Cutting a Phonak BTE Hearing Aid in Half

Have you ever felt like destroying your hearing aid because it's just not working as it should?
Or are you a hearing professional who wants to smash that device that's in your office for the 100th time for repair?
Maybe you're just interested in what the inside of a modern hearing aid looks like.
In this episode I'll help you all and cut a Phonak Behind-The-Ear (BTE) hearing aid in half. You'll see a microphone, a receiver, a telecoil and a microchip. Even if I don't disassemble the device with surgical precision, it is still interesting to see where the parts are located in the hearing aid. So it's entertaining and educational - pretty good combination ;-)
And yes, the camera work is not always perfect... I'll work on it.
IMPORTANT: the hearing aid is defective - I don't destroy working hearing aids for fun!
Special thanks to Hearplace.com for making the hearing aid available to me.

Hi Samantha. Sorry for the late reply. If the problem still persists: usually you can push the receiver back in place without any issues. Depending on the material you might need to heat the material just a little bit (please let a professional do that). Best, Dave
