Wow - so much excitement! Tulip is such a sweet cuddlebaby today, and she loves that her big brother Colton shares his apple with her. Then she is very polite with her new, shy friend Stormy. When Stormy slips into the the pool at 4:04 you can really see how long she is from nose to tail! You really are the Beaver Whisperer, Holley - Stormy trusts you enough to let you pick her up out of the water. And Freddy is gorgeous! 💕🌷🦫 💕🌪️🌹🦫 💕🐢 💕🐬 💕💙 💕🏡

Whole different vibe with Tulip and Stormy in the same pool. A friend’s big tortoise - Mudd - who passed this Spring - would extend his left rear foot when happy. He tolerated cat and dog siblings n the house. They had a harness to walk hm in the park and a stroller to carry there. He specially like her husband and would sit n the couch with him. Mudd is greatly missed…

Even if she's not super comfortable sharing it yet. Each interaction has gone a little better though so I have a feeling it will keep going that way. After all, Stormy is letting Dr. Holly handle her way more than before! Oh Freddy! Who doesn't love a good butt scratch?! He's following you like "you can't be out of scratches! Scratches forever!"

Scared about the effects of the bacteria? I'm sure that since she said its good bacteria from Willow (a staple food for Beavers) my guess is that it would be comparable to yogurt for us. We all have some different bacterias in our stomach to help break food down. It confusing because there's so many different kinds, but no worries!

That was a great first meeting in the big pool , Stormy actually looks comfortable being held , she wasn't struggling ,, I noticed she went into log mode for a bit , but Tulip wad excellent at keeping her distance and not bothering her , that will hugely help for more meetings , I would have been panicking at her being underwater for so long 😮 how long can they hold their breath 😮 She looks healthier, its great to see. I loved seeing Freddie , he came over for some fuss 😂 I would love to give his head a tickle , I didnt know about their shells being sensitive to scratches , he loved it. You just know they have a DNA that has seen it all , humans coming and going over centuries, they are practically dinosaurs , I bet they look at modern humans and roll their eyes , they were around before us and will hopefully be still around long after humans wipe themselves out in the future. Such amazing creatures, I think I've become more misanthropic over the years , I just think humans are over rated in the grand scheme of life , too many animal species just show us up , I watched a clip of a pack of horses and one of the leaders showed empathy and leadership to one of the older ones, I swear they were talking telepathically, it really opened my eyes to animals being more intelligent than we ever give them credit for , we have become so selfish, so greedy that animals are being more overlooked than ever, when really we should be learning from them, I honestly think humanity would become better if the study of animals and their preservation became a priority.

Tulip is permanently under-sized due to the massive infection she was fighting for the first six months of her life which took all her stamina to fight. Holley said that during a vet checkup it was discovered that Tulip's bone plates had prematurely fused meaning that although she is perfectly formed, she will never grow any bigger. She is around 1/2 the size of a full-grown beaver and will stay that way.
