Throttle response is what convinced me the most, after working with jets and needle positions not even a comparison between the carbs..pwk. The really big thing that I learned is when testing you need to be on the scooter. I know it sounds like Huh? Having weight on the scooter while jetting and messing with the needle is imperative for proper feedback!!!

Totally agreed, After taking her off the stand, and putting some weight on her, she starts breathing a tad different. Tomorrow working with the air mixture screw to see if I can get that beginners bog out. I doubt it has a 40 jet in it but we have everyone you can imagine for it. Sparkey looked really good on the 1st pull.

My son and I decided to go for MPG. We have switched to 7g sliding weights, shimmed the variator boss just enough to let the belt sit on the boss when stopped, put stock clutch springs back in, back to stock 51/15 gears. Still using the short case 150 cvt belt 743-20-30. Wider belt climbs higher on the variator. Moved all the way down to a Nibbi PE17FL slide carb, clocking flange to face the carb forward, needle jet leanest setting. I can't remember the jets we used. 50/90 I believe. With the belt having a little more space on the boss, our acceleration is a little better, Clutch is not trying to grab right away. The stock gears help with acceleration too. We now get 52mph at a much lower rpm. Takes a little longer, but it does hold 45 going up hill.

I can see better throttle response, but your air flow is still limited to the size of the intake and exhaust ports. ....you should look into changing the final drive gear in the rear end imo. A 118mm large variator is also a benefit to more top end. Thats the easiest way to get more torque or top speed depending on what gear you chose. I have 1 engine with an A14 cam, K&S clutch, black max 118mm variator, and a very low final drive gear. Its not fast but its super quick. Even with it being a stock piston it pulls wheelys with ease.

Its really easy. You just need a couple sockets and a twist clamp to press the gear on & off the little shaft. If your looking for more top end cheap, the 118mm black max variator is well worth it. The belt rides out higher and puts more rpms back to the clutch bell.

Always do a dry fit before taking anything apart. Vacuum line goes to the intake manifold. Fuel line goes in at top of the carb. That is the blue fuel line coming from the petcock. All other ports are breathing ports, hook up the extra lines and point them towards the ground.
