Brian is an awesome friend and worker. You get so much work done even with 1 additional person. Crack on 🎉
I love it when you give a detail explanation on what you are doing and then end with the phrase "That's the plan anyways." So true....
Last time i was looking an episode for a second time actually i was at work during my break. When my colleagues heard the hammering they asked. What are you building ( as they knew i had been renocsting my home for over 5 years ) . So I told them ' a Chateaux at France' 😂😂😂. Greetings from Germany to all the orher addicts 😅
Yes! The first part of the roof was sooo difficult! Cold, windy, stormy! Never forgotten that epic clip!

I was invited to help at a small village in Brittany, clearing an overgrown garden. I ‘adopted’ an Oak tree that was being strangled by an Ivy that had a circumference of about 8”. Having been successfully removed, I was reminded by one of us, that it was a ‘Treasonable Offence’ to save a French Oak tree! But, only in Henry the Eighth’s time!!

And it worked bc I promised myself this video as a reward for doing it. I love your videos so, they are so good, i will literally reward myself with watching them! Keep up the good work!

I am so glad that company gifted you the proper tools to do the job. I really didn't want you to do the roof a year ago. Seems there isn't a job too tough for you to tackle. Well done Sir.
The additions of tools along the way through this project has helped immensely with efficiency and time saving. Kudos to the TOOLS!!!!

I helped my late brother in law make & cut bird mouths when he extended into loft of his chalet style bungalow about 25 years ago ! We had to jack up the whole roof as it had sagged since 1960 s! We used a little bottle-jack more suited for lifting a family car! All timbers calculated , measured & cut , we jacked it up, & popped in the timbers ! Reminded me when bird mouths mentioned this evening ! Greatly enjoy your video reports ! Thank you !
I’m so very very very happy to see your daily videos/progress!! Thank you!! .
I am not a health and safety nut but, standing on the top wall handling heavy timbers with no fall protection gives me the chills.

We are so happy for the roof thingy. Guys well done, keep up with good work
It is interesting how you guys work together with hardly any talking, you just all seem to be in tune with each other. Watching such hard working men, who do the job to the best of their abilities, is so heart warming, and your Chateau young Dan, is going to be such an amazing place! xxx
I wait to watch you channel every day. I’m 80 yr old young buck 😊. I enjoy watching your build. Give a lot of credit. Keep good work up. Most of all be safe you and your crew
"I've got better tools now" is the understatement of the year, Dan. I always marvel at each new cool tool you add.
Poetry in Motion…never thought building a roof was so elegant ❤
That lift is amazing. Nice acquisition. The Chateau is going to be so much stronger than it was thanks to all your maths and construction skills. 👍

I can't believe how close you are getting to a complete roof. A year ago I would have never have believed it would be possible for you all to have made so much progress so quickly.
Roof beginning to take shape. Looking good.
That lift device is brilliant. Hard to believe the months have passed so quickly and you've nearly finished the 2nd part of the roof.
I've fallen in love with masonry thanks to you Mr. Preston.🥰😅 France should give you a Palme D'Or for Best Vlog and Macron endorse you in convincing others that France is now where one goes to build a dream .
The lifter is brilliant. From roof 1 to roof 2 construction - unbelievably quicker - no wonder you are smiling from ear to ear. Team work makes the dream work - thank you Brian for helping out Dan😊
I am so glad you have Brian to help you. You guys are doing wonderful fantastic job.
I’m just loving the new lift.Great progress Dan and Brian today🥰
"A roof thingy " a new technological term for me😂
We built a custom New England home and I couldn’t resist having a mansard roof on the garage wing!!! Just a second empire gal at heart!!! The builders planned their summer vacation around the roof build because they all wanted to be in on the build!!! Loved that place!!❤❤❤❤
However much I enjoy watching the one man show it is so awesome that you have a Brian and Nic to help. The dream team !!!
It never ceases to amaze me how experience makes things much more acurate and much faster. I'm a cabinet maker and remember making everything individually when I wasn't that experienced which took a huge amount of time. Now I work from a cutting list, using templates and jigs and make hundreds of components that all fit perfectly. Confidence plays a big part, once you know the potential pitfalls you can build them out.. I can tell you dreaded having to work on the roof again Dan but I'm sure now you've got everything working smoothly, with the right machinary, you're enjoying putting it all together. There's something incredibly gratifying about knowing exactly what your doing with no doubts about how it'll turn out. A bit of luck with measurements doesn't hurt either...
Yes, I very much remember you out in the snow by yourself. So nice to see you getting help and having the tools you need.

Yes! The lift is saving so much of their strength and wear and tear on their bodies lugging heavy boards and buckets of mortar up to the new fourth level. So now they're expending all that saved energy on the actual construction, accomplishing multiples of the day's work they could physically get done before, and delighting themselves and us along with them.

How cool is that lift?! Look at the labor savings being able to move the timbers like that without you all having to be the mules up the stairs or to rope them together to bring them up with the winch. Fantastic and super smart! I find this channel to be superior to any home improvement network programming. This is reality tv at its fundamentals! Great job!
