This guy is wrong. The front store staff handles all the crime and the locked up items. Pharmacy doesn’t even open a cabinet for the locked items. There are fewer pharmacists and technicians. CVS was the only one the 3 named that reduced their PHARMACY hours significantly. They still leave the stores open until 10pm which is now considered unsafe in most communities with all the retail crime. How safe is it for 2 employees to leave a store at 10:30pm nowadays? Shame on CVS. Pay better but mostly do better to make a safe environment for your employees.

@@kathiestevensdesigns9385that’s great for you techs and pharmacists. The front staff doesn’t have that option.

There are not fewer pharmacists. There is actually a SURPLUS of pharmacists. There's only a shortage willing to work for CVS.

I completely agree. The front store staff always gets forgotten completely in reports like these. We have to check people out, do daily store walks with a safety checklist, cycle count products daily, stock the shelves, take passport photos, check for out of date items, print and package photo orders from four different printers, help elderly customers with the self service photo kiosks, unlock merchandise from glass cases around the store, do daily price changes, and sometimes be personal shoppers for customers and Doordashers that can't find what they're looking for. We finally have a new district leader that has allotted more hours for our store, so for the first time in almost a year and a half we will have a third person scheduled on truck day so I no longer have to receive and down stack the five pallet truck completely by myself. People only think of the pharmacy staff when it comes to CVS and do not realize just how much the front store staff actually does on a daily basis.

@@sweetsimmermel I noticed that too. Any time there's a news report it's always about RX staff. FS just gets left to the wayside.

Who is this guy? Pharmacist shortage over the past 10 years? I think he needs to go look at the BLS data.

This is Ridiculous !!! Pharmacists are not doctors. When I have questions about my medications, I talk to my pharmacist. When I have health questions I talk to or see my dr. I Do Not want a pharmacy to have any part in controlling my health care. That's between me and my dr.

Honestly, I believe he misspoke. CVS is moving into a new care model. They’re trying to grow their Minute Clinics but mostly they have purchased several companies to have a stronghold on the industry. Especially Medicare recipients and also selling their brand products. They even have several brands that are branded by alternate names. They also own Aetna health which they are growing into more than just health insurance. They’ve purchased a physician care network (I think that’s something I can call it) for seniors. They have at least one hospital. They also are providers of home IV care. Pretty soon they will establish their own hospice, in home care company, increase their presence by growing in the DME (durable medical equipment) offerings. They own a lot. Then every prescription will go to them. And top it off, there will be no middleman to pay but the price wont reflect that.

@@RR-ss7dn I had no idea they owned Aetna and are involved in so many other things. But I won't be having any part in it. I don't want a pharmacy or their care clinics managing my health care. That's between me and my doctor only. No managers or management team wanted or needed. I wonder if Bill Gates is involved in this.

You would be surprised many times people just ask whoever they come into contact. I know when I got a COVID shot at a Walgreens. I was taken aback as the person I spoke to at the counter was the same person who came in to give me the shot It was awkward, hurt for days, seems as though the angle in which she administered the shot was wrong. I felt like she didn't want to do it. NEVER AGAIN.

Actually, many pharmacists ARE doctors, hence you are required to obtain a PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree, unless they got it prior to the year 2000.

99.99% of all pharmacists agree with you. That's why we didn't go to med school. We don't want to be physicians.
