All WG had to do was change how the spotting mechanic worked and slightly tune down Saipan, but in true WG fashion. They go and make unnecessary changes that weren't needed. And as I predicted. AA is borderline worthless when it's too slow to hit anything.

I slightly disagree. CV haters also share the blame with the monster WG created. As a CV player I try to spot for my team but with SOME of the changes CV haters demanded from WG the new mechanics gives me zero incentive to spot and 100% incentive to farm damage all the time.

@@sunquestenergyhomesolution96 Except you can still spot. Just not permanently spot. You can still focus down the destroyer whose primary function is to be the spotter. What's the point of a DD if a CV targets your destroyer? Guess what. 9 times out of 10. You lost bc a CV killed the games most influential class. This ain't real life where CVs actually changed naval warfare. This is a video game that needs to have balance. Reworked CVs are anything but balanced. Pre-rework. Saipan was dented bc it tanked AA. All that was needed was change how spotting worked and it would've been fine with the addition of fuel so people weren't reversing to the border/map corner.

@@godzillaiv2096 DD's are now easier to hit as well. So again new spotting mechanics are laughably useless and with that we have CV players hyper focused on farming damage like never before seen. Faster planes means less response time for ships and aa. CV's printing planes like crazy so I don't care if I run out of fuel or planes because I know I have another squadron ready to go. I'm almost fully stocked with squadrons of planes at the end of the game. More planes, more speed, more bombs, more torps, zero incentive to spot = damage farming all day.

Took the Ohio out yesterday and shot down 38 planes before finally being killed by the carrier. It’s insanity and makes me not want to play anymore…

@@SkyRaider-31 I haven't noticed, I'm usually too busy dodging to see the number needed for clear sky's. All I know is that I seem to get it every match in my Iowa now.

The game is borderline unplayable at this point with carriers. I really think WG over did this “rework” and just called it that because they didn’t want to say big ass buff.

Yah I completely agree they overdid it. Dive bombers are now basically carpet bombers with guaranteed fires pretty much all the time. Tier 3 is the worst because the AA is straight dogshit and any new player is definitively quitting after dealing with carriers it’s straight shit rn. I’m saying this as a cv main and I love cvs but this is just way too unfair

Not really, I have a complete AA build Iowa and still get double dropped by the carrier and only shooting down like 2-4 planes. I still haven't even gotten a clear sky's, I used to get them kinda descent before this.

My Bismark got sunk in three consecutive carrier runs first game after the update.

The zao can't see the Napoli until the napoli fires. You weren't spotting him.

Best lil trick I’ve learned for carriers is to open the map as soon as you launch your planes and while they’re ascending set your waypoint for wherever, my first move is usually opposite the other team’s bias; then I move with teammates

I look CV but I donot have one yet but I have the sapan being researching in the bureau and it is on the last 2 quarter stages from being finished in the bureau. Should be finished in a few days. I can not wait to try it out. Great video

He says he dont care about AA and that he prints plans and then proceeds to start sending plans back, losing almost all his plans

As a DD player I’m very happy with the update. It’s easier to play the objectives. CV players go for the low hanging fruits and vevy few of them focus the DDs. And when they do focus me as a DD, I can dodge without getting shot from everywhere. It makes CVs less frustrating. Keep in mind CV players are also paying customers. You can’t remove their hability to spot without compensating in another way.

Probally they cannot adapt to change. Want to play boring camping BB. They forgot both side have CV and . CV can push forward to to give AA support

They straight up ported the CV combact capabilites. Surprised they didnt give them rocket attack aircraft

I remember they said they were going to remove the cvs from the tech tree and add some ships in the store to buy for credits. But that never happened I remember playing a match in the nagato and we were losing and we had a Baltimore and was destroying the other team and we won.

Hit the ships bow or stern on with bombs, you’ll land more plus you need to build for speed, you can get the cruising top speed of 269 knots which helps avoid the aa. Also look at how tight the reticle is on the midway, best for bomb damage😉

i'd say i'm a decent cv player but pre-rework i could not break 90k dmg on graf zeppelin mainly because i went for dd spotting and protecting caps. now post-rework my first gale landed me on 174k dmg. it's stupid, i get that a ship beyond a certain range to a enemy ship wouldn't see the ship i'm spotting but there should be a certain range wherein i could spot a ship for my team and any friendly ship within that range to the enemy ship should be able to spot said red ship. WG taking away all spotting from CVs perfectly demonstrates how one class goes from the best support class into a braindead damage farmer

I think they need to add a 12 ship format where carriers are allowed and keep traditional 9 ship games with no carriers until they figure it out and carrier players can just wait in queue for an hour lol

Zeppelin feels pretty nice. Average torp dmg , not to crazy AP planes. The only thing that is above average is the plain speed at 255 kts. It's really fun having planes this fast.

Yeah carriers are officially busted now after today’s update PG did almost 400K in this dang ship like are you serious I shot down 61 planes in a Fing Kii because a Kaga wanted to focus me and my div mate all game explain to me how that’s balanced

I can relate to all the frustrations playing CV like late bombing not releasing and a cuddling opposition decimates planes. But the worst is our folding team flanks… I’m looking forward to getting back online to try the new CV patch, before it gets a hot fix. I was fed up of getting blow out games in my tier V CVs. I’m new to WoWSL since February (and CVs a few weeks after) and averaging 38 percent win, with 52k damage and 1300xp in the Ryujo. I’ve lost games when getting over 100k damage or 5-6 kills enough times; then some that are a total flop… that’s more recent as team mates seem unwilling to cap, so I’ll jump in. I think friendly party-chat play must be the way forward. Be good to see if the patch improves that - but sounds like AA is being deployed. Previously it was highly evident when someone was running a proper AA setup, even on things like the Kidd, and I’d lose the entire squadron. Before the patch I noticed often people bunched up in groups. Then did a clockwise dance around the map. I wonder if this patch will worsen that.

Whether it works or not, all plane consumables are going onto my ships and the aa mods. This new carrier update with the nevernending carrier plane assaults got me all paranoid.

At this point it is World of Bull💩!

I have seen a game with a Minotaur, a Conqueror, an Alaska with a Lushun that were very close together giving each other AA cover...and they are VERY powerful ships in AA...and they could not avoid the attacks of the aircraft carrier. The game is designed so that you can NEVER avoid the first wave of planes...regardless of how much AA you have. For me that is the big mistake. And now the aircraft carrier is an aircraft factory…just make an attack…new planes…an attack, new planes…

Your teammates might not have had spotting of the Napoli when you complained about them not shooting her. Remember your teammates don't see what you see as a carrier anymore.

Hey Spartan, I was the friendly zao this game. I had just got the zao and was trying it out. I didn't mean to cause the loss. The only reason I wasn't able to kill the low health napoli was that the conq was shooting AP and i didn't want to take another hit from it. GG by the way.

Every CV is now pre-nerf Ark Royal with unlimited planes and speed. 😂

They need to increase the range of AA by 1km and increase the restoration times. Give carriers a limited amount of planes. The Kaga should not be shitting out 500 planes when her size only allows 80.

@@thebigsad5402 nah my Iowa full AA build shoots only 2-4 planes down from a wave. Still get dropped twice. Iowa had the best AA out of all bbs yet we still eat 8 airdropped torps? Come on man 3-5km more of flak would be fine. Maybe we'd only get dropped once

Had only time for one CV Game in the midway yesterday. Did easily 270k, without even trying hard. 🙂Think I will try today, to get better results.

The update is quite troublesome, right? because we cannot move freely because there is a Fule feature that limits the movement of the plane

I’m a pretty new player and have been grinding to the Kansas (just unlocked it, have to grind for the money) in the N. Carolina, and haven’t been torn to shreds by carriers yet. I haven’t noticed much about the buff, except for shooting down more 40 planes in one match, which is a lot more than before. However, these comments (and the video) are scaring me, so maybe I should be focusing more on AA, especially going into Tier 7?

I love when players tell me to get back when I'm at island speed driving a US Battle ship .

I'm pretty sure I get the exact same team you got stuck with anytime I need to get some wins and can only get a few matches in before work. I swear, I've seen this exact same team lose us a match in Versus AI.

I think it’s kinda cool but also when I got into a round with a CV they sting a lot and it’s annoying as heck it’s freaking wild! But hey I enjoy a challenge

Maybe this fall under the "any publicity is good publicity" category.

Maybe we will see more post war ships that have enhanced AA if this revisions sticks to the wall. I mean by all mean it’s makes them more fun but harder to deal with for sure.

It's crazy now any cv I played its super easy to get 2500 plus xp with barely doing anything. I noticed they test enough. They let cvs become way to powerful

I agree that this is too cracked. But personally, I find it very satisfying to see the sky light up with tracers and flak so the only positive I see is the visual satisfactions of AA curtains going up 😂

It's a nerf to the planes,you have shorter up time,and after the first bomb drop,doesn't matter the ship,it's auto programed to just shoot down the last of the planes,but first drop hardly any AA at all,I'm not stupid I can tell,it's a buff for the destroyer players,due to me not being able to just hang around and keep them spotted,facts on this matter

@SpartanElite43 "白龍" is the Japanese name, meaning white dragon, and is pronounced Hakuryu, with more emphasis on the r and y towards the end, making a RE sound, where as you're pronouncing it more as Ha-ku-roo, which would be incorrect for the Japanese CV

I was playing Atlanta with 7 kilometer aa range

The spotting rework was much needed but they really didn’t need to buff carriers at all. CVs have always been the most unbalanced class, I don’t understand why wargaming felt it necessary to give them a massive buff to compensate after reworking their spotting and reducing their fire setting chances.

At least battleships have a decent health pool. Cruisers without AA are ripe targets now.

I feel like, with this new update, I’m always getting targeted. There’s always two destroyers 1 minute the match and get past everyone that go after me It’s so scummy bc, I see the opposite carrier, I know where the carrier is yet refuse to go after the carrier until the carrier being the second to last or last ship Also I hate the “fuel” system, it’s just so ass. Why tf did they think this was a good idea

WG has two options with Hakuryu, Nerf the torpedo damage to 8000 or reduce the strike squadron tô 3 planes. The AA build are playable.

I think their plan was to make CVs more playable. The AA is always that way every game, and the AA bubble has been used plenty of times before this patch. That being said, I expect this is why they released this as is. It's hard to gauge real-world effects even in testing. I'm assuming that by the end of the week, they'll re-tune it; or tune the AA up a bit. I'm honestly laughing my ass off at every CV crier atm; as this patch is a direct reaction to all the crying and endless CV nerfs. They want CVs to be played more as they counteract DDs the best. So how do they get more CV players per game? Buff CVs , so AA will still shred your planes, but you're not sitting around doing nothing for 7 minutes waiting for the next strike group to spawn. It's a pendulum. The more it swings one way; the more it goes back the other way.

When you attack a ship..you speed up with your plane's..the AA won't shoot your planes down so much

or wg breaks cvs like they did with pc, during the attack run cv planes cannot be damaged / shot down. only before or after the attack, mostly after. and yeah, your aa is that useless when the bombers / rockets / torpedo bombers are inbound.

I've also noticed that the two legendary carriers aren't available to buy for credits in the store for the Bureau. Wonder if that means anything.

What was interesting yesterday. I shot down 36 planes. And did not get a clear sky. Did they change that as well

A streamer broke an all time server damage record in a CV yesterday. 480k damage

Its nice to see a 250k dmg in a BB but its unnaceptable if a CV does 200k. Why?

That's a false equivalency, but I'll explain anyway. Because the BB relies entirely on RNG. A 250k game is uncommon in a BB. CV's don't rely on RNG at all, they have a different mechanic. The average CV game now is 300k damage, something very rare in BB's. If all a CV has to do is point and click 300k damage with no risk, players will complain. That's why players are upset now

BB has to carry his butt off to put up a 200k game, and play everything nearly perfectly. A carrier doesn't have to do anything special to do that now. It's literally too easy for them nowadays.

Because BBs have to actually move to put such numbers up and those games are very uncommon as most games are over in 5 minutes. BBs is reliant on RNG to have those games. Can't compare a class that's reliant on RNG against a class that's guaranteed damage. That's not how this works.

Apologies, but I gotta rant here. Ya know, I really thought Wargaming was cooking something this update, but that was quickly snuffed out. Not the Carriers, GOD NO, that's it's own issue. My problem is the D-Day event. I'm a Canadian, and proud of my navy. WHY IN THE F*CK Wargaming, would you make the Haida an event exclusive?!?! My country has ONE famous Warship for Legends, which has been one of the most requested ships of the game NEXT TO F#CKING HINDENBURG. Haida being an Event exclusive is a goddamn disgrace. Make my country's ship purchasable from the store, or make a Commonwealth Tech Tree line featuring Canadian ships (Athabaska, Haida's sister ship, or HMCS Yukon, from WOWS PC). Ball's in your court, WG.

Remember when everyone was complaining about Ark Royal being broken and they finally had to nerf it and give people refunds? Well, now pretty much every carrier is Ark Royal. SOME of the changes could work or might even be decent ideas but this is so typical of WG. I'm not sure if its gross incompetence or greed with this company but right now I'm leaning towards the former.

I don’t like carriers but for a legendary carrier, they should’ve just put the Shinano in.

I was just out in the Nevada and there was a T5 CV on each team. They both topped their teams, the red CV picking up 4 kills. To say I fucking detest CVs and the cockroaches who play them is putting it mildly. They were a pain in the arse before but now, they're literally ripping the pish out of the game and the players of every other class.

Yep had an average of 1 out of 10 games with carriers...now it's 9 out of 10

Damage output of most cvs is way too high but carriers are a work in progress i guess

I suck in carriers. Can't play em. I have the Haku because I want all the Japanese ships. Pulled it out of port and backpacked a team with it after the update, 210k damage battle and four ships sunk. I could barely crack 60k with it before. That is not okay.
