Andrew McCutchen returns to Pittsburgh for the first time as a visiting player since being traded from Pittsburgh to the Giants

I was there truly and astonishing moment
VERY classy Pittsburgh. :) I'm a Giants fan and was happy we signed Cutch...but man, that was a COOL tribute. Hats off to the Bucs, their fans and their organization.

Aaaaaand He's back! I took my family to the home opener, and when they introduced PIRATE #22, I don't think I've seen a more magical moment. That's the longest ovation of genuine love I've ever seen. Welcome home, 'Cutch. I will remember that forever.

Well a lot of yinzers (what pittsburghers call themselves) related to him and the amount of hatred toward the pirates ownership is absolutely amazing.
I’m watching this is in August 2019 and as a pirates fan, this still gets me emotional and I get tears from this. Thank you cutch for everything, once a pirate, always a pirate, love ya brotha

Aside from Roberto Clemente, Andrew McCutchen is the embodiment of my beloved Pittsburgh Pirates. "Cutch", thank you for being you! 👏👍🇺🇸
It was awesome. I lived in Bradenton FL watching the Pirates during spring training. Love my Yankees. But always liked the Pirates. Hope the Pirates can make a good run one of these season's
Made me misty eyed, a much loved person.
2 years later and I’m still crying
Even the PA announcer introduced with enthusiasm to welcome him back
I miss him so much. He was my favorite. Ugh whyyyy. I’m so glad I went to that game.

As a lifelong pirates fan I will always love Cutch. Such a stand up guy and one of the shining spots we've had during a long rough stint

I'm a Giants fan, I was happy when we crushed them in the wild card game in 2014, but I always liked Cutch and I love the fact that they welcome home a former hero like this. this is one of the great things about Baseball

Unfortunately not. He signed with our instate rivals the Phillies (at least they used to be instate rivals) and he’s back in PA I wish him the best of luck over there
