I literally had a guy show me some bs. I said this is a pyramid scheme. He says no it’s not. I said. Look. Pause your video and look at that upside down. He looked so dumbfounded it literally was inverted and many poor saps fall for it.

The main reason Cutco is a huge value is the fact that you have the amazing warranty with them. I’ve paid 5-6 hundred dollars for knives that have only lasted a few years.

I've had my CUTCO set for 25 years and still in love with them.

To be honest, I was given a Cutco clip point hunting knife with a double d edge. It was given to me in the mid 90s. I have cleaned a lot of deer, fish, and camped with it for 30yrs. The knife is fucking amazing.

I acquired my first Cutco knives in 1971… that’s 51 years ago!! I have been using them and adding to my kitchen knives since. I’ve sent them in to be sharpened for free and in some instances replaced at no cost when Cutco deemed the knife should be replaced instead of sharpened. I had a pair of Kitchen Shears that could no longer be returned to optimum performance replaced. I even sent in a paring knife that had lost its tip and it too was replaced. I have never had a problem with the handles and consider them to be well balanced. Are they expensive? Yes. But they are a lifetime investment. I have definitely found value in ownership. Besides while other knives are cheaper, you’ll end up throwing them away and buying new. I’d hate to think how much those cheaper knives would have ended up costing me after 51 years. So, yes, I am a fan of Cutco knives.

Even without the dishonest business practice they're selling a cheapo product for egregious prices.

Currently working for them... so far, I haven't found shadiness, ngl. Unpaid training: Yeah... they don't get paid for it either. Referrals: you're the only one who talks to them so they aren't shared. Hiring new applicants: just inviting people as a fresh employee can get you free stuff... though it's not a great incentive since that's more sharks in the sea.

I splurged on a 5 piece kitchen basics Cutco Set in the 1980's. It was my best investment. I make 14 quarts at a time of sauce from scratch throughout the year and it would take forever if I did not own this perfect set of knives. My hands and fingers are safe because of the well fitting handles. I've added to my set and enjoy every piece! I came across this KZread and couldn't believe the review. In our motorhome I have a post-it note of last minute packing items and 3 Cutco knives are a must, the cheese, paring & trimmer. My husband already has the fishing and filet knives in his tackle box, those I also need at times. I've used friend's knives in their kitchens and get frustrated, eventually gifting them with a basic, maybe a trimmer or the cheese knife. Interesting Cutco could be in business so long and still sell a coveted product to good cooks. It's been 12 years since I've sent them for sharpening, and so excited for their guaranteed service to return practically new knives. Might be my last send away as I'm in my mid 70's. But I'll still give as gifts!

The company almost got my son 18 working for them ripping of people telling him how to sell this things in family and Neighbourhood. So he gets in trouble with IRS. Telling my son his family and neighbors have nothing to do and sit only at home he have to beg us to buy them. You’re not smart when you’re old I see a lot of old people they are just got ripped off by life. I protect my kid. And we don spend 6 k on some knife we’re he gets 1 k in his pocket 3 k IRS and 2 k for cutko. Is not a investment if u buy scrape steel knife and hold on to it for all you live

“Worked” for Vector one summer in college. Learned a valuable lesson about who I was and what I didn’t want to do professionally. That being said, I still have my original knives and the DD edges still work after 30 years (never sharpened). I love the knives! Just ordered the Ultimate block so I can get them all together. Either you don't cook much or only use it to cut butter because a $10 stamped sheet metal knife does the exact same job. A real steel knife will actually last a lifetime and work like new after sharpening.

I have several cut o knives & 1 Babish knife. My Babish knife developed rust spots with in 1 month. What did I do wrong?

I’ve had a great experience with Cutco. Had one set for 30+ years. Cutco sharpens my knives for free, even came to my house to do the sharpening. The rep found a couple of knives with damaged handles from normal use plus one that I had melted the handle. The replace all of them for free. They even told me that if I pass down my set to my kids, the warranty goes with them. And btw, the reps I met were great! I’m a Cutco fan!

@The Rooster No this is absolutely true, they do lifetime free sharpening sand the warranty is a no questions asked warranty. Now, this is why the knives are SOOO overpriced, and for someone who sharpens my own knives I don’t need the lifetime sharpening guarantee, but DO see why that is valuable to some ppl. Also, I’m not really a fan of the geometry of the blades that I’ve tried, too thick blade stock and too thick behind the edge. But the guy who made the original comment above is not lying about his experience

@@Empty7775 For under $100 the Tojiro DP Series is impossible to beat. For under $200 the Takamura R2 Migaki, Tojiro Pro or Kohetsu Aogami Super & HAP40 lines are great, for around $300 Yu Kurosaki is amazing and if you prefer western profile blades the Zwilling Kramer Euroline is good.

My guy is just saying anything he can that would make it sound bad. Cutco has a forger in the factory and do a double heat treating process on the steel which keeps them sharp. No mass produced knife is completely hand made that would be idiotic. The handle has been proven to be more comfortable to anyone with arthritis and is in a New York museum of art. Clearly just hating to hate

I've never seen a more poignant example of the Dunning-Kruger effect, you're so hilariously ignorant that you don't even understand how little you actually know. Firstly there's no such thing as a 'forger'. A forge or a blast furnace which is what actual blacksmiths use to bring steel up to temperature is something Cutco does not have, because all of their blades are stamped from 440A stainless sheets, only thin, soft, shitty steel can be stamped. Quality steel of appropriate stock thickness has to be laser or waterjet cut, drop forged or true forged. 440A is the cheapest stainless with the lowest carbon content that you can buy, until you get into 420 series restaurant supply store knives that are $5 a pop. There is no amount of heat cycling and cryo treatment that can be done to 440A to make it have anything more than dogshit edge retention, its sub 56 hrc with low carbon and high chromium, the only thing it has going for it is stain resistance. The handle is awfully designed for a proper pinch grip, the blades are hollow ground with no distal taper and way too shallow at the heel.

I just applied for an interview with them bc i got an envelope from them in the mail recommending me to apply for the summer 😭😭😭 i think im gonna tell them I've changed my mind and look elsewhere for summer jobs...

Omg I literally just got recruited and after watching this idk how I’m gonna tell them I quit like I haven’t even went to a training yet do I just not show up or what?

I’m in college working for Cutco right now and we don’t do door to door anymore. In fact most of our demos are typically virtual now. I’ve made a good amount of money, I pay monthly bills and I used to work two jobs and was able to pay my bills and fund my tuition. I’m training to be an assistant manager and I love my job and the people I work with. The handle is made of thermo resin, the handle is comfortable and I’ve had many customers say they love the handles. It’s also made to be dishwasher safe. The reason why it’s high valued it’s because of the forever guarantee. I’ve been treated very well at this job and I feel bad for people who have had bad experiences and I’m sure it’s part managers. I have amazing managers and I’ve had an amazing experience with the knives and with the company. I’m going to Punta Cana with this company soon.

I worked two months for this job during college one summer. I sold like 4 sets in my first month but that was luck. I got free knives instead of money as a bonus. I still use them, lol I was convinced for the longest time that they were the world’s strongest knives

I hate Vector but I have had Cutco for 20+ years and they are still rocking good. They are the set I bought when I was 21. I have some forged high end knives and love, but are expensive. And who else makes the Spatula Spreader? That thing rocks for days.

just to let everyone know, surgeons actually use worse than 440a steel for their scalpels. The reason for that is they use disposable blades which they throw away after each surgery.

@@kmarshirley there probably are but it’s more than likely not used in a hospital setting, the issue is the microchips from cutting people open, those can get tissue and other stuff in them which ok you can sterilize it but it has a higher chance of not making the clean cut you need after which you need to suture the person back together. Also the size of it makes it near impossible to sharpen and get back to its original form without breaking it. Me as a medic in the army, I would probably get myself a personal set if I were ever to deploy to a combat zone but also a lot of rules go out the window in a combat setting.

Almost got conned by them right out of high school in 2007. What made me dodge it was that the manager who was claiming he made tons of money from Vector, wore the same suit with a tear in it for 3 days straight.

My parents have a Cutco knife set sold to them by my brother's friend some 15 years ago. I liked them at the time if only because they were replacing a cheap set of WalMart knives my dad got in like the early 90's. They're WAY overpriced, but I guess technically better than literally the worst knife on the market (though not if you compare them dollar-for-dollar). Back in the summer after my freshman year of college I was having trouble finding a job and found a Vector marketing ad. I signed up and made it to like the second day of training when I could physically FEEL the soul draining from my body and never went back. Found a much more fulfilling job facilitating a day camp a week or so later.

When you are over 50 and your parents purchased Cutco Knives over 50 years ago....had knives replaced and resharpened without question......it is hard to beat the service. Yes there are better knives out there but do you get the same customer service and warranty....NO! I have a full set and there is no buyers remorse. Dog on them all you want but people who buy these knives are not using them professionally. Our knives are used daily and when we have guests they enjoy the steak knives and we get comments on how nice they are and how sharp they are!

Ive owned a set for a couple years now, the pairing knife is honestly the best knife since its impossible to screw up a pairing knife. The mini nakiri clever is useless except for cutting sticks of butter. The chef knife is a little clunky but it gets the job done for small amounts of cutting however doesn't perform well for large amounts. Also all 3 handles are cracking in the same spot at the top even though I hand wash.....love the show love the knife look and price wished they performed or they made a more expensive knife that lived up to expectations. Anyway just thought you could make a cool video with some of the tests they do on the show like an apple slice or smashing giant bones!!!

I am the guy 99% of the time who follows your "if i can get equivalent for cheaper, then I will" train of thought. But not in this case. I will ALWAYS recommend cutco knives. I drop them all off once a year for sharpening (for free). When they get damaged or worn, they replace them for free. My grandma has a set that is older than me and the steak knives still cut like its butter and still look like new (probably because they've been replaced over the years). I understand the hate on the marketing side, but i still love my cutco

I actually work for Cutco right now. The reason why the blade is $152 is because you’re not just paying for a knife. You’re paying for a knife that’s literally FOREVER GUARANTEED. The handle won’t chip,break, or crack. However if it does you can always return it back & get a free one back. Not sure why you’re complaining about the knife for; if you didn’t like it then you had the option to return it & get your money back

It's a resin handle, a plastic Victorinox won't chip, break or crack, but they sure will melt on a hot surface. Cutco could replace a knife 5 fold and still make a profit, that shows you how heinously overpriced they are. Would you buy a base model Honda Civic for $150,000 if it had a forever guarantee?

I've been using my set 20 years.. The shears still work after I accidentally cut an electrical cord still plugged in and melted a spot, but didn't shock me.. Knives are also still great. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Love my cutco... had them for 4 years 0 regrets, use them daily. Mother in law had them from the 1950s and she used them till she passed away in 2021 now her grandkids have them and they love them...100% worth the investment.

I went in for a interview with them. I walked out and never looked back. Extremely shady.

my mom and grandma have knives from vietnam that are like $5-15 USD and they cut sooooo good. barely need to sharpen them. never used cutco, but i doubt it’s better than those knives that my mom/grandma have had for over 20 years

It's easy to beat stamped, hollow ground 440A stainless with no distal taper, at less than a third of the price. It's overpriced junk, they should be priced equivalently to an entry level Forschner or Dexter.

My mom has that cutco knife from 20 years ago. I can get it sharp but it spends most of it’s life quite dull

so I sold Cutco for like 2 months, 11 years ago, and I'm not gonna' argue anything in this video, really. Personally, I didn't see a problem with the way they sold their product. It ISN'T door-to-door, btw...it's a referral system. You start by calling friends and family, then at every demo you do, you have that person write down the names and numbers of anyone they know who might be interested...then you call those people and ask if you can schedule a demo. As for the demo itself...it's a no-pressure situation. The salesman does the demo, and that's it. If you aren't convinced by the demo, that's it. They don't put any pressure on you at all. It IS commission-based, and though a regular salesman is not tasked with recruiting more salesman...higher-ranking salesmen ARE sent to different areas for, say, a summer, and they recruit as many salesman as they can for that summer. The salesman can continue to work for them after that if they want...but mostly it's just a summer job for younger people (college students, mainly...so that part is true)...and there IS money to be made if you're good at it. During training AND during any demo...a lot of emphasis is placed on the materials the cutlery is made from...so that's not a fact they're trying to hide or in any way conceal. I got the impression they were proud of the materials they used, and that those materials were high-quality...and after using them for 11 years...both my parents full set, and the couple of knives I myself own...and using them daily...we still haven't needed to get them sharpened, and they work as well as they did when we first got them. Cutco also guarantees them forever...which means 100% free sharpening, repair, or replacement, and no proof of purchase of any kind is required. You send them knives they need sharpening...they send you back sharpened knives. You send them a damaged knife...they send you back a new one. Period. No hassle...nothing is required but the product, an envelope (or maybe a box), and some postage. And again...that guarantee is forever...whether you bought the product(s) yourself or not. As someone with a love for and skill with cooking, who lived with a successful professional chef for a few years...I'm definitely impressed by Cutco's products. There may be better out there (though there isn't a better guarantee than Cutco's. It's matched only by one brand: Craftsman tools...and they don't sell kitchen cutlery). I'm not claiming they're a perfect business...I know that the way they do their sales is at best, less than ideal...but it's still far better than many other companies' out there. I'm also not claiming that there are no salesman that go door-to-door...but those salesman are not told to do that, and it is in fact VERY frowned-upon by the company. Some salesman may also use a more high-pressure sales method, but again, they are not taught to, and the company would very much frown on that...and likely let them go. As for cost...they are around the same cost as the two highest-rated cutlery brands on the market (and btw...salesman negotiate price, so the initial price they offer you is not nearly as low as it can go...and they also accept payments, which are also negotiable), and those brands use lesser-quality materials, and don't offer a guarantee like Cutco's...at least that's what I was taught during training (which WAS unpaid...that much is true...but it was also fun). It didn't involve any safety training...that is also true...but again, we were NOT taught to go door-to-door. It was a referral system, which is generally a lot more safe. I'm sure there have been incidents that were pretty bad...but did it occur often enough to warrant any significant change in how they operate? Probably not...but that's just a guess based on my own experience working for them briefly over a decade ago. I admit they may have stretched the truth regarding the materials they use some...but I doubt so, given how easy it would be to find out the truth of it with a quick Google search. They were also featured on the show "How it's Made", so they weren't deceiving the public in any way about that process. They literally broadcast it on a popular tv show. But I WILL grant that perhaps they weren't entirely honest. I don't know for certain, because I haven't researched it. What I DO KNOW is how well their products work when they're new...how well mine and my parents STILL work after 11 years without a single sharpening...and how incredible Cutco's "forever guarantee" is. This is all just based on my own experience as a salesman 11 years ago, and a Cutco owner for 11 years.

I work for Cutco now; been about 3 weeks maybe? Totally love it; hate how it gets harder when you run out of referrals. I don’t have much people left to contact so I’m not sure if I’m going to try adding random people on Facebook & ask them if they can help out. I really like the job, it’s fun, & it helped me a lot with my social skills. As far as the knives; I own a set of my own that I got free & I can not stop using them!

@@mcdaddy9563 sounds like not much has changed over the past 11 years then. Everyone I worked with loved it. It wasn't a good job for me mainly due to my lack of contact with most of my family and old family friends, and the fact that my own friends weren't the sort of people who could afford a set of Cutco knives...nor would they really want them. Most didn't have any interest in cooking, really. I loved hanging out in the office, though. At one point, we traveled from southern Oregon up to Tacoma, Washington to attend a big company "event" (I don't really know how to describe it). They had to rent-out a high school football stadium for it. There was a big stage; speakers; a live band that was amazing; and some other activities. There were hundreds of people there, and you could tell they ALL loved the job, and the company. I realize that they're a borderline pyramid scheme...and any job that's strictly commission-based can suck if you aren't really good at it...but if you ARE...there's A LOT of money to be made. The product itself though...worth every penny. Again...we've been using our set for 11 years...haven't had them sharpened even once...we cook A LOT, and use them daily...and thoutgh we are going to be getting them sharpened soon...they're still the sharpest knives we own...by far. As for this video...I gotta' disagree about the materials. They're top notch. Ours look exactly as they did on day 1, and that's after thousands of washings in the dishwasher. Cutco is very open about the materials they use, because they're proud of them. There may be better knives out there...but I've never used any. Cutco knives are NOT a ripoff. I'm not a professional chef, so I'm not sure what a professional chef who's used A LOT of expensive, top-quality knives would have to say about Cutco knives (just the product, without any bias concerning the company itself)...but I'm an experienced home cook. A good one. And if after 11 years of hard use, the knives still look as good as they did on day 1, and the butter knife is still sharp enough to cut through a thick strip of leather (which ours are...I've tested that)...that's a good knife.

@@TimPetrone Totally agree; I love everything about it; I actually haven’t been working in these past 2 weeks because I was caring for an uncle, which means no paycheck sadly lol. My uncle ending up passing away about 2 days ago & thanks to his wife & siblings I was able to keep his “Signature Set” as something to remember him by. I’ve been using them ever since. Totally in love with them. Not the way I wanted to get ahold of a bigger set but I’m glad I can use them & not only prepare food quickly, but reminisce the memories I hold of my uncle. As far as the sharpening, I agree 100%. I know people with a set that haven’t even sharpened them yet & it’s been a little over 10 years. I love the job, but the whole commission thing is pretty lame lol.

I really don't blame people for criticizing the company itself, given that they use salesman rather than selling in stores, and the job is commission-based...but it truly is a far better system than other commission-based sales companies that don't sell their products in stores (Kirby vacuums, for example...which I also briefly sold...but though their product was incredible back in the 50''s and 60's...today it's great for about a year...two if you're lucky...then it goes to shit. We found that out the hard way). I don't understand the criticism of the product itself. It's truly a great product...clearly made using top-quality materials...and the handle was designed by a hand surgeon. I'll admit it's not the best design (speaking of ONLY the chef's knife, here) for the type of grip used by professional chef's when chopping...but it's not designed for professional chefs. It's designed for regular people...for home kitchens...and they often don't hold a chefs knife the way a chef would. As for the sharpness...again...after 11 years of daily use, and zero sharpening's, I was able to cut through a tough steak like it was butter just last night with a table knife (literally a butter knife, for those who don't know). I don't even bother with the actual steak knives. When I was selling them years ago, a cousin of mine (who was rather poor), purchased a k-bar (he was in the navy during the first gulf war), because he's really in to hunting, fishing, and outdoorsy stuff (I think he bought a filet knife, as well)...and a single table knife. Which one do you think he talked about the most after that?? The table knife. When I sold a pair of Super Shears (scissors) to the mayor...she hadn't been planning to buy anything. She agreed to let me do a demo as a favor, because I was a homeless member of her community. When I showed-up for the demo, she presented me with a sort-of "homeless care package"...just a big basket full of basic hygeine items and non-perishable foods. I didn't really need most of it...but it was a very touching gesture, coming from her...especially since I'd generally been treated like garbage in the community I grew up in, for no reason other than not having a home. She then went on to ask me about myself. She wanted to get to know me...to understand me, as a member of the community she was leading. So I told her...the good stuff, as well as the bad (including my criminal history...which is ancient history now). She never judged me at all, and was the first genuinely kind and understanding person I'd met since I'd become homeless. After that, I did the demo...and she was so impressed by the Super Shears, that she had to buy them (for gardening and cutting fabric)...and they were $80 at the time. She may have purchased one other knife, too...I can't remember. So even people who, going in, have zero intention to buy anything, often DO end-up buying something after seeing how incredible the product is, and learning about the "forever guarantee", which is the best and easiest guarantee possible. After that, the mayor and I became friends. Not the sort of friends that "hang-out"...I was 30 at the time, and had gone to high school with her son...so she was much older. Also, on top of being the mayor (which is an unpaid position, btw), she was also involved in other community organizations (like the Chamber of Commerce), AND she owned and operated a planning and development firm. She was a busy woman, to say the least...but we'd run in to each other on the streets a lot, and always stopped and had a conversation. A few times I dropped by her office to chat, which she didn't mind at all...in fact, she was always happy to see me. Being homeless was awful...especially in my small hometown, where most judged me harshly for my past crimes (all of which were minor, and involved petty thefts, mostly...I'd never hurt anyone), AND for simply being homeless...also openly gay (though you wouldn't know unless I told you, or you had wizard-level gaydar). The community was absolutely awful to me, which is why I moved as soon as I was able, and have no reason to ever return there. But to have the mayor not only show me sympathy and compassion...but also TRULY respect me and my goals...she even admired me for a number of reasons...that was what helped me get through that period of my life far more than anything else did. She was the most highly regarded, respected, and admired members of the community...I was the opposite...yet she never once judged me unfairly, and supported me in all that I did. So for her to respect and even admire me...that canceled-out the opinions of every random citizen who judged me (very few...maybe 0.5% of them...had even MET me). I haven't seen or spoken to her in close to a decade...but I will NEVER forget what she did for me at that extremely low point in my life, and I still think about it quite often. All of this was only possible because I sold her some Cutco...and I didn't have to stretch any truths, or apply any pressure to convince her to buy anything. The product simply spoke for itself. Salesman are often judged for their "convincing lies", half-truths, and pressure tactics...but Cutco doesn't do that, because they don't need to. I could do a demo without speaking a single word, and still sell the product. She was undoubtedly impressed by that, and respected that I didn't try to pressure her in any way, despite having a commission-based job, and a desperate need to sell the product so I could get off the streets and back on my feet.

I agree with much of what you said about Vector and the sales process. We ended up getting the Ultimate set from Cutco when my niece sold them for a summer job. When I found out what she made off our nearly $3,000 purchase (which was discounted by her--their list price is more) it was jaw-dropping. We could have just as well sent her a couple hundred dollars and been ahead, in terms of dollars. We were perfectly happy with our self-sharpening Cuisanart set, and I would recommend most folks go that route, especially those grinding out a living. In addition, Cutco knives periodically hold sales events at Costco, with discounted prices, so no need to buy off a sales rep. I have heard that the steel used is not actually of the highest grade, but decent. Where I think you're off your rocker is the handles. The handles are ergonomic, solid and I think the best feature (besides the double-d edge) of Cutco knives. They're the most comfortable handles I've used, admittedly only as a layman cook that has not used premium cutlery. Their steak knives are, by far, the best I have used. The bottom line is I don't think I would recommend a Cutco purchase for most folks. I think they're great knives, and many comments below show the same from others that have owned them for many years...but they're overpriced for what they are. The average person could spend 1/4 of the money a Cutco set costs and get a department store set that will suit their needs just fine.

The knives are incredible. The guarantee is the best. You can't use a chef knife for everything. You're bashing Cutco but telling people to use your code. Millions of people love Cutco and that's never going to change 🙂

The knives are incredibly bad, the guarantee is the best way to heinously overcharge for junk materials. A 1000% markup on 440A sheeted stainless means they could replace the knife 5 times over and still make a huge profit. 440A is a disposable grade steel, Cutco also hollow grinds their knives with no distal taper. Forschner knives at $40 have better steel and grind. People who love Cutco love Cutco because they don't know any better, they're like McDonalds patrons who have never tasted a decent burger not to mention a prime steak.

It takes complete ignorance of the existence of even mediocre cutlery to think that nothing compares to Cutco. And you're right Cutco is much worse than McDonalds, Cutco would be the equivalent of McDonalds charging $15 for a McDouble

@@Theorcman2008 again not sure where you're getting that from but I never paid for a sample kit or rope or leather and I've been with the company over 2 years. I've never had any of my reps buy it either and I've been a manager for over a year. We have been operating on virtual systems so there's no need to buy anything, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. They used to have to purchase a sample kit but that has not been the case in a long time

After watching this video and doing some poking around on the internet I sold all my cutco knives accept the 3 serrated ones. I replaced my entire set with Henckels and couldn't be happier.

They aren't serrated it's called a double d edge. A serrated knife has flush blade with teeth. The cutco has 3 individual straight edges between each point witch are the only points that hit the cutting board and plates so the blade last insanely long and well.

My parents own the whole cutco knife block, and honestly, they havent gone dull yet. I think my parents like to have it because it's just a nice looking set. Not sure how much they spent on it but my mother, who does all the cooking, uses her own knives. Probably cuz of the size of cutco knives, and also so those knives dont lose their edge. They've had them for about a decade by now and I use them when I go home and they are still decently sharp. I think they are okay if you done use knives often and have "show" money, but if you are serious about your cooking and like to cook every day with fresh produce, buy a beater or buy a single nice Chef's knife or Santoku. Personally, I have a Wusthof 6" chef knife (discounted at $80) and though it is a bit small, I find that I like to use it. Additionally, I just added a 8" "Wekit" $60 amazon Japanese steel (i think) chef's knife and it was pretty decently sharp (got it as a gift). The Wusthof I've had for almost a year now and only sharpened it like 3 times at most and it has a pretty decent edge.

I love my set in the block. Had them for 20 years. Always sharp, feels good in the hand when working on whatever in the kitchen. I have however seen folks using knives for different purposes unbecoming of that specific cutting utensil. Not only in the kitchen. Camping, hunting, fishing, construction, etc. That is however the pick of the user. Peace from Texas

This video strikes me as (and you confirmed this in your own video) that you already had your own opinions before you ever used them and your experience with them is very minimal. I'm waiting for some substantial evidence against Cutco. I've not seen anything like that. But you know what I do see plenty of? Nothing but great things to say from people who own them.

Story time: I have a cutco knife, I bought it from a friend’s cousin who was starting college and wanted a part time job. I felt bad and wanted to help a friend. Iv never really enjoyed bringing really expensive knives to work because I’ll beat the shit out of them. Cutco seemed like a good option tbh! I got a friends and family discount for buying 3… one was a gift one bread knife cause I cut a lot of croutons at my job at the time, and a santoku (my preference) I took them to work and got laughed at “yeah yeah guys, whatever it’s just a beater.” One day ONE DAY into general prep work my santoku was dull. I got laughed at even harder. I STILL get laughed at for my cutco. Iv tried sharpening it. It doesn’t keep a blade. Iv had a Chicago steel santoku that I bought from Walmart for $20 10 years ago that STILL gets the job done with minimal maintenance. My cutco cost $89!!! That’s the discount price. It’s still dull it’s still the most expensive knife in my bag and I STILL GET LAUGHED AT! Buy cutco: get bullied…

The guy who sold me mine was a grown man, extremely helpful, not pushy… actually put some knives back saying the one I selected already could do the job. No issues here.

I have a knife block with both Wusthof and Cutco and they are both amazing quality knives. Super sharp and comfortable to handle. To me, they are worth it, since I’ve owned them for about30 yrs and have no reason to replace

When I started college I was looking for odd jobs and a recruiter for a knife company gave me a flyer. I needed a job and was interested in what being a sales rep was like so I got a ride to the recruitment meeting and stayed for the full session. It was scummy, predatory, and rotten to the core. The pay sounds good on paper, but after one 'practice call' with my grandmother I knew this wasn't for me. Basically 3 hours of my day wasted but a valuable lesson in marketing scams and scummy companies like cutco.

I bought a set in 1998, still sharp as hell and love them. My daughter’s friend cut his hand so badly with the bread knife he needed reconstructive surgery 🤷‍♀️

I bought a Cutco knife from a guy selling them at Market Days. I felt a little pressured to buy the knife but eventually I was convinced & excited after using the potato knife, it cut perfectly! The 7inch Santoku knife is arriving Tuesday. I will try it out but I'll more than likely return it. After speaking to my coworkers we found out that the stainless is cheap & breaks easily. He showed me the different rankings on knives and Cutco was low.. I want a knife that will not break easily & that's a high quality stainless steel knife.. When the knife arrives I will see how it works & I'll share my thoughts about it.

My lady loves her Cutco knives, I never understood why. I picked a cheap 6 piece set of knives from Costco and they are awesome. Longevity, we will see but l have noticed that she is using the Cutco knives less and less. I gotta show her this video. Good Job 👍

My parents have a cutco knife, and I've sharpened it a fair few times. I also learned to cook with it as my primary knife. I also gave them a Shun knife--my mom uses the Shun, my dad still uses the cutco. I think the reason why is that the cutco is *thin*. Like, the stock is thin. Geometry cuts, and cutco knives cut fairly "well" when they're dull. I also think my dad avoids the Shun because it's "too pretty". Like, it's a piece of crap, overpriced knife, but if you're used to cutco, I think you want to upgrade to another stamped knife like a victorinox.

Fact, any other knive company does Not have a forever guarantee or lifetime replacement like Cutco knives. Fact, Cutco knives are made in USA. Those two facts alone make Cutco superior over any other knive made. Buying your Shun knive seems pretty indeed, because that's all it is.

Anybody questioning your integrity or motives around this video have clearly never watched any of your other content.

We were given an entire set of Cutco knives and we love them though we did not spend a dollar for them, we also are not chefs.

My father in law just bought the cutco knife set. He paid $3000....then he bought $2000 worth of pocket knives from them too.

I've been a knife guy since I was 5 years old. I have owned many manufacturers knives. I know quality materials and craftsmanship. I have $5-$800 knives. My friend got into selling these right out of high school. I could tell right away they were inferior steel and way overpriced but he spent 2 hours pitching these to us so for his sake I bought the hunting knife and threw it in a drawer. It came with a cheap pleather sheath. 10 years ago my wife asked me for a knife to cut up some meat. Her knife was dull and I didn't feel like sharpening it so I gave her my cutco knife. She has been cutting meat with it ever since and I haven't sharpened it once! It has their serrations that just keep cutting. This year I bought her a used homemaker set off eBay for Christmas and I think she is gonna love them! Softer steel does not hold an edge as well but there is something to be said about their patented serrations. Plus I was surprised how well they hold value on the second hand market. I guess the high initial price and lifetime warranty? Straight edge ones are trash though.

Well I just bought a set. Wanted to spend money on a USA product. Several of my coworkers vouched for the product. One who had it for three years without sharpening. I will let you know who they hold up after 6 months!

Cutco is the number one selling knife in North America for a reason. They are made well and hold up with great customer service. They are expensive, but well worth it in the long run.

I have CUTCO cutlery that I did not pay full price for and I have a Kirby vacuum cleaner that I did not pay full price for. Both have sleazy marketing companies that sell the new units. Both products have flaws. Both products do a wonderful job and last a long time.

I actually have a set of cutco knives myself; totally love them. If I ever need to resharpen them or want them polished I can pay the shipping price of like $9 & get the polishing & sharpening free. They haven’t gone dull yet or broken for that matter.

I work for vector marketing..I made $1,250 in my first weekend. Sure people don’t like the business model but there’s money to be made. I just won a trip to Cancun and a $15,000 scholarship. Say what you want but cutco changed my life. I’m 18

This company pisses me off so much. For 5% of the price of a cutco set you can just get a decent chefs knife and pairing knife and be most of the way to where you need to be. Rich people tax....

Their recruiting/work ethics is horrible. I worked for them while in school; but my family has had thier knife for over a decade now so the knife all last you a lifetime. You just need to sharpen regularly.

Just got a job offer and got hired by them today. Going to decline the offer. I don’t feel comfortable selling things like this to people.

I keep seeing ads for some random Serbian knife company (sorry, don't remember the name), definitely bullshit marketing (being pretty experienced with knives), but i'd love to see if they actually stand up to their claims.

Well 2 guys from almazan kitchen (bushcraft cooking) created knife and they called it serbian chef knife and its good, but price is high . And they did not protect name, so some companies like Promaja think its from USA and 2 others from EU used same name and same designs. So quality is questionable for that price and i know its high. Any way if u have time check Almazan Kitchen on YT.

Saw some comment about the super shears (scissors) they can be used for both inside & outside. They come apart for easy washing & not to mention that they are dishwasher friendly! :)

The knives themselves are very good, as an owner I can attest. Don’t know any customers not absolutely satisfied. Very expensive though.

Just bought me a set of these knives. I love the fact they can cut like they do. Expensive sure but I was always told you get what you pay for so I'm wiling to make the investment once. I'll also be putting these babies through the paces and if they don't live up to the hype I will be getting the money back at customer service.

Yes you definitely should, that way they could have a chance to ditch their trash knives and buy something that has decent steel and grind.

I notice all the folks that actually use them love them and the folks that sold them have bad things to say. my takeaway is the knives are great but people didn't like working there for some reason

I sold Cutco a few years back. I think it's a great program. Objectively, you learn some great sales techniques and it's great for kids to get some people skills. My office was very particular with not being pushy. You're asking someone if they'd like to see a demo and if they don't, you move on to someone else. It's also not too hard selling $10k worth of knives or cookware and hitting a 30% commission. I've had them for 5 years and they just work. Besides, there is no other company that can compete with the warranty.
