I actually do my nails similar to you, by applying a peelable polish in the center avoiding the edges and then putting my base coat on the entire nail after - it's so convenient and prevents damage for my nail plate.

@@SugaSwag If you take that peelable base all the way to the edge, it’s more likely to peel off prematurely.

The best way to prevent the gel paint/polish spreading is to apply a matte top coat before drawing the design. It makes the surface so much smoother and prevents bleeding, so you end up with a super crisp line!
