building them with my kids . It’s pretty wild how life works

@@pureblood1005 You're not alone, my friend. The same reasoning is how I came up with my channel name. I grew up in a very poor household, with no money for Tamiya RC's, I'd be lucky to get the Sears brands on occasion. Now as an adult, I can build them, and enjoy them on a totally different level. Welcome to your adult Tamiya years!

@@Louisxs650 Axial axles are pretty common and most hobby shops should have parts. It would be smart to get like, an sCX10 transmission, axles and start fabricating from there. You'd have to 4-link it, front and rear, with the motor/trans mounted in the chassis. It'll take some creative thinking, but it's doable.
