I’ve heard disgusting comments like that about me and my daughters hair (whom is 3 years old) from my own family members. It’s nothing but self hate. Just because they’re not comfortable with their hair and the skin they’re in they want to reflect their own insecurities on you! I swear some black people are so brainwashed it’s truly sad to see. We have the most powerful yet delicate hair in the world, our coily hair is a connection to God. That’s why it’s so important to know yourself. You and your daughter are absolutely gorgeous! With respect I think its just teaching her versatility and to have options🤷🏽 But hey, I also don't view everything as self-depracating. Despite what MANY think, we have been using wigs and weaves for centuries before being colonized. The sad part is that for an industry worth billions and supported predominantly by melanin women, our people own next to nothing in it; that's a travesty and not teaching generational wealth. Overall though we have always been expressionists through our hair and its styling. This is no different. Now i would understand if the mama was on here bad mouthing their hair or saying self-abusive words but nothing in her words said anything about using that hair to hide her daughter's beauty. It was simply added for taste👌🏽

Thank you for this video it doesn't apply to hair in my case but my son is special needs and ppl at times don't treat him the best. Thank you for the word that even though our kids aren't perfect in the eyes of others we must love them anyways. Today was his birthday and a lady looked at him with such scorn it broke my heart😓

I’m sorry that you had to experience someone who is so insecure with themselves that they felt that they need to pick on you and your child. Some women in the US have a great insecurity about their hair but in response to the insecurity they down talk others. Here we have a thing That we label as “good hair” and truth is healthy hair is “good hair”not how curly or not curly hair is. I am from the US and I have type 4C B, and 4A in my hair.
