While I was watching the movie I was all like “I don’t think Herons eat mallard Ducks even if they do why would they eat elderly ducks?” When I looked up herons they do eat Mallard Ducklings it would make sense because normally predators go after the weak and/or young from herds or ducks case flocks

Actually Herons do eat ducklings. They eat crabs, frogs, fish, salamanders, mice and other birds, including ducks

A incredibly freaky and weird but also caring and sweet character this lady heron.. I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie character like that I love it!👍🏻

Imagine holding a frying pan with a duck family sitting in it and quacking at you. That would be so adorable.😊

The lady heron sounds like Miss Crawly from Sing and Sing 2. Dax's voice reminds me of Tim Templeton from Boss Baby.

He's probably half-dead. For a bird of his age, small wonder. The only remaining STRONG part of him is his predatory instinct.

I was like "WHAT IS THIS?" but then I got Ice Age (first movie) vibes and so I stuck around. OK. 😊❤ I like it 😂

Wels catfish in Europe have snatched birds, muskrats, water voles, rabbits, and even small dogs swimming across the waters.

Herons can have long lifespans compared to other large birds. So they're the old kind of cooky, and that's also the funny kind!

Hello, there it's Me Lavarius Cork: When I first saw the Migration movie 2023 I thought the Herons were going to eat the mallards but when I watch towards the end when Dax and Gwen were trap a Giant Catfish swoop up Dax and Gwen and Erin the elderly Heron Saved the Young Mallards ducks: Dax and Gwen so the Mallard family stayed the day and said goodbye too the Herons and they continued their Journey towards Jamaica.

1:05 Considering all the weaponry in there, I don't think Erin has much trouble eating!

In 3d this was really good🦆🌠✨😇

Only difference is they can fly.

So nice too see Carol Kane and Danny DeVito being together in this film. I say that because they were acting together in the tv series Taxi.

Harry's practically half-dead, while Erin is a kind, if slightly senile old bird who's showing her age in certain ways more than others.

This scene kinda reminds me of the scene from Rio when Blu and jewel played dead. Don’t ask why. The biggest difference is that it’s not cringe.

I never understood this scene. Are they good or bad? Or are they just supposed to come off as scary?

They come off as creepy (after all they are fierce predators), but they are well-meaning

@gisellethesquid, Yes, the herons are meant to come off as scary. However, these are great blue herons, who generally prefer fish, but nonetheless are known to prey upon ducklings every now and then. Which is what causes the whole confusion for the ducks when they realize the herons had no interest in consuming them. Had these been gray herons, the story would’ve changed a little bit.
