Always nice to get this kind of information and tool updates from Rob, keeps us all in the loop nicely. Obviously, been looking/waiting for a blade like this . Soon as they come out with one that'll cut through 4"&6" insulated p/b , using a tracksaw, we'll be in business.

Totally impressed with using the bare hole saw to mark the centre of the cut out. Very clever Robin. 👏👏

Hi there Robyn use a tct holesaw instead of the metal/timber holesaw to cut the holes out alot quicker and better suited to cutting fibrecement

I use 8cm XPS as sacrificial boards. If you buy a full pack they also make great, height adjustable, super lightweight hopups.

Nice work giving me some ideas I was thinking about using abacus bored. I did the same job on a bunk out for my toilet with the soil stack running up the side which is already in situ. Nice work 👍👍👍👍

CMT Tools also an extremely good blade maker, also from Italy, same as the Freud blades. Both make superb saw blades, router bits, jigsaw blades etc. Love your videos, I find I always learn something 🙂

Thanks Robin, lovely work as always. Curious if you ever think the modern foam and cement sandwich boards (Abacus / Marmox / etc.) are ever preferable over these traditional cement boards. Having used both I find the foam stuff much easier to work with, but never feel it's quite as rigid, at least when fixing to studs.

Any tips for specialist screws for fixing cement boards?

Interesting video, I like Freud blades. My Bosch plunge saw uses 140mm size blades which makes things a bit difficult. Freud don't make this size in a PCD. Others do though. Video very useful. Neat framing and plumbing on display. Must be nice to work with skilled people

@@dougsaunders8109 No worries though actually I use Makita rails with it. They're not as well engineered but they're a lot cheaper and don't slip like the Bosch / Mafell rails do. Horses for courses I guess.

Like the look and footprint of the embedded toilet tank, but I’m leery of them because of what it will require to fix a leak.

You won’t get any problems with these if fitted properly. They have been the standard toilet system in many European countries for over 25 years that I know of from working there since early 90’s

The cistern has its own isolator built in to the access point, and all my other outlets have individual full bore isolator valves

Hi Robin, do you know if there is a blade for the rail saw that would cut 20mm thick porcelain tiles. Tiles are to big for the tile cutter and don't trust myself enough to free hand cut them with my stilth saw. Hiring a dedicated saw is not an option. I know festool do a saw designed for this but if possible I would rather use what I have rather than buying another tool. Thanks in advance for any advice.

How did those Hole Saws manage or did you bin them, I hate cutting that stuff, no way would I use my TS55 to cut that stuff!!

I'm feeling the same with my maffel. But , I guess, if it does the job, and right... then what are we to do like? I'll definitely be getting a blade and using in my circular saw first I guess.

In response to comments, I was envisioning water leaking from the cistern, not ingress from the room.

15:20 instead of making 4 holes you can just cut one big hole, doesn't make any difference for the end result, a simple diamond shape is all you need

Presumably the cement board is for water resistance? But on a wooden frame? Am I missing the point?

Those very hard cement boards are going out. There are a lot ,, A LOT ,, of better backer boards out there.

I wouldnt want to be the plumber who,in ten years time has to find and replace the manifolds on that back wall....

With the correct blade and dust extraction there is no problem with using a decent saw such as the TS55 for all materials, indeed my first TS55 is going strong after nearly 20 years so it has paid for itself so many times I would be cool if it did break!!! but there really is no sign of that!

I think I’m going to unsubscribe. There has just been too much product placement and sponsored content in recent months. Your older videos which just showed you working were great. But when the salesman took over from the craftsman, you lost me.
